Keita Haruka:

Keita Haruka is an anthropomorphic black wolf. His player is resident in South Africa. Keita has been active in the furry fandom since October 2006 and is primarily active in the South African furry community.

== Background ==
Keita was born on 11 October, 1982, and went through several awakenings in his life that brought him to the fandom. The first was recieving a visit from a black wolf with green eyes while still a child.

The image of the wolf stayed with him all his life until a spiritual and emotional crisis in 2006 forced him to acknowledge that the wolf existed and was part of him.

In 2003, he received a B.Sc degree, majoring in Zoology and Microbiology, and in 2007 he completed his M.Sc in Environmental Science and Management.

Furry2Furry was the first furry site he joined.

Keita is primarily a writer, and have published several stories on Sofurry and Fur Affinity.

== Furry life ==
Keita started out in the fandom as a silver wolf. In time, his fursona gradually changed as he explored himself. The first major physical transformation his fursona underwent was a change in colour from silver to black.

After meeting his mate (Kiba Haruka) on FurF in 2007, he changed his name from Keita Silverwolf to Keita Haruka. With the help of his mate, he gradually came to a greater understanding of himself.

Very much a "what you see is what you get" sort of person, Keita behaves no differently online than he does in real life. He sees his fursona as a spiritual representation of his true inner self - the wolf is him, and is not merely a character he plays.

== Activity in the fandom ==
His first furry activity was on Furry2Furry. Early in 2007, a fellow south African fur (Spike2k5) dragged him onto FurF. He was later on made a moderator of that forum until a software failure on the host server caused the site's destruction. Early in 2008, he followed Shewolf to a new site, Fur4u, and was made a moderator there.

Late in 2006, he met a fellow South African fur, Rakuen Growlithe, with whom he tried to create a website for South African furs. It wasn't until 2008 that this dream was realised when they teamed up with Kad Foxwolf and Anoyomouse. This partnership resulted in the creation of ZAFur.

Keita is no longer very active in the furry fandom, and is rarely seen, even on the sites he founded.

Keita Haruka is an anthro black wolf and is resident in South Africa. Active in the fandom since October 2006, he is a member of several furry communities, most particularly fur4u, on which he is a moderator and ZAFur, which he co-founded.

ZAFur [http://www.zafur.co.za] is a South African furry site that was established in March 2008 and is effectively a combination of two sites that originally used two different methods to unify the South African furry community. The elder of the sites, which was also called ZAFur) comprised a community blog and IRC channel while the second was a forum. By themselves, neither site was very successful.

== History ==
The original ZAfur site was estabished a number of years ago and went through numerous ownerships, finally ending up in the paws of Anoyomouse. The site focussed on community blogging but didn't attract much active participation. The associated IRC channel, #ZAFur on the Furnet IRC network, was established by TigerTael and was quite popular at one point. It is still associated with the ZAFur site.

In 2007, Rakuen Growlithe and Keita Haruka established another South African furry site independant of Anoyomouse in partnership with Dracius and Spike. This site was plagued with techical difficulties and was almost abandoned before even officially launching. The persistence of Rakuen Growlithe and the intervention of Kad Foxwolf opened lines of communication between Keita and Anoyomouse and a new site using the registered domains of both original sites was born. Where the original ZAfur site tried a blog approach, Rakuen Growlithe originally suggested a simple page with contact details while Keita was in favour of a forum. At present, the forum is the main part of the site with additional add ons planned for launch at a later stage.

== The site: Reason for being ==
The ZAfur site was established to unify the South African furs. Traditionally, South African furs have tended not to keep in touch with each other. The new site aims to rectify this by offering as many options for staying in touch as possible, from IRC, throgh blogging to forum interaction and even IM. The site will serve not only as a place to meet and socialise, but also as a centralised hub for arranging furmeets, or simply to network.

== Administration and ownership ==
Anoyomouse is the main site benefactor, although Keita and Dracius both contribute to expenses. The forum itself is Administered by Anoyomouse, Keita, Dracius and Kad Foxwolf, with Rakuen Growlithe as Super Moderator. Although neither Rakuen Growlithe nor Kad Foxwolf contributes to the site finances, they each contributed to the site, with Kad as Admin to facilitate and arrange furmeets.

== Membership ==
Thus far, the site is home to over 40 furs, with some participation from as far afield as Canada, Poland and Australia. Although the site is South African, and most members are South African, the site is open to any and all that wish to be a part thereof. No one is turned away, living up to the South African tradition of hospitality.
