Lunar prodigy:

Rubberfur is a common term applied to furry fans who are big fans of rubber, latex, and similar materials. Rubberfurs come in all shapes and sizes, but application of their interest often involves a combination of rubber themes and anthropomorphic characters - such as artwork of furry characters wearing rubber, rubber items used as costume clothing for fursuits (or rubbery suits with animal themes), and rubber-themed role-play. Some rubberfurs are also balloonie fans and may be interested in inflation.

Vorarephilia

cleanup

Vorarephilia (also known as Voraphilia, Vore, Voreaphilia, and Phagophilia) is the interest/sexual fetish in which a person fantasizes about eating another furry and/or human, or being eaten. People with this fetish sometimes refer to themselves as vores.

Preferences vary, but most vores prefer to fantasize about being devoured whole and alive (sometimes called soft vore or smooth vore). Those who prefer to be torn, chewed, and killed are often referred to as shreddies (and such stories and pictures may be categorized as hard vore). Vore may alternatively involve consumption via the rectum (anal vore), the penis (cock vore), the nipple/breast (breast vore) or the vagina (unbirthing), though these are not universally classified as vore, and are not as common. The fetish is often associated with macrophilia and microphilia, and is most commonly found portrayed in fiction, cartoonish drawings, and internet role play.

Motivations behind the vore paraphilia vary but endosomatophilia (attraction to fantasies involving complete encapsulation of a living thing within the body of another living thing) and dominance/submission play are two common driving forces. Allowing oneself to be literally devoured could arguably be called the ultimate act of submission on the prey's part, and the ultimate act of dominance by a predator. It is easy to draw a connection between vore and the 'snuff' fetish, but in reality the overlap is far from complete. Death is frequently sidestepped or avoided in stories and roleplaying, though for some it plays an integral role in their fantasies.

Vorarephilia is typically considered an "imaginary fetish" given that fulfilling vore fantasies in reality would be difficult to say the least; although the specific cases of Issei Sagawa in Paris, Armin Meiwes in Germany, and possibly Jeffrey Dahmer in the United States, show that it is within the realm of possibility (though most vorarephiles are aware of the inherent silliness of their fetish, and are largely uninterested in the idea of cannibalism).

Vorarephilia and furry
Vorarephilia is a relatively popular topic for roleplay and art in the furry fandom as compared to the wider world, although it is still considered a fringe interest, shared to a greater or lesser extent by perhaps 2-5% of furry fans. Its popularity may be due to the large number of predator/prey species matchups that mingle daily, although some vorarephile characters will eat just about anything with no regard for the conventional food chain. Likewise, the mixed animal/human nature of the fandom allows bestial behavior like vore to emerge naturally alongside mutual grooming and other animalistic traits. Furry vore is also made somewhat easier to act out and depict by the fact that many furry characters do not wear clothes to begin with - and those that are doing the eating often have claws to handle the rest.

The general sequence of roleplay goes something like this:
* Boy meets girl
* (optional) Non-vore roleplay of various kinds
* Girl declares that boy looks awfully tasty, either verbally or by nibbling on something
* (optional) Boy tries to appease girl with gifts of alternate foods
* Girl pounces upon boy
* Boy puts up a token resistance but lacks the physical strength to escape
* Girl swallows boy, either all at once, or (more commonly) over a series of poses in which boy bemoans his fate (if swallowed tail/feet first) or struggles (if swallowed head first)
* (Optional) Boy is crushed into the (usually tight) confines of girl's stomach, and expires from digestion, typically falling unconscious first due to lack of oxygen

The above is just a rough guide of the most typical sequence of events - for example, each participant may be of either gender, or both, or none. Vore may not be fatal - such consumption is sometimes offered as a "warm place to stay the night". Even if digestion occurs, the consumed participant typically "respawns" or "reforms" within a few minutes to a few days. This neatly sidesteps the major disadvantage of real life vore (that you only get to do it once). The level of realism in a roleplay varies from player to player, ranging from absurd and cartoonish to anatomically correct and theoretically feasible.

Vore is in many cases - even in the role-play form - a consensual activity. For every player who decides he wants his fox to go down kicking and screaming as he is ruthlessly gobbled up, there is another who enters a chatroom with the comment "I'm feeling tasty tonight." Some wish to be hunted while others offer themselves up on a platter, and not always figuratively.

Preferences vary so widely in regards to the 'ideal' vore scenario that MUCKs like FurryMUCK and Tapestries allow players to create publicly accessible tables of 'flags' to indicate their preferences and facilitate compatible pairings. Flags like 'no pain,' 'predator,' and 'soft vore' supplement broader flags not specific to vore like 'bisexual' and 'male-biased.'

Some popular places for vorarephiles include the Vor Cafe on Tapestries (adjoined by The Feedery, which caters to fat furs), the Zaftig City mailing list, (for some inhabitants) The Giants' Club on FurryMUCK, Jess and Avon's Vor-com, the largest vore MUCK Voregotten Realm, and one of the largest Vore communities, Eka's Portal.

Postfurry

2007-11-06T10:49:42Z

Lunar prodigy:

Postfurry is a sub-genre within anthropomorphic fiction and characterization which places emphasis on moving anthro animal elements past their naturalistic origins into artificial forms.

Due to its open-ended and ambiguous nature, the parameters of what make up a postfurry work or character can be difficult to describe. A stereotypical postfurry character is at least partially artificial, with a retrofuturistic appearance. A very stereotypical postfurry character is entirely covered with latex. Postfurries often incorporate visual puns or playful elements from inanimate objects: a feline with a glass fishbowl for head, for instance, or a "phonogriff" with strategically placed woofers and tweeters.

Postfurry is commonly associated with cyberpunk and transhumanist science fiction but it is also influenced by psychedelia, rave aesthetics, and magical realism. Postfurry role-play and fiction often takes a postmodernist view on culture and reality, especially in testing the boundaries of what constitutes a "real furry." Postfurry characters are usually linked to their supposed species only in a symbolic way that may have nothing at all to do with real-world zoology.

While the Postfurry genre is still young and not particularly widespread, one MUCK (Puzzlebox MUCK) has already been created with Postfurry role-playing and cooperative storytelling in mind. There is also a postfurry roleplaying game in the works.

Lunar prodigy:

Microphilia is a paraphilia having to do with pretending to be much smaller in size with respect to other characters. The opposite of macrophilia, it may be associated with masochism as opposed to sadism and also closely allied with other paraphilias such as vore and unbirthing.

Some people simply enjoy pretending to be very small, however, just as some enjoy pretending to be very large, without any other implications.

Paw fetish

2007-11-06T10:46:22Z

Lunar prodigy:

A paw fetish is a sexual attraction to or adoration of paws that is more or less the furry equivalent of a foot fetish.

Some furries are attracted to paws in an erotic way. This certainly has to do with the high sensitivity of the paws, but some macrophiles appear to be mostly fascinated by the destructions done by giant paws. The likes and dislikes of paw fetishists range greatly, as the paws of furries seem to vary greatly in art. Some like over-sized three-toed paws, some might be more fond of more human-shaped feet on furries, and some don't really mind any which way.
