:Hi Lobocursor. Thanks for taking the time to contribute to WikiFur! Editors have already had at the article, but here's a few comments:
== Questions ==

What do you define the difference between a [[fursuit]] and an [[wikipedia:animal costume|animal costume]]? The subject has come up at [[wikipedia:Talk:Fursuit#Explanation of edits undone|Wikiepdia's fursuit article]], but I'm a rather poor debater, and feel my opinion is pretty closed-minded. My opinion is that a fursuit is only a fursuit if associated with furry, otherwise, it's an animal or mascot costume. However, I know that some feel an animal costume is a fursuit, and the two are synonymous. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on this. [[File:Scalesona.jpg|40x40px]][[User:Equivamp|Equivamp]] 12:43, 28 June 2011 (EDT)

:As it happens I was already reading that discussion. I think my response would be much the same as yours - certainly, animal costumes existed, but they were not used for the same reasons, nor (apparently) called the same thing. I might respond there, but I'm a little busy at work now. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 12:49, 28 June 2011 (EDT)

Also, whenever I try to edit a section or add a new section, the wiki tries to replace the entire text with the section. Any thoughts on why this is? It may have something to do with the fact that I am using Internet Explorer, which gives me problems in general on this Wiki.
+ ::It's the newest version. The only difference between the newest version and the older one (which I used on my PC) is that this allows me to edit, as long as I do not scroll down the page, whereas the older would simply lock up my computer if I even went to an edit page. The only way I am able to edit on this laptop I often use is by typing without scrolling too much, and then clicking the "Changes" tab, where it allows me to scroll down to click save. I have just turned off the advanced editing functions, and it still did it. [[File:Scalesona.jpg|40x40px]][[User:Equivamp|Equivamp]] 13:03, 28 June 2011 (EDT)
== Altering/deleting species profile ==

After a few years of it being there, I suddenly found a user "Spirou" putting my Monoceros page up for deletion. When I undid his edit and asked why, he deleted it in its entirety and replaced it with a 'redirect'.

Just curious why I was singled out. Or are all http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Category:Fictional_species pages due to to be similarly deleted/redirected if any single WikiFur editor decides that a 'custom species' isn't to his or her liking? If you're nuking all of them, then no worries, I understand. But if it's just this page, I'd really like to know why.

There are multiple monoceri played online, and yes, I've referred others (esp. on SpheresMU*) to that page for reference. Just because no others of them are WikiFur members with their own page yet doesn't mean that the fictional species entry for monoceri should be deleted. Well, I talked to him. Nothing was really accomplished, however. He accused me of attacking him when I was merely asking why he wanted the section removed, which he didn't give a clear answer to. He said he didn't want people googling his name to find out about FA, so I suggested not indexing it, which you've apparently done. However, he then said it was pointless to have the article at all if Google can't find it, to which the only solution is personal exclusion, but he didn't want that either. Then he ''did'' want it. He seemed to have changed his mind again by the ''end'' of the discussion, and said the information was inaccurate. I advised him to correct it, then threatened to blank it immediately after. All the while making passive aggressive insults and threatening to tattle on me to you for "bringing drama" and telling me I'm lucky he didn't have me banned, despite having done nothing wronf. In fact, I was more polite than usual. Also, you apparently "told him about me" but I don't know what you said. All in all, it only managed to shave a few years off my lifespan, because I still don't know what he wants or what happened. == RBW boat party notice ==

Hi GreenReaper,

That's actually a very good point - it seems to be a UKFur issue. If you go here : http://forum.ukfur.org/forum/86-ukfur-events/, and look at the RBW forum 'last updated' thing on the right, it (currently) says 124 topics, but the forum itself is only showing 3 pinned topics.... I've PM'd the admins about it and I'm waiting on the response. In the meantime, you can search the UKFur boards, using "RBW boat party" (minus the quotes) as search criteria, and the article is (currently) the 4th one down. The actual comment from Miyabi (aka sneppid) is post #19 and reads as follows:

''We've sortof dropped the ball on this – we're all quite enjoying the time off; not having massive heart palpitations and not being plunged into huge personal debt is a really nice feeling :3 We're also pretty busy managing LF stuff (well, most of us are, anyway). We'll probably make an official announcement soon but for the time being don't hold your breath for a 2011 boat party – think 2012 instead. We couldn't get the Erasmus at all for the dates we wanted this year, which wouldn't be a huge problem but we'd like to keep the vessel the same. Sorry about the radio silence, but will keep you posted re: 2012.''

So, no "official" announcement generally available, no. If that changes, I'll update the article (assuming you're happy with this as a reference - I can email you a screenshot if you like. :) [[User:Bezel|Bezel]] 05:15, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
==Furnal Equinox Edits by Non-Directors/ConCom==

Hey Green, We've all been through this before. dan skunk is reversing edits on the page, after I removed the "see other/danskunk" and he placed it back. With me removing again. As a director of the convention and concom, speaking with others on said places. We do not wish his wikifur linked from our page article. He has mention in the article and that is enough, he has and still continues to cause problems for us, including many threatening e-mails sent to myself and other directors of the convention in the last few months. We would appreciate if he was blocked from editing our page, or our page was locked from edits, except from anyone of the directors. Scani, Myself, Blindsight, Pakesh or Arctic. At the least I'd like dan skunk to be prevented from editing our page. We don't need more issues then we already have with him and his problems.

Shane Nicholson
Director/ConCom - Furnal Equinox

:Perhaps it's poor form for me to interject on user talk pages, but I noticed this change had felt compelled to jump in because you're asking for administrative lockdowns on this article. Generally, I feel it is not appropriate policy for pages to be locked down to a whitelist of official authors who can contribute. I help run a convention, so I have a similar perspective about public perceptions and controlling impressions. We do this through our convention website, and I think that's the appropriate place for controlled messages and positive promotional text. Our event, like yours, has had a turbulent past that got us to where we are today, and while history isn't always positive or engendering of those presently organizing an event, convention, website, etc., it's an important part of the history of the event, but also, often for the regional fandom at large. If items are added which are true facts, written in a NPOV, and are referenced according to standard, even if they cast an event in a contentious or less than positive light, they're part of a total perspective an encyclopedic article deserves. I noticed the tremendous amount of edits/reverts/reedits/talk page notes that have been going on about your event, and I can't find evidence that Dan is "trolling" in any usual sense, though I certainly understand how you might wish him to not publish his edits as associated with your event. However, I think to be true to it's intended form, that's a concession we have to allow to keep Wikifur credible and in a long-term sense, truly useful. I don't believe anyone should be granted a privileged status as to what an article should say because they are elected or appointed to organize the subject matter being discussed. At the very least, I would recommend that if Dan puts up something you find untruthful, the references be questioned and researched by uninvolved parties, and consensus is reached before edits/reverts are made. Until that happens, even if you were exclusive granted access to maintain the article, it would no longer be credible, it would simply be promotional without community consensus and involvement. In addition, I would like the note of any mention of the charge be removed, as it now poses as a threat to my future in both personal and professional stances. If you require any written proof, I am in the process of gathering the documentation from the courts and my lawyer notating that the matter has been resolved outright.

In addition, I would like to file a complaint against your moderator AshleyAshes, for personally bringing it upon himself to see that my reputation be tarnished, even after the criminal charge has been dropped. He played the entire matter as though I was guilty from the instant I was picked up, and appears to believe it is still the case though my charge has been dropped. I would like to politely speak with you in private on this matter further, so that these issues may be resolved as cleanly and respectfully as possible. It has been a difficult past 6 months, and I would like to do my best to keep those past 6 months under wraps for the future.

:Hi Fritter. I am glad to hear that you have apparently resolved this matter. As the information we have is backed by a published news article, some form of reference or document proving what you have said would be appreciated. If it can be proven, I am personally open to removal of the topic from the article about you; however, as we act on consensus and have not faced this exact situation before, I'll sound out the feelings of other editors on the [[Talk:Fritter|discussion page]].

:You might consider contacting the newspaper which originally covered this story to ask them to print an update. I also would be glad to update the [http://www.flayrah.com/3490/furry-fritter-charged-possession-child-pornography Flayrah article on this topic], and/or to post a new story there of equal prominence mentioning the withdrawal of the charges.

:[[User:AshleyAshes|AshleyAshes]] is not a [[WikiFur:Colleagues|WikiFur colleague/curator]] and does not represent the site in any capacity beyond that of a contributor. He also has no more or less power than you have - well, OK, ''technically'' there are a couple of things he can do because your account is new as of yesterday, but he has not been granted any special powers. We encourage all editors to ensure that articles are accurate and comprehensive, although in this case I would have preferred to see an attempt to confirm the information provided rather than immediately remove it.

:In the future, I suggest using the "summary box" above the save page button to provide an explanation of the motivation for your edits to other editors. This will appear on the [http://en.wikifur.com/w/index.php?title=Fritter&action=history history page] as a brief explanation of the edit. Without it, it can be tricky to deal with situations like user A adding information X to an article, user B removing it for a reason in line with wiki guidelines (e.g. a lack of a citation), and user A then adding it in again without giving any response to B's reasoning.

:You are welcome to [[WikiFur:IRC|talk to me in the #wikifur chat room]], or to [[Special:EmailUser/GreenReaper|email me]], but please bear in mind that I am relocating to Texas this weekend and may be away packing up boxes. As mentioned above, policy and article content decisions on WikiFur are made through the [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Consensus|consensus of editors]], not handed out from above as in most websites, but I would be glad to advise you on how our system works and suggest how best to achieve your goals. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 21:53, 14 September 2011 (EDT)
== Question about terms. ==

Hello, I'm Targal and EvilDragon. you should know me already, as I was sometime in IRC.

:Hi there! Sorry for the slow reply, I've been busy recently in [[real life]] . . .

1.
Rante has made classification about furry. as I saw it, but his term in the word explaining classification looks something weird.
so I question you looks whether it something uncomfortable or not.

I guess You should know these codes can be seen well on a book of libraries.

http://hellodragon.tistory.com/41

I think It'll be better if they're revised as latin-ous.

:I do not particularly like codes as they are inflexible. For example, it says there that my character has a human body . . . but it is half the height of a human, and in fact the stance is more forward-leaning. It also appears to be redundant to define "divisions" if you have defined "detailed divisions" as it can be calculated from that. Overall, I would ask what is the use of such classification? On WikiFur, we use words, and it works well enough, I think.

2.
is the word "furry" literary style?

this meaning is that the word "Kemono" in Japanese can ba hardly written on novels, because it's something inproper. but the word "Jyujin" having a similar meaning to Kemono is used often than "Kemono" on novels.
likewise the word "suin" in Korean meaning furry and jyujin is also used on a novels, but it's so informal term only used on internet products that it can be written hardly on formal words. (but 'suin' is available half on novels)
for example, you have to write 'yiffy' as 'adult furry things' on a formal paper, because 'yiffy' is a slang.

so, I wonder whether the word 'furry' can be used like that or not.

:"Furry" is an informal term; you will not find it in any official dictionaries . . . yet. It is however used by many conventions and artists to describe themselves. If you want a more formal term for the characters which we focus on, I would suggest "[cartoon] anthropomorphic animal". --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 00:00, 3 October 2011 (EDT)
== Deletion of my article and all other mentions/page/etc ==

I would like to remove any real mention of me, the article on me, etc. I am now concerned about my privacy and the amount of information available about me on the internet, and would like to get rid of it as much as possible. ==People to Add==
Hello GR,<br>
I wonder if you could suggest a direction for the [[:Category:People/People_to_add|People to Add]] list? In particular, what should be done with names that defy a reasonable amount of research? Take "Susan Gui" or "John T Baptist", for example. Neither have any mention within WikiFur, and Google searches combined with obvious words like "furry", "furries", "fursona", "anthropomorphic", etc, produce no relevant hits. Neither do Google Groups searches or trying to guess a Fur Affinity account name.

Should such names be left, or removed?--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 17:25, 27 October 2011 (EDT)

:I'd suggest removing them, on the basis that placement on the list is only useful if other people know who you're talking about. If the original adder really wants to make that article, they can always do that. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 17:28, 27 October 2011 (EDT)

== Interesting archive splitting ==

I noticed your separate Admin/Policy + Technical + General categories for your archives. That is neat but it makes me wonder, does it add more work to archiving? Like do you look at each topic one by one and decide where you want to put it? So eventually, the order they are displayed in when split looks different from how they initially appeared in sequence when first posted? I thought about the possibility of adding month-parent single = cats but that is only for standard methods and would clearly overcomplicate in addition to this trinity division. [[User talk:Tyciol|Ty]] 04:29, 29 October 2011 (EDT)
:Yes. It is more work; I do it because I am in a unique situation as many policy decisions and technical questions have been answered on my talk page, and it may be necessary for people to look through the archives to determine the historical basis for a decision (or just to get a general feel for the site's history). This makes it easier for them, as there's less to read through. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 04:37, 29 October 2011 (EDT)
== Help with Babysitting Cream? ==

Thanks for the welcome. I could use some help with the Babysitting Cream page, which is marked as needing to be wikified to match the Furry Book of Style. Whoever put that macro there, I'm not sure what they want fixed. (Aside perhaps from more citations, but the original author has explained the shortage of cites and I'm not sure I can improve on it much.) <small>—The preceding unsigned comment was added by [[User:APDamien|APDamien]] ([[User talk:APDamien|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/APDamien|contribs]]) .</small><!-- [Template:Unsigned] -->

:Hmm. There is [[Talk:Babysitting Cream|some discussion]] of that work already. My view is that the topic is suitable, but it's not a good encyclopedia article. It reads more like a game guide. The choice of the section headers "How to play" and "Strategy" and the constant use of "you" are particularly telling. Description of the gameplay is appropriate, but less in the form of "here's what ''you should do''", and more "here's what happens if ''the player does'' X". The article also contains uncited personal opinions about how the game should be improved, stated as fact. If someone has given such an opinion elsewhere, it could be included but should be cited and attributed to them. (You can sign your conversations on talk pages with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>.) --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 19:16, 15 July 2012 (EDT)
*This is because other people have constantly changed it in the past, which let to its demise (and my temporary ban), updating it with incorrect info and details I myself corrected over time and time again.
== Babysitting Cream thumbnails ==

It appears that you provided specific thumbnails for the article on the Babysitting Cream game. However, one of the thumbnails was never uploaded (or had the wrong filename), resulting in an ugly bar for the missing image, and the other image was from an earlier version of the game.

I have replaced these using the standard "thumb" feature of the Wiki image reference, allowing the software to generate the thumb by the default method. If you want to rebuild the thumbs, this is a reminder that they are there. [[User:APDamien|APDamien]] 14:13, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

Oh, and thank you for replacing my incorrect version of the start page with a correct one. But... the way you did it doesn't get a full-size image when you click on it, only the thumbnail (with a link to the full image if you look for it). I don't understand how this thumb= stuff works well enough to fix it, so I'll just leave it up to you instead of reverting -- I hate reverts and will only do them for obvious vandalism or where the editor clearly didn't understand the purpose of the article/section. [[User:APDamien|APDamien]] 15:03, 3 September 2012 (EDT)

:Thank you for bringing this to my attention. The thumbnail was deleted because the software listed it as unused and another editor thought it was superfluous. I have noted its use on the file page. The thumbnails are used because indexed PNG thumbs are much more efficient than the full-colour ones made by default. I did a bit more digging and found that I can force a manual link as well as a thumb, so that should work nicely now.

:As for the earlier version image, I replaced it with what I consider to be the "title" screen, which is equivalent to an earlier version of the image. The warning screen might be included too, as a separate image but it seems a little superfluous - maybe just a mention in the text, if anything? (If you can't see anything useful in a thumbnail, it's probably not a good image to use.) --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 15:11, 3 September 2012 (EDT)
== Policy on self-editing? Just asking for clarification... ==

Hey there. I'm Kashi Commodore, one of the newer associate developers hired to work on Furcadia. A long-time Furc player and Beekin, I've now joined the team at DEP.

I have my own article, which was self-edited to an extent to correct inaccuracies. And I suppose it might be prudent to update it given my new position. That thought has highlighted an idea..

I see a few factual inaccuracies in Furcadia related articles which I'd be happy to correct. Of course, that would be 'self-editing' in a sense and wanted to clarify what the policy is on that. I'm not a marketer or salesperson, and am happy to attempt to cite official sources where possible. But I wouldn't want to invalidate the encyclopaedic purity of the site - merely correct a few errors. I could see how I would not be regarded as impartial. I'm not sure if I can say I would be an 'official' source myself, but I'm certainly as official as you are likely to get, which has it's own pros and cons of course. I could provide examples of what 'inaccuracies' I refer to if that helps.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. :Hi Kashi! At WikiFur we recognize that sometimes the best sources of information are those closest to the action. As such, we welcome such edits as long as they comply with the general policy on neutrality. There should be little problem with correcting questions of fact; if it starts getting into what you see as misconceptions of DEP policy or actions, it might be best to mention and reference examples of user views as well as the company's own position. In any case, we'd certainly prefer that you continue to do so under your own name, and to explain your reasons for changes in the summary box (or on the attached discussion page if necessary). --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 15:02, 15 September 2012 (EDT)
The edits in question are indeed large, other curators have used this method to prevent editing while making theirs, the pages are only 80% finished, I am not receiving comment on the future status of disambiguation pages, and i'm not using this template as my sole property toy, but to prevent the hanging data from being disturbed until the final edit.

This was done with [[Kitsune]] and [[Vixen]], and after being finished and unprotected, users started to modify the entries as normal. The changes are time consuming, long, tedious and a pain to enter one by one. == Editing the Homepage ==

Hello Greenreaper! I'm Valery91Thunder from the italian Wikifur. I'm working with a friend of mine (Escofal, he wrote to you before) to replenish and update the Italian part of the Wiki. We're currently working on adding new pages, but we'd also like to change the layout of our homepage, which is currently looking like this: http://it.wikifur.com/wiki/Pagina_principale . We'd like to create something more resembling to this: http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/WikiFur_Furry_Central . Do you have any useful tips and tricks, or pheraps a link to a tutorial that shows us the best way to modify these pages? We're new, so we're still trying to learn the majority of the code. Thanks anticipate for your interest, we'll be waiting for your kind answer. :) <small>—The preceding unsigned comment was added by [[User:79.3.154.44|79.3.154.44]] ([[User talk:79.3.154.44|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/79.3.154.44|contribs]]) .</small><!-- [Template:Unsigned] -->

:Hi Valery! I'm glad you want to develop the front page. Unfortunately there is no manual for them in particular - you have to click "edit" and see what is done - but [[mediawikiwiki:Help:Contents|MediaWiki has a manual]] - in fact there are [[Wikipedia:Help:Wikipedia: The Missing Manual/Introduction|several]].

:On the English WikiFur, we have locked the front page, and are using a feature called [[mediawikiwiki:Help:Templates|template inclusion]] so that the content of the front page is on other pages. Basically, anything like <nowiki>{{WikiFur Central/Something}} is actually at [[Template:WikiFur Central/Something]]</nowiki>. This makes it harder for people to edit it, which is both good and bad . . . we also have the front page sections rotate each week (with edit links to the appropriate week).

:Parts of the front page are on [[Template:WikiFur Central/Header]], [[en:Template:WikiFur Central/Featured]], [[Template:WikiFur Central/Comic of the Week]], [[Template:Upcoming events]], [[Template:WikiFur Central/Flayrah]], [[Template:Did you know]], [[Template:WikiFur Central/FeaturedPicture]], [[Template:Furpile]], [[Template:WikiFur Central/Footer]] and [[Template:WikiFur Central/MetaLinks]]. Most are protected to avoid vandalism (although to varying levels), because English gets a lot of it. There are also versions for screens which are [[WikiFur Furry Central/800|800px]], [[WikiFur Furry Central/650|650px]] and [[WikiFur Furry Central/480|480px]] wide, which have their own templates or re-order them.

:This is probably more complex than we need, and almost certainly more than ''you'' need. Given the size of the community, I would suggest that you consider it a "front page to furry fandom". What would someone new to the fandom want to learn? What Italian-languages resources, in particular, are useful? You can link to major topics, to categories - whatever you have available now. (One example along these lines is [[Wikipedia:Portal:Furry|Portal:Furry on Wikipedia]].)

:I suggest that you don't commit yourself to making sections that you will have to update all the time, especially if only a few people can edit it. If you want a featured section, that's fine - but make it one that you can leave for a few weeks if necessary. There is less chance of deliberate vandalism here. Don't be afraid to link to content elsewhere - if there are popular Italian podcasts/shows/news with RSS feeds, you can display links to them, [[Template:WikiFur Central/Flayrah|like we do for Flayrah]].

:I would also suggest looking at our [[WikiFur:Community Central|Community Central]] page ([{{fullurl:WikiFur:Community Central|action=edit}} source]), and mixing some of this type of material on your front page - as you do with the "new pages" section - because it encourages contribution to these articles, and it is automatically generated. Some of the sections there use [[mediawikiwiki:Extension:DynamicPageList (third-party)|DynamicPageList]]. This is a powerful but complex tool. Try it out, but don't expect it to do exactly what you want straight away! --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 20:56, 11 November 2012 (EST)

::Hey there! Thanks for the quick reply, this is a lot of info indeed! I'll start looking at the pages you've linked soon, and your suggestion of doing a simpler page instead of a more "real-life updated" one was exactly in my thoughts. We had in mind to add some links to the major furry forums in there in case some new furs wanted a place to meet people and talk. :) Thank you again!
Hi GreenReaper, it's Valery91Thunder again from the Italian WikiFur, sorry to bother you ^^"
We've successfully managed to edit the homepage, adding a new layout to it, more informations, and so on. We plan on creating the Community Portal as well, soon.
We had another hacker/bot attack, though, that re-edited the homepage. I've managed to restore our version, but still, it's utterly unpleasant seeing our page being changed like that. :( So we finally decided we should add protection to the homepage, but I think, as I'm only a normal user, that I don't have the permissions to do that.
Is there a way, or someone, that we can contact to do it for us?

Hi there, I made myself a page a while back under my username/character name 'Conjure'. I am no longer part of the fandom and have also changed my real name used in the article here. I would not like this info to be posted publicly anymore as it is irrelevant now. Is there any way you could help me delete it? Im not sure if you need proof or anything it is me, but i do use my real email on here and I have a facebook if need be.
Thanks!
I don't know if it's just me, but I'm having a couple of issues with images not displaying properly - such as the first image in the [[Furball Run]] article, and the 4th poster in the [[LondonFurs]] article (2012 summer party). :Yes; these issues appear to affect up to 2/13 of images on WikiFur (and Flayrah/the Yerf Archive). They impact users differently depending on location - for example, I can see all the images you mention, but I am not able to see various other images on [[WikiFur:Gallery (characters)]]. I have a ticket on file with CloudFlare. For now, please proceed as if the images were in place, as they should show up later once the issue is resolved. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 16:13, 13 February 2013 (EST)
== MrFoxyPaws ==

Hi and thanks for your comments:

''It is not necessary to use a qualifier such as "(series)" if there is no ambiguity. That said, I don't disagree with the use in this particular case, because it clarifies that it is a series of works.
Bear in mind that editors may choose to merge articles about creative works back into the article about their creator if there is no evidence that they have a significant following of their own (e.g. through publication). Not saying this will happen, just don't be surprised if you see it. --GreenReaper(talk) 18:24, 25 May 2013 (EDT)''

I created 'Boo and Kye' without (series) but reckoned that in the future it was likely there could be ambiguity over 'Frodo' as somebody may create another character of that name; or, equally, a 'Frodo' page might one day cover my fictional character whereas the (series) one would cover the series. So I kinda hovered between using (series) and not using it.

You're right my stories don't have a large following - is it better for me to try and fold them back now? although i'm not totally sure of the formatting for that. I'm more than happy to have a go. I did wonder about this point. I guess that i thought / hoped the number of stories, and that they are a series (with the cast of characters) would lend them some credibility. Also, they're at least of reasonable quality in terms of grammar and spelling etc because that's an interest of mine, having proof-read a novel for a friend. But i'm new to wikifur so happy to follow the guidelines. [[User:Foxypaws|MrFoxyPaws]]
:I'd say leave it as it is if you're comfortable with it now; if anyone feels the need to merge them later, hopefully they'll deal with it without removing any useful information. We most often do this when there is a true "stub" article that will never be of a significant size, just a few lines, but consistency can be a factor as well. Incidentally, you can sign and date your name in discussions with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 18:56, 25 May 2013 (EDT)
== Questions ==

Just curious why I was singled out. Or are all http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Category:Fictional_species pages due to to be similarly deleted/redirected if any single WikiFur editor decides that a 'custom species' isn't to his or her liking? If you're nuking all of them, then no worries, I understand. But if it's just this page, I'd really like to know why.
There are multiple monoceri played online, and yes, I've referred others (esp. on SpheresMU*) to that page for reference. So, I was wondering if you could explain to me what I'm supposed to do/have done, or talk to him yourself.

:The issue with UKFur should now be fixed - apparently there were some unexpected hiccups when the RBW posts were moved from "conventions" to "events", which have now been corrected. [[User:Bezel|Bezel]] 11:06, 3 August 2011 (EDT)
==Furnal Equinox Edits by Non-Directors/ConCom==

On that note, I would like to request my personal information be removed from my article page without threat of moderators such as AshleyAshes re-adding such information.

As the information we have is backed by a published news article, some form of reference or document proving what you have said would be appreciated.

== Question about terms. ==

==People to Add==
== Interesting archive splitting ==

== Babysitting Cream thumbnails ==

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks. <small>—The preceding unsigned comment was added by [[User:Kashicommodore|Kashicommodore]] ([[User talk:Kashicommodore|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Kashicommodore|contribs]]) .</small><!-- [Template:Unsigned] -->

== Editing protection ==

Common courtesy during a curators edit would be appreciated - [[User:Spirou|Spirou]] 21:08, 15 October 2012 (EDT)
:This is not "I will be the only one editing this entry forever!" territory. I'm talking large input of material at one, most of the entries from diverse and obscure references (specially foreign). - [[User:Spirou|Spirou]] 21:14, 15 October 2012 (EDT)

::I [http://en.wikifur.com/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&limit=500&type=protect can't see evidence of use of this method] to protect personal editing projects. It is primarily used when there is a dispute over articles. If you have a large edit which you cannot complete within a matter of hours, it would be best to prepare it in your user space. I will expand on this in the ongoing discussion. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 21:16, 15 October 2012 (EDT)

:::Okay, then I will take Sine's suggestion, which is the most logical right know. I will remove (temporarily) the links that are currently not finished (not relinked, but just the ones with name and no description), move them to four folders for the four species/disambiguations on my Wikifur folder, and edit them offline, to be included back at a later time, so I can remove the edit tag, and open them to user traffic as of right now - [[User:Spirou|Spirou]] 21:25, 15 October 2012 (EDT)
== Editing the Homepage ==

== Protecting the Homepage ==

Thank you again for your time and kindness. :)

== Locking my Page ==

Dear GreenReaper,

I am the original and owner of DiWolfe and the page of (well I didnt make it someone else did) and I would like to see if my page can be blocked from google searches, specifically and what it would take to do so. If not then I would just like the page deleted because I do not want it showing up in google searches.

Please let me know if possible and what to do to prove I am who I am if there are any doubts.

-DiWolfe

:Hi DiWolfe. I don't see a problem with deindexing it, given the current content. I've added a noindex tag. Google seems to be a bit obstinate about removing it from its index currently, but I'll try again in a few hours. (It often takes a couple of days to percolate through, anyway.) --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 21:13, 28 June 2013 (EDT)
I just finished so I hope you can check it and approve it or else. My changes do not show in my friends machines but only for me. :(
I hope you can check the page and help me with this. Thank you in advance! :)
'''Wolfie Rankin''' (born 1965) is a [[werewolf]] ([[therianthrope]]) from [[Wikipedia:Melbourne|Melbourne]], Victoria, Australia. He is usually called '''Wolfie!''', having used that name as early as 1986, and had been formerly known for his activities on the [[Second Life]] simulation, but there's a lot more to his story.

== The Radio Wolf ==

After leaving High School in 1985, Wolfie briefly studied at [http://www.saemelbourne.com/ The School of Audio Engineering] in St. Kilda, Victoria.
although that was a slight error as He wanted to be in radio, but did take some knowledge from there which came in handy later.

"The Radio Works", A School for Radio Announcers, in South Melbourne, was the next port of call, where he studied the basics of working as a DJ.

Upon leaving, He joined a community radio station in Melton, Victoria called [http://www.979fm.net/ 3 RIM-FM] (Now known as 979FM) Where he presented a music program called "Something Wild" twice a week which consisted of 80's music (it was the 80s).
and He also wrote and produced various recorded work for the station.

He continued for three years until illness overtook him and he had to quit in 1989.

"When I started radio, I was full of enthusiasm, I loved Kenny Everett a British DJ, and wanted to emulate him, but after about two years of radio I found that my energy was sliding and I wasn't sure why. I remember one listener ringing and asking if I took drugs, I hadn't... I had also noticed stomach cramps and nausea with the lethargy. One day I had an argument with the boss, and just quit there and then... but it wasn't the stations fault, or the fault of my boss, something was wrong with my health. But I really couldn't see that I was that bad at the time."

== Life in the slow lane ==

As He slowly recovered, Wolfie began to feel the need to do something new.

He had always been interested in herbs and natural medicine, so joined the Australian Shiatsu College in Fitzroy,
This was mostly taken up because he needed something slow and quiet to do.

Wolfie calls that stage of his life, his "new age, crystal wearing hippy days" which was around 1995.

He had embraced Yoga and meditation, and messed around with American Indian philosophy, He felt it
helped bring him out of his shell a little more, especially as bodies had to be touched directly and for
quite some time.

Wolfie had been bullied badly at school and had become very introverted as a result, but Radio and Shiatsu
had helped him a lot, The Internet would also go a long way in allowing him to open up and talk to people.

Wolfie does not see natural medicine as a genuine treatment for anything, however admits that the Yoga, Meditation
and physical contact (Including practice massage by other students on his own body) had helped a lot, and in some
ways he was healthier for it.

==Logo and Character==

The original sketch was drawn by Wolfie in 1989, in black biro, and Wolfie still has the original picture.

The picture was shown to [[Lobocursor Lyceus|Lyceus/Lobocursor]] who re-created the image in his own style.

It was then released to the public on the internet.

Furry artist [[Poop]] did a quick sketch of it in 2003 and the image was cleaned up by Second Life artist Quadrapop Lane in 2007.

Although Wolfie says his inner wolf is brown even though the logo is of a white wolf,
This is because the brown one always looked too dark on screen, so Wolfie remains white.

[[File:Wolfie_science_nine_copy.png|278px|right|thumb|Radio Wolf Avatar]]

== Fearsome Beast of Legend ==

Wolfie is a Werewolf, However there's no curse, no wars with Vampires, no changing shape under the moonlight.

"None of the old Werewolf legends or stories mentioned anything about moonlight, that was something dreamt up
for "The Wolfman" (Original) and has persisted ever since."

Wolfie feels the most accurate film about Werewolves, is Teen Wolf, The Michael J Fox Movie.

"Here's a fellow who suddenly finds that he's different to others, that's all it is, but it's beautiful. I think it's a shame that
people feel the need to ruin a story with violence, for shock value. Can't a werewolf be kind, warm, friendly or sexy?"

Real Werewolves, according to Wolfie, are not offended by Hollywoods distortion of the facts, and still enjoy a good Werewolf story,
However the movies would all be filed under "Comedy".

Wolfie is not the least bit aggressive and often suggests that he's far too domestic to go hunting.

"I don't like raw meat, I'd rather cook a nice chicken pie and share some of it with my dog."

However he likes to put on an act by suggesting he "eats babies" and takes part in various revolting activities like rolling in dead things or licking up his own vomit, if only for a chuckle.

Wolfie's nature is gentle, fun loving and protective... and friends suggest he has a little [[Coyote (species)|coyote]] thrown in for good measure (The Prankster).

Wolfie thinks the wolf gene was from his Dads side, but nobody knows for sure.

==Second Life==
Although having been persuaded by others to use Second Life, Wolfie! was not interested until he saw an episode about the subject on the science/technology journal ''[[Wikipedia:Beyond 2000|Beyond Tomorrow]]'', screened on Australia's [[Wikipedia:Seven Network|Channel Seven]]. The episode was interesting as it even showed [[furries]] in Secondlife having a passionate kiss in public.

It was almost impossible to join Second Life that night, as so many Australians were logging in for the very first time. Help Island was "popping out" about three avatars a second. Once Wolfie managed to enter Second Life, He found he could not get off Help Island as the second help island was full, and getting to the mainland was impossible unless someone in-world teleported him there. This eventually happened when Glenny (an American friend who Wolfie had met via a Harry Potter Yahoogroup a couple of years earlier) teleported him to an Elven area within SL, and Wolfie lived there for a week or so, sleeping in the bushes, as he had no land at the time.

Wolfie's first avatar was the basic human who wore tie-dyed pants and got no respect from
anyone.

His first real avatar was a free white Secondlife wolf given to Wolfie by Patch Fuhr

Wolfie's usual Second Life avatar is usually a gold "Werehouse" [[wolf]] or a "Werehouse werewolf".

When Second life began to use sculpties and talking jaws, Wolfie upgraded to a "fox coloured"
Instinct Wolf... although that didn't really last.

===Eragon and Wolfie's pub===
When Ryu joined Second Life, Ryu was so enthusiastic about it that he planned to buy an Island. Although Wolfie tried to disuade him, Ryu ultimately bought Eragon. (He named it after [[Wikipedia:Eragon|the books]]

After Eragon was created, Wolfie was invited to Share it with Ryu, The offer was extended to
Kath McGill also.

After weeks of trying to decide what to do, Wolfie came up with the idea for the Kookaburra Pub. Which would sit "in the old gum tree". [[Wikipedia:Kookaburra (song)|As in the song]],

The original plan was to buy a pre-fabricated building from Caledon, but
then Ryu decided to try his hand at building. After looking at some photos of Aussie pubs on Flickr, Ryu constructed the pub and the Bar. Wolfie did not consider himself a builder, and therefore didn't contribute much to the building.

Surprisingly, Ryu offered his hand to Kath, first in Second Life and then in Real Life,
She accepted both times, and the two then went to Australia on their Honeymoon to stay
with Wolfie!.

===ABC Island===
One night, Jaggpro McCann visited Wolfie and asked if he would like to have him play at the Pub. Wolfie agreed to that and wanted to let others know this would be happening.

Lowell Cremone suggested that an advertisement be placed on his forum, Metaverse Journal,
and it was here that Wolfie discovered that Abi Goldflake was trying to get [[Wikipedia:Australian Broadcasting Corporation|ABC]] Island up and running in Second Life.

After getting ABC Island set up, Abi asked Franko, Lowell and Wolfie to join her on the new island. The Island was left open and Wolfie took some advantage of this, inviting friends over for a mock takeover while he wore a vest with the Union Jack emblazoned on it. He also took several risque photos of himself as Dr. Frankenfurter from ''The Rocky Horror Show''.

Soon after, the Island was closed and built on by Gary Hazlitt, who had also built Big Pond for Telstra. On the opening day, there was a big party and during that week Abi chose her first ABC Friends Administrators. Wolfie Rankin was chosen, along with Diag Anzac, Lowell Cremone, Evangeline Wind, Esmeralda Vernon, Rails Bailey, and Skribe Forti.

ABC Island is notable in that although it is a "commercial sim", it is furry friendly,
and quite a few of the ABC Friends Admin are furries themselves. This is hardly surprising since the ABC are highly supportive of cultural diversity.

===Rockit===
{{main|Rockit}}
Wolfie saw potential in ABC Island having live programs just like they do on their TV and Radio networks.

However, Wolfie was against pre-programmed questions, feeling that if everything on Second Life was pre-programmed then you may as well simply just have a webpage, so Rockit was to be a live program, hosted weekly.

The show is run like several ABC gameshows, where people play for fun but don't win
anything as they are extra-low-budget productions, and this also convinced Wolfie that
such a show would work, providing it was entertaining enough.

Although Rockit was popular, it was difficult to produce, often taking days to write questions, now most people in Second Life don't watch television, wishing to remain in world and do whatever they do, Wolfie was no exception, but it was also difficult to draw players to the show, Rockit was wrapped up for good (partially due to an accident which damaged Wolfies hearing in 2009).

=== Leaving Second Life ===

Increasingly Wolfie was of the opinion that Second Life had nothing more to offer, He felt that although it had potential, convincing others to try it proved to be difficult.

Not everyone wanted to try it, or could try it, feeling that it was simply a game rather than a social network, or their computers were too slow, or their internet was not capable of providing a fast enough connection. It wasn't the easiest thing to use either, some who were not computer savvy found it too hard to use.

"Eragon" which had been Wolfies home in Second life, had been sold off by it's owners due to the expense of running it.

"I always felt more like a people person, a helper, and I was happy to do that, and at first I did a lot of that and really enjoyed it, but as the shine wore off
Second Life, there were much fewer opportunities to do that.

I began to feel that people went to Second Life to hide, People in SL lived in a kind of bubble, and were not always aware of particular news happening outside,
While Twitter was generally right on the ball, often breaking news before it happened.

I could wait for an hour to talk to someone on SL, while Twitter was sometimes hard to keep up with.
I was a broadcaster by nature and Twitter was full of media people, that was where I should have been, so I left SL"

== Documentary ==

Wolfie has been in a documentary about Second Life sub-cultures, called Alter Ego, which
also features a musician [[Alfonzo]] and [[Marko the Rat]], a long time friend and fursuiter.

The Documentary was made by [http://www.decemberfilms.com.au/ December Films] and went to air on [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Broadcasting_Service SBS] in 2009.

It's directed by [http://www.sbs.com.au/blogarticle/108073/meet-wolfie-rankin Shelley Matulick] who also created the short [http://www21.sbs.com.au/podlove/index.php?pid=episode&cid=216 Our Brilliant Second Life] which was seen on [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_Broadcasting_Service SBS] in 2006.

The Documentary is available to buy directly from December Films.

As an additional furry connection, the company Shelley's sister works for created the [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck14LKBI9GM Orangina commercial] with the dancing furries which can be seen on YouTube.

[https://vimeo.com/8750931 "Marko and Wolfie"]

== Beautiful Kate ==

Wolfie is seen briefly in the new [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Ward Rachel Ward] movie [http://www.beautifulkatemovie.com.au/ "Beautiful Kate"] Which premiered at the Sydney Film Festival in 2009. The movie stars [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bryan_Brown Bryan Brown], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Griffiths Rachel Griffiths], [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Mendelsohn Ben Mendelsohn], Maeve Dermody and Sophie Lowe. The film was released, to a wider audience, in Australia, in August 2009.

"They wanted Rachels character to use Second Life in the evenings, as she was alone in the bush, looking after a sick Dad, and had no way to socialise. A dance scene had been set up on a Second Life island, and the scene was filmed... if you squint, you can just make out my character. I heard on the grapevine that Rachel Ward said that my character was cute. I was paid $20 for the twenty seconds which I was on screen for, which you have to admit, is bloody good money. Alas my real name appeared in the credits and nobody knew that it was me."

== Cancer Survivor ==

In 2005, Wolfie had just lost his first Alaskan Malamute to cancer, and just two weeks later had noticed blood loss while in the toilet.

An examination revealed that he had bowel cancer, and an operation to remove the tumour was quickly arranged at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
this was followed up by months of chemotherapy and radiation which made him terribly sick.

Wolfie can be seen having a cat scan in the documentary "Alter Ego"

"My Mother had been looking after me while I was at home, I could barely eat because the chemo had affected my sense of taste, it was like someone had mixed tobacco, gym socks and batter acid together and stuffed it in my mouth. The taste would last most of the week and would generally pass before saturday, which was when I could eat something fairly solid... but would then return on the sunday and just be about clear by wednesday when I'd get another dose... One day I woke up and was just watching from my bed as Mum walked past over and over, which I felt was really strange, and Then I asked her what she was doing, and she spoke quietly "I thought you were dead"... It was a horrible year for me and I'm extremely sympathetic towards anyone who has to deal with it."

Wolfie had been left with an ileostomy (similar to a colostomy) a bag for collecting waste, and although it should have been there for about three months, it remained for five years. This was because Wolfie had been too sick to be operated on, and then had had enough of hospitals, so simply decided to keep things as they were.

But as the bags tended to leak at the worst time, Wolfie decided to have the operation in 2010, and now functions almost as good as before.

Wolfie lost his Mother, possibly to cancer, in 2006. She died before a clear diagnosis was made.

Wolfie then lost his older Sister to Ovarian Cancer in 2010

His Dad died of cancer in 1998.

As of 2012 Wolfie is still alive and well.

== Life at Home ==

Wolfie has always been a home body, so doesn't feel stuck at home, and is quite happy.

He makes friends all around the World via social media, and loves to meet them face to face whenever he can.

Wolfie lives with his Alaskan Malamute "Katie" (Katherine) and his cat "Vicky" (Victoria)

Hey guys. I'm new here, I was playing the game "where is my name on Internet" and I see that someone made an entry of me here. There is a lot of bad info on the page, for example I'm an therian not a furry. So bear with me while I edit the page about me. Any questions you can contact me here (but I won't come often) or by my email.
