Kentauro:

General Info
Herd Mentality is an art and story magazine published by Aatheus. Herd Mentality is published under the fictitious business name of Hoof-Loose Publications.

The topic of Herd Mentality is that of centaurs and furry taur species, that is, creatures having a humanoid torso joined to a nonmorphic lower body. Creatures that are considered taurs are generally quadruped, but four or more limbs is the currently accepted criteria for being considered a taur. Herd Mentality generally tries to balance the amount of 'classical' [centaurs] and furry taurs in each issue.

Format
Herd Mentality's format is a double-sided 8.5x11" stapled book, with art on the front and back covers. Issues vary in length from 27 pages during lean issues up to 54 pages for the special 20th issue. Early publication was done using photocopiers at various locations, with a move to digital photocopiers around issue 17 or so.

History
Publication of Herd Mentality started in 2001, as an alternative to the then-defunct Wikipedia:Zine Centaurs Gatherum, published by Victor Wren. Issue #26 of Herd Mentality was released in December 2006, with publication continuing for the foreseeable future.

An adults-only version of Herd Mentality was published from 2002 until 2005, when it was discontinued due to lack of readership. Six adults-only issues were produced before printing of new issues ceased.

Convention Presence
The publisher of Herd Mentality, Aatheus, has sold issues at Further Confusion in the past. In 2003, Aatheus had a dealer's room table at Further Confusion, which doubled as a place to sell merchandise to benefit FurBid. Most of Herd Mentality's sales have been conducted by mail order and through private sales outside of conventions.

Subscriptions
Herd Mentality offers yearly and half-year subscriptions through its web site, with single issues being available for purchase. A year subscription includes four issues, while a half-year includes two issues.

External Links
Herd Mentality home page

Kentauro //en.wikifur.com/wiki/Uncle_Kage%27s_Story_Hour 2007-01-10T08:15:07Z

Kentauro:

Uncle Kage's Story Hour is a stand up performance that is given by Dr. Samuel "Uncle Kage" Conway at Anthrocon and many other conventions. It usually lasts anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half.

Origin
Uncle Kage's career as a storyteller began at ConFurence in 1994 when he was idly entertaining some friends with a tale in the lobby of the hotel. Passersby began to congregate to listen, and by the time he finished he had attracted a sizeable crowd. It was then that artist Colin Crisanti playfully tugged on "Kagemushi's" sleeve and said, "Tell us another story, Uncle Kage!"

The moniker stuck, and the following year Uncle Kage was invited back to tell stories as an official event. For the next few years his Story Hours were held in hotel lobbies for want of large enough rooms, but in recent years he has performed on stage in large ballrooms for audiences as large as 1500 people.

Conventions
The various furry, science fiction, and fantasy cons that have featured Uncle Kage's Story Hour include:
* Anthrocon
* ConClave
* ConFurence
* Conifur Northwest
* Eurofurence
* Feral!
* Further Confusion
* I-CON
* Megaplex
* Midwest FurFest

External links
* Video/DVD ordering page from UncleKage.com

stub
