Kaparjutsu is a fictional martial art developed by Joshua the Samurai and Fox Champion for the Kapar Saga. More accurately a system of several arts, Kaparjutsu focusses on the drawing, aiming, and reloading of the handgun. Joshua states the art was based on the theory that in a distant future using the gun will have become as much an art as the use of the sword.

The practitioners of the art are often called "Gunslingers" or "Kapar Users". Individuals adept in the art can hit distant targets without using their eyes, draw and fire impossibly fast and re-load their Kapar with a single practiced motion. Many Gunslingers also excel at separate arts of hand-to-hand combat making Gunslingers almost unbeatable opponents. The art is regulated by "The League Of Kapar Duellists" who lays down rules of training, holds tournaments, and generally maintain the integrity of the art.
Some races consider the Kapar a living thing and has a soul. In The Shulamite a group of White magic-users used a resurrection spell to re-construct a Kapar that had been destroyed. Some Kapar feature long blades or spikes to make them useful in melee combat or to prevent opponents from grabbing the weapon in close combat. Some more exotic forms of Kapars feature sword-like blades, or even heavy metal butts so they can be used as a club.
Occasionally Kapars are long enough to be considered rifles, but this is controversial and some don't consider "Long Kapars" Kapars at all. A Kapar will hold anywhere from two shots, to eight shots in a cylinder. The most common is six shots, though many prefer a four-shot because of lighter weight.
Aiming and firing in Kaparjutsu is unlike aiming in other firearms discipline. Kapar have no sights, and are designed to be aimed from any arm position, right or left handed. Kapar can aim by listening to a target - some species can even sniff them out. By memorizing possible trajectories, Gunslingers can appear to dodge bullets (Joshua notes that in actuality, gunslingers aren't dodging bullets as much as they are predicting where they will end up and moving accordingly). Some employ metal plates on their wrists nicknamed "Reflector Plates" that can deflect bullets away from them in moments of desperation, though this is considered a last-resort tactic. ==Kaparjutsu vs. Gun Kata==
I alluded to this in my previous comment here, but I wanted to get further into it. Both Kaparjutsu and Gun fu, or more specifically Gun Kata are fundamentally the same thing. Whereas the former is claimed to have been developed by Joshua the Samurai and Fox Champion, the latter was conceived by writer/director Kurt Wimmer and choreographer Jim Vickers. You may have seen Gun Kata in recent films such as Equilibrium and Ultraviolet. You can also read more off Wikipedia at the official site of the martial art http://www.gunkatta.com/home.htm Both Kaparjutsu and Gun Kata involve memorization of possible trajectories for dodging and aiming as well as close-range melee. In essence, they are the same thing, just with different claims of origin. --Kendricks Redtail 02:44, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Origins of Kaparjutsu
I should clear the water here, I created Kaparjutsu as a story element in the "Kapar Saga" and a series of comics I plan to relese. I never claimed to come up with the idea of a Gun-based Martial art. I came up with the idea after watching old westerns where gunfighting WAS an art, while Kaparjutsu is very similar conceptualy to Gun Kata but are ultimately visualy diferent. Gun Kata is based more on Kung-fu with guns, and Kaparjutsu is more just quick draws that don't really look to much like any martial art. A Gunsligher is more aptt to just whip the gun out and fire instead of doing anyhitng fancy, purhaps a little bravado you'd see in old westers would be in order. Also, the Mele elemnets of Gun Kata are part of the art, kaparjutsu itself is based around the drawing, firing and reloading of the gun and dousn't include hand to hand fighting. Kapar users can be either good or bad at Hand-to-hand combat; Some excell at it, others are useless at close quarters. I should try to clarify this in the article, the way I originaly depicted it, it DID wind up sounding alot like Gun-Kata. I assure you this was unintentonal and if you read The Shulamite you'll find Gun Kata and Kaparjutsu to be noticibly dissimilar. And on a side note the 24 movements that made up the "Gun Kata" refer to the fact that "kata" is japanese for "movements" or "Colletion of movments" after seeing Equalibrium, In my next book I'm changing the name of this practice to the "Gun Sutra" again, I should probably enter this into the article to clarify things.
The art is regulated by "The League Of Kapar Duellists" who lays down rules of training, holds tournaments, and generally maintain the integrity of the art.

Creator Joshua Knode stated he plans to use actually techniques developed for Kaparjutsu at the Morphicon Atomic battle of doom, a foam gun shootout planned to be held at the end of the con.

History
According to clues in The Shulamite, the art of Kaparjutsu came about when 24 refugees from the city of Evengal trained in the wilderness for seven years to avenge the destruction of their city. Over a thousand years the art of Kaparjutsu was practiced and perfected in their tradition of "protecting the innocent" and preserving the tradition of the art.

.

The revolvers used in the art of Kaparjutsu are extremely specialized weapons, forged over a period of four years, corresponding with the first four years of a Gunslinger's training. The kapar is larger and heavier than a traditional firearm, but balanced enough so that the weight is hardly noticeable. Their weight, craftsmanship and high caliber make Kapars some of the most accurate handguns on Venus by far. They are named and personalized with complex engraving by their owner. If a Kapar is destroyed, they are given a funeral like real people.

Occasionally gunslingers Employ a Pair of Kapar, one in each hand. One is usually smaller than the other and sometimes kept concealed to convince an enemy they're disarmed when their not.

Techniques
Aiming and firing in Kaparjutsu is unlike aiming in other firearms discipline. Kapar have no sights, and are designed to be aimed from any arm position, right or left handed. Kapar can aim by listening to a target - some species can even sniff them out. By memorizing possible trajectories, Gunslingers can appear to dodge bullets. Some employ metal plates on their wrists nicknamed "Reflector Plates" that can deflect bullets away from them in moments of desperation, though this is considered a last-resort tactic. Reflection can also be done by the Kapar itself, or by iron fans some gunslingers use for Melee.
Tika is from a small unnamed farming village where her family harvests Gal Nuts, but she grew up idolizing the Gunslingers in the magazines and newspapers, hoping one day she could leave her village and become like them. At The Medina school Tika formed a deep bond with her teacher T'shelle and fell in love with Magnus Mangreer But later left the school for reason yet to be revealed.
As Revelaed in the book, T'shelle was breifly married but her husband (who was unamed) was murdered soon after by a rival Gunslinger. Magnus Mangreer is a young arctic fox Gunslinger from the Furry fantasy Novel The Shulamite. He is a junior officer in the Cratecentran Infantry Reserve, holding the rank of Liutenant. He Graduated from the Medina School of Kaparjutsu, attaining the rank of Gunslinger but not electing to stay at the school for advanced rank, though his master, T'shelle, stated he could easyly attain Master rank with futher training. Personaly, Magnus Mangreer is a quiet and soft-spoken. He is reserved, and not prone to speaking out, but is aginst

Mangreer's age is kept purposely vague in the book since the Venusian years system is differnt(a venusian year is about 2/3 of an Earth Year) but estamations place his age at arround mid-20s. He is adept at the sword fighting arts of his home city of Cratecentra, since his family has a long military tradtion. His father in the book is also a cratecentran officer, but in the cratecentran air core instead of the army. Aside from military careers, his family line dabbles in farming, they own an orchard in the Lake District of Cratecentra that grows citrus fruits. Previosly Mangreer was in a romantic relationship with Tika Korwyn, but she had recently left.

Kaparjutsu is a fictonal martial art developed by Joshua the Samurai and Fox Champion for the Kapar Saga. More acuratly a system of several arts, Kaparjutsu focusses on the drawing, aiming, and reloading of the handgun. Joshua states the art was based on the theory that in a distant future useing the gun will have become as much an art as the use of the sword.

The practitoners of the art are often called "Gunslingers" or "Kapar Users". Individuals adept in the art can hit distant targets without useing thier eyes, draw and fire impossibly fast and re-load their Kapar with a single practiced motion. Many Gunslingers also excell at seperate arts of hand-to-hand combat making Gunslingers almost unbeatable opponents. The art is regulated by "The Lague Of Kapar Duelests" who lays down rules of training, holds tournaments, and generaly maintain the integrity of the art.

Creator Joshua Knode stated he plans to use actualy teqniques developed for Kaparjutsu at the Morphicon Atomic battle of doom, a foam gun shootout planned to be held at the end of the con.

History
According to clues in The Shulamite, the art of Kaparjutsu came about when 24 refugees from the city of Evengal trained in the wilderness for seven years to avenge the death of their city. Over a thousand years the art of Kaparjutsu was practiced and perfected in their tradition of "protecting the innocent" and preserving the tradition of the art.

The Kapar
The revolvers used in the art of Kaparjutsu are extremely specilized weapons, forged over a period of four years, corresponding with the first four years of a Gunslinger's training. The kapar is larger and heavier than a traditonal firearm, but balanced enough so that the weight is hardly noticable. Their weight, craftsmenship and high caliber make Kapars some of the most accurate handguns on Venus by far. They are named and personalized with complex engraving by their owner. If a Kapar is destroyed, they are given a funeral like real people.

Some races consider the Kapar a living thing and has a soul. In The Shulamite a group of White magic-users used a ressurection spell to re-construct a Kapar that had been destroyed. Some Kapar feature long blades or spikes to make them useful in melee combat or to prevent opponents from grabing the weapon in close combat. Some more exotic forms of Kapars feature sword-like blades, or even heavy metal butts so they can be used as a club.

Techniques
Aiming and firing in Kaparjutsu is unlike aiming in other firearms dicipline. Kapar have no sights, and are designed to be aimed from any arm position, right or left handed. Kapar can aim by listening to a target - some species can even sniff them out. By memorizing possible trajectories, Gunslingers can appear to dodge bullets. Some employ metal plates on thier wrists nicknamed "Reflector Plates" that can deflect bullets away from them in moments of desperation, though this is considered a last-resort tactic. Reflection can also be done by the Kapar itself, or by iron fans some gunslingers use for Melee.
Hey, I don't know if the "feep" images can be used here (from the Fuzzball TinyMUCK pages). The only permission I got from Revar was to put all fuzzball documentation on any wiki I felt was useful. The Feeps aren't part of the documentation (they're more the "mascot" of Belfry Software) so I can't give any permission one way or the other. The best way to contact Revar is Revar@FurryMUCK. --Aerowolf 02:05, 21 February 2006 (UTC)
I have a real issue, with people being able to edit history, his wishes aside, no one, should be able to hide their past, espcially when it is such a well known name, I think wiping his userpage is fine, if he wish it to be that, then so be it, however, he should not be able to remove links from within the wiki.. im on IRC and AIM Right now, IRC as AlohaWolf, and AIM as AlohaWulf, please shoot me a message

Entry deletion
I would appreciate it if you would please delete any mention of myself from your wiki site. I've hoped that non-involvement with that particular fandom would perhaps allow my mention of involvement with it, to evaporate over time. Yet I checked this morning and there is a detailed bio of said interaction, covering me from 1993 to the present.

-Tom Narey

:I'm sorry that you feel that way. Part of furry fandom's history is the fact that people have decided to leave it, after all, and we like to record that so that people know the full story and don't wonder what happened to people. However, I can understand your view, and I shall exclude your entry in accordance with our relevant policy. Unless there are any objections from other contributors (which are unlikely given your current non-involvement), this should be all that is required. Should you change your mind at any point (or if you would prefer that the entry be there, but with details of your choosing), let me know. --GreenReaper 22:25, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

:If you wish we can probably exclude your entry completely. It would be a shame to remove the details of your work in the community, though. Would it be acceptable to preserve the entry if all mentions of your name and current occupation were removed?

:I have set this up at Heavy Horse so you can see how it would look, and changed all links mentioning your real name to your fan name. The only pages on which your real name currently appears are these talk pages, which can be edited out if desired. The page about you could also be put under your control if you wish, so that only you or an administrator could edit it directly.

Hi, thanks for commenting on my entry.
I really have no idea what I'm doing... I thought I was making a general pedia entry, but guess not. How do I make an entry?

:You're welcome! And don't worry, you're doing the right thing by trying things out. *grins*

:You were editing on your user page - the bit where by convention you "talk" to people on a personal basis. This is usually used to talk about your wiki work and plans for the future, or whatever - but either way, it's from you (in the first person), not about you (in the third person). It's pretty much exactly the same in terms of editing, but the content is different by convention - compare User:GreenReaper and GreenReaper to see what I mean. It means that people can edit the pages about other people without feeling that they are editing personal words - because that is what the User: page is for.

:You can turn it into a entry in the main namespace very easily - click the Move tab at the top while on User:Growly and select to move it to just Growly. == "User" vs "normal" pages ==

I'm afraid I'm still too wiki-newb to understand the difference. What is supposed to go on a 'normal' vs. 'user' page, such as my own (Chibiabos vs. User:Chibiabos)? I've been doing my user page to talk about all my projects and characters and things, and the 'normal' (non-user) Chibiabos page to just talk about the Chibiabos character as it appeared in my MUSH I ran a few years back. --Chibiabos 21:17, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

:I should probably have taken the opportunity to explain after my earlier edits. :-) Our current convention is to use the page in the main namespace for both the person and their character, if under the same name. This is partially due to the integration of many people's characters with their personality, but also because by convention a User: page is a personal message from a user (first-person), while the other page is about the person (third-person). Compare GreenReaper and User:GreenReaper. This distinction is considered more important than that between a player and their fursona. Moreover, most of the time people will be referring to people not their characters, and it gets annoying to remember to type User: all over the place - normal articles should link to other normal articles.

:This policy makes a bit more sense on Wikipedia, where most users will not have pages about themselves because they are non-notable individuals (under their definition). However, it seems to work OK here, and it helps separate the personal message on the User page (which is controlled by you) from the description of yourself (which others should feel free to edit). Hope that clears things up for you! --GreenReaper 00:33, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

::Another thing to note: An awful lot of people that we write about do not have accounts under their names, and so we might well write about someone and find that their account was owned by another (or that they'd used a different account name). Again, this relates to the difference between the idea of a person and the user that is editing the wiki that just happens to be that person as well. --GreenReaper 00:37, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

:Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that, but I can understand the situation given your class of your work. As you have previously made contributions to WikiFur I feel reasonably assured of your identity - no further verification will be reqired unless someone claims otherwise.

"User" vs "normal" pages

The art is regulated by "The Lague Of Kapar Duelests" who lays down rules of training and holds tournaments and generaly maintain the integrity of the art.

Joshua The Samurai is a furry writer, musician and personality. Known for being the creator of Bambi the bat, he is also the administrator for the Bambi's Bamboo Bar Yahoo group, and has mastered two techno albums, one of which is the official soundtrack for Shawntae Howard's comic, Extinctioners.

Music
The official Extinctioners soundtrack was Joshua's first album, written by him with a cover drawn by Extinctioners creator Shawntae Howard, with featured artwork on the disk by artists that have contributed to Extinctioners in the past.

The album sold well, and the music was accepted as Extinctioners cannon, with the title track accepted as the official theme of the comic. However, the Samurai's second album "Ronin Without a Cause" was less well received. Despite some tracks being played by known DJ's and a few positive reviews, the lack of any "furry" theme other than a remix of the Extinctioners theme caused con-goers to lose interest, with only a few copies sold, and many given away as gifts by the composer when endless copies cluttered up his house.

Despite this setback, a third album (with a Jewel Vixens theme) is planned, tentatively named Bent on World Domination, and it's rumored that artist Jodimest may add exclusive JV art to the soundtrack, hoping to restart the Samurai's musical career.

The Samurai's Entourage
The Samurai, along with his entourage, are regular fixtures at furry conventions and events, where some of his "esteemed entourage" can be seen around him at any given time. The entourage is jokingly referred to as the Samurai's "elite team of bodyguards," when in reality they are simply his close friends.

Currently Bambi is the star of the roleplay, and it's most popular character

Origins
Joshua admits he designed the chraracter after Zoe Nix, a bat chracter created by Slippy for his Extinctioners fanfiction.

Bambi was born in Brick, New Jersey on 14 Febuary 1979, though at the time of the roleplay she is 26 years of age. At age 18 Bambi ran off to New York city, where she lived with freinds and worked as a model while attending cullinary school. Much of her life in New York is a mystery, but it's known that she quit culinary school at age 20 and used the money she earned modeling (Apearently quite a sum) to buy a run-down old steakouse and turn it into her current buisiness. She makes a fairly good living just from the furs that stop by to see her in a short-cut silk Kimono. She started dating her current boyfreind Lemon Reniro when he came into the bar every day working on his laptop. She asked him out on a dare from Anita (one of her waitresses) and years later the two's romance is still the center of the rolplay.

A 3rd genration Brazilian, Bambi speaks fluent Portugese and enjoys practicing capoeira as a hobby. She is infinatly cheerful, and tolerant of her gawking customers up to a point, but has enougha attitude to stand up for herself. She loves to cook, and even though she isn't officialy a cook at the resteraunt, she invented the bamboo-based cuisine and wrote the recipes. She loves Hong Kong action films, and in the roleplay she had a serious crush on Carter Wong. Bambi favorate foods are Bamboo shoots, deep-fried plantains, and apples. She can almost always be spotted wearing a kimono; they have to specialy tailored because of her wing membranes, along with all her clothes. To make the roleplay more immersive, Joshua the Samurai gave bambi a real, working e-mail: Bambibat@cheerful.com where she can be contacted with fanmail. At one point the bar had a website, but it was shut down. In a surreal moment, Bambi herself has submitted posts to her own online roleplay.

Bambi is a Fruit Bat Character created by Joshua The Samurai for the online Roleplay Bambi's Bamboo Bar Bambi is one of the more popular re-occuring bat characters, even though she prefers the term "Flying Fox" and is often addressed as "Foxy" by her freinds. Currently Bambi is the star of the roleplay, and it's most popular character

Origins
Joshua admits he designed the chraracter after Zoe Nix, a bat chracter Created by Slippy for his Extinctioners fanfiction. Joshua liked Zoe, and when he began writing his own fanfiction, early storys included a more perky, and cheerful version of Zoe he named Bambi the Bat. She featured a fox-like apearance and was for an unknown reason, always wearing a Kimono. After the brief apearence, the character drew attention, Joshua began drawing Bambi regularly, and then Carlito, an artist freind, began doing his own fanart. Soon, Bambi became popular enought to spawn her own, independant storyline in the form of an online play-by-post roleplay.

Background
Bambi was born in Brick NJ on Febuary 14th 1979, though at the time of the rolplay she is 26 years of age. At age 18 Bambi ran off to Ney York city, where she lived with freinds and worked as a model while attending cullinary school. Much of her life in New york is a mystery, but it's known that she quit cullinary school at age 20 and used the money she earned modeling (Apearently quite a sum) to buy a run-down old steakouse and turn it into her current buisiness.

__NOTOC__
Bambi's Bamboo Bar is a fictonal bar located in Chicago, Illinois that is the center of an online roleplay based on the Bambi's Bamboo Bar Yahoo Group. The story circles around Bambi's life in Chicago running her Chinese-themed bar; it is strictly slice-of-life, but things seems to get surreal on occation. Bambi herself was created by Joshua The Samurai and Aelius. The roleplay has been online since 2003 and continues with hundreds of posts, contributed by many fans.

Recurring Characters
Bambi herself is the most well known character in the story, a 26 year old fruit bat, who prefers the more "PC" term "Flying Fox". At the bar Terrara Linding is often found drinking Bambi's signature brand of sake. Bambi's Boyfreind Lemon Reniro can often be found in the bar working on his Laptop, along with his sister Melon. Joshua the Samurai's fursona appears, as well as that of Aelius, Slippy, and Bambi's little sister Cee Cee, created by Carlito. Alex Daragon added several recuring chracters; Anita the mouse and Tyamet, as well as his own lizard persona. So many characters from other comics often pop up in the roleplay the creator joked that the bar must be a "nexus between worlds" (much like the Cross Time Cafe).

Location of the Bar
The creator of the series states that the adress of the bar is 1123 Wells St. in Chicago, five minutes from Wrigley Field. Google Maps estimates it at seven, but it could probably be done faster in a pinch. Considering Chicago traffic, makeing the trip in 5 minutes would be fairly difficult however, and the claim is mostly an advertising ploy. The Location of the bar is stated by the creatior as a "Suprisingly quiet" neighborhood, in reality several nightclubs and bars are located on Wells.

Cameo Appearences
Bambi and many of her freinds been rumored to make cameos and many diferent publications, however the bat herself has only has one confirmed appearance - in Extinctioners Annual #2 Bambi can be seen in the backgrond of the first story drawn by Carrlito in the "Bamboo Hut".

This does not appear to be accurate. Google Maps thinks it is perfectly possible - you can even get directions! --GreenReaper 08:42, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC)

:Heh. It might be ten minutes if you drive it at 3 AM on a Sunday morning. Every other time it's at least double that, if not more :-) --Duncan da Husky 13:53, 16 Dec 2005 (UTC) (Chicago resident, nitpicker)

Of corse, in Ads Bambi would exagerate the timeframe trying to bring in buisiness from the statium. However, in the future I think Bambi would have to admit that 3 miles Across downtown chicago is hardly "Five minues" away. I'll incluide this in posts on the club
