Argon Hamilton

2012-06-27T21:03:08Z

KaliTheRabbit: Research done on Argon Hamilton incorporated into the article.

Argon Hamilton, real name Andy Baker (born William Andrew Baker October 27, 1953 - December 22, 2009) was a male centaur on both SpinDizzy MUCK and FurryMUCK. He described himself as a "Southern Gentleman, hailing from the SE corner of the United States."

Character Description
Argon was described as a large, white clydesdale-like centaur with golden hair (often in a ponytail), mane, tail and feathering. He stands at 8'6" tall, prefering human measurement over that of what is used for horses. When confronted with his equine anatomy, he proudly espoused his trademark speech of how he was 'horse-like but not like a horse'.

SpinDizzy MUCK
Argon was, until the time of his passing, the chief editor of SpinDizzy MUCK's newspaper, @Action News and was the significant other of Mavra, who he married in a SpinDizzy MUCK session.

Argon's Centaur Site
Argon maintained a website dedicated entirely to centaur-related artwork and stories, known as Argon's Centaur Site. Due to the archetypical description of centaurs as sensual and sexual creatures, much of the artwork hosted depicts unclothed male and female centaurs.

The website is no longer hosted today; all that remains is an archived version.

Death
On January 3, 2010, it was reported on the SpinDizzy MUCK LiveJournal community that Argon's player had passed away after several months wrought with health problems including a stroke.<ref name="spindizzylj">But seas between us braid hae roar'd, Austin Dern (January 3, 2010). It just doesn't seem very pleasing to read when the most noteworthy thing described about said person is the death of his or her mate. I'm going to do some research and see what I can dig up. --KaliTheRabbit 16:34, 27 June 2012 (EDT)

A rabbit (also known as "lapin" or "lapine" in French, "usagi" in Japanese) is a herbivorous mammal, physically characterised by long hindlegs, long ears, large front teeth, and a very short, fluffy tail, called a scut or bobtail.

Species confusion
The rabbit is a very well-known animal, but similarities between different species often results in it being confused with other species. The archetypal rabbit is the European Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus), which is brown-grey in colour. All domestic rabbits are descended from this species.

In America, European rabbits are often confused with cottontails, which look practically the same, but are a different genus.

The most common confusion is with hares, which look like large rabbits. The two are not the same, but they tend to be lumped together.

Rabbits in culture
Rabbits are well known for being prolific breeders (as evidenced in the phrase 'breeding like rabbits'). For this reason, they are often used as a symbol of fertility. For the same reason, they are regarded as pests by farmers.

The rabbit is widely predated, and this role as a prey animal also lends it an air of innocence.

Anthropomorphic rabbits have often appeared in film and literature. Some popular culture examples are:

* Bugs Bunny from Looney Tunes
* Lola Bunny from Space Jam
* Buster Bunny from Tiny Toon Adventures
* Babs Bunny from Tiny Toon Adventures
* Roger Rabbit from Who Framed Roger Rabbit
* Cream the Rabbit from the Sonic series
* Usagi Yojimbo

Greetings. My name is Kali Noel Paige, and I am a proud member of the furry fandom. I have actually been, unofficially, a member of the furry fandom for pretty much my entire life; it wasn't until early 2009 that I even found out that there was one giant community of people just like me. My beginnings as a furry were not like most; though I did love all the classic Disney movies featuring both anthropomorphic and feral animals, my interest came from primarily writing adventures about my fictional character.

I am experienced with Wiki format and editing; therefore, most of my exploits here will be in the design and formatting of pages. I will also use my writing experience to rewrite pages in a format that is informative, clear, concise, and pleasing to the reader's eye.

Why I'm Here
I decided to join WikiFur primarily because I was tired of the garbage content on this site. There are too many useless pages which have no relevance to the furry fandom, unneeded sections within articles that have no reason to exist and seem mostly made up, and, to be honest, pages that disgust me.

Of these, I am mostly talking about pages relating to yiff and yiff-related content. I believe that the primary reason the furry fandom gets such a bad reputation is because of all the sickness that goes on within it. Therefore, I shall begin a systemic process of removal, making this Wiki a useful resource to turn to for furry-related matters.
