Although this was once a possibility, long ago, admins frown upon it now since i) it goes against the idea of a wiki where all may edit, and ii) it invariably resulted in an abandoned, unmaintained article.

== Motivations behind all the Stubs on AU furries. ==

Hiya Higgs Raccoon, a few of the local furries I know have recently discovered the Stub pages on them that you created, which has caused a small discussion on twitter to occur.

I'm kinda curious at ''why'' you do this, and ''where'' you initially gather the names of the furries that have made articles about.

I personally don't mind the page you created on me, but some are of the opinion that it perhaps would be nice if you asked peeps first for permission to post such things (even if they may be easily googled and such).

Anyway, I'm sorry if this isn't the most appropriate forum to ask you this, but it seems to be the most logical, since you're the initial creator of all of these stubs! Thanks --[[User:KaiAdin|KaiAdin]] 07:10, 24 September 2012 (EDT)

:Let's see... Why do I create stub articles? A variety of reasons, I guess. Being a scientist, recording and cataloguing things goes with the territory. Also, I think the fandom as a whole is ''worth'' recording. And not just all the well-known artists, fursuiters, convention organisers, etc. I think more everyday furries should be included, too, so that WikiFur records a more complete cross-section of the fandom. As to why I create stubs on the AU furries, that's because I'm an Ozfurry myself (though I don't get to be there that often anymore.)
:As to where I gather the names... all sorts of places. LiveJournal, Fur Affinity (with its [http://www.furaffinity.net/user/ozfurs ready-made list of Ozfurs]), Twitter (yes, WikiFur knows [https://twitter.com/KaiAdin/status/250185725281193984 when you're talking about us]), the Fursuit Database, WikiFur itself (lots of red links to google)... pretty much anywhere furries gather online.
:Because the information included in articles is gleaned from public profiles that appear in the simplest google searchs (I, for one, don't bother ''digging'' for information), WikiFur doesn't have any policy regarding asking permission first. Feel free to open a discussion about it on [[WikiFur_talk:Policies_and_guidelines|the Policies and Guidelines page]], if you like. Of course, anyone who ''has'' an article here and wants its removed is welcome to request [[WikiFur:Personal_exclusion|personal exclusion]].--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 17:27, 24 September 2012 (EDT)

:: Hehe, Yea I figured you'd find the mentions on twitter. As I said I'm not personally opposed to it, I was just curious myself as to why! Thanks again for clearing that up :3 -- [[User:KaiAdin|KaiAdin]] 21:03, 24 September 2012 (EDT)

:Sorry about that. There was nothing that linked your new name to your old one, so I created a new article without realising you'd already been catalogued previously. Jester Spearmann: Couple of updates

{{contributorU}}
Please note a lot of this needs to bre redone when I've got more time on my hands
Anyone that's willing to attempt to tidy this up please leave a note on my talk page [[User:Jester Spearmann|Jester Spearmann]]

[[Image:Jester Coloured Crop.jpg|right|thumb|200px|Jester Spearmann]]
==== '''About Me''' ====
My Name is Jester Spearmann, my [[Fursona]] is a [[Dragon]]-[[Wolf (species)|Wolf]]
Most commonly described as a hybrid of Dragon & Wolf breeding
my appearance looks to be overly wolven in structure, save for the almost demonic horns sprouting from my forehead,
with slightly elongated muzzle for that dragon, wolf mix. Fur coloring is generally a 'sterling' silver appearance
in most places with the only exception being scales running from my neck down to my inner thighs

==== ''Second Life'' ====
I joined [[Second Life]] in April of 2006
Having found the game through random friends on msn I decided to try it out. After a few teething problems that most noobs have I met [[Johann Wilberg]]
who was then a member of the group known as [[Venuma Coalition]], then [[Novus Ordo Imperialis]] and finally [[Ordo Imperialis]]
Still a civilian during those early times most of my time was spent visiting the base of VC as a civilian and occasionally getting blown up by random members who ignored the civilian title above my head. soon after the VC folded I wandered around different places in search of virtual employment and wound up as a DJ at the Rainbow Tiger, he was soon promoted to head of club security and estate manager, it was during this time that the dreaded PN decided to poke around in Second Life and do their stupid things (insert collective shudder here); Soon after VC folded I was introduced to Aryte Vesperia and the rest of the Titan Industries crew in Ratin (Sim now defunct)

== ''' SLMC History ''' ==

Unknowing that at that time the majority of them where former members of VC & NOI. I spoke briefly with Aryte not knowing at that time he would soon come to see this white wolf as his leader. Upon the opening of the OI Johann prompted Jester to sign up to the [[Ordo Imperialis]] [[List of Second Life Military Groups|community military organization]] headed by [[Aryte Vesperia]].And with much nagging eventually did so, my recruiter and Schola liaison at the time was [[Gunau Sodwind]]

Most of the Schola lessons where taught by [[Ruin Nefarious]], whom unbeknownst to most members at the time was one of many of the imperators alternate accounts
The weapon issued to all Schola members at that time was the VAR-2, a lot of the training consisted of shooting at random officers. As they ran back and forth on top of the old Astra maze, the job was of course to shoot them as they ran through the openings. This was soon followed by a CTF type game with members of the Praetorian Guard
Many at this time did not make it through to the final graduation. Jester was one of the few who made it through and then left to go find their gear in the armoury tent and work out which terra squad they wanted to be in, after having waited for approximately a week he was added into Tetria Feratta run by [[Inoue Katsu]] & [[Coujo Thatch]] by former Terra Legates [[Xang Xiao]]. The first major combat deployment was to the Merczateers home sim to defend them against Vanguard.

Jester Spearmann: 2142 update

[[Image:Jester Coloured Crop.jpg|right|thumb|200px|Jester Spearmann]]
==== '''About Me''' ====
My Name is Jester Spearmann, my [[Fursona]] is a [[Dragonwolf]]
Most commonly described as a hybrid of Dragon & Wolf breeding
my appearance looks to be overly wolven in structure, save for the almost demonic horns sprouting from my forehead,
with slightly elongated muzzle for that dragon, wolf mix. Fur coloring is generally a 'sterling' silver appearance
in most places with the only exception being scales running from my neck down to my inner thighs

==== ''Second Life'' ====
I joined [[Second Life]] in April of 2006
Having found the game through random friends on msn I decided to try it out.

== ''' SLMC History ''' ==

Rest of my SLMC history is below, Outlining the groups I have been a member of, what rank I attained etc

[[Image:1228336615_shakagazette_yiffy_-_safe.jpg|right|thumb|251pxKitsunefox|Kitsune.]]

Jester Spearmann: Update of a few spots

[[Image:Jester.jpg|right|thumb|200px|Jester Spearmann|Second Life profile image]]
== History ==

'''Jester Spearmann''' joined [[Second Life]] in April of 2006
Having found the game through random friends on msn he decided to try out, whereby he met
[[Johann Wilberg]] who was then a member of the group known as [[Venuma Coalition]], then [[Novus Ordo Imperialis]] and finally [[Ordo Imperialis]]
Still a civilian during those early times most of Jesters time was spent visiting the base of VC as a civilian and occasionally getting blown up by random members who ignored the civilian title above his head. soon after the VC folded Jester wandered around different places in search of virtual employment and wound up as a DJ at the infamous Rainbow Tiger, he was soon promoted to head of club security and estate manager, it was during this time that Jester met the dreaded PN and bough his first weapon from none other than. Yep you guessed it Lil Carducci (insert collective shudder here); he was then promptly introduced to the crew of Titan Industries in Ratin.

Unknowing that at that time the majority of them where former members of VC & NOI. He spoke briefly with Aryte not knowing at that time he would soon come to see this white wolf as his leader. Upon the opening of the OI Johann prompted Jester to sign up to the [[Ordo Imperialis]] [[List of Second Life Military Groups|community military organization]] headed by [[Aryte Vesperia]].and with much nagging he eventually did so, his recruiter and Schola liaison at the time was [[Gunau Sodwind]]

The majority of his Schola lessons where taught by [[Ruin Nefarious]], whom unbeknownst to most members at the time was one of many of the imperators alternate accounts
The weapon issued to all Schola members at that time was the VAR-2, a lot of the training consisted of shooting at random officers (soulbinder included). As they ran back and forth on top of the old Astra maze, the job was of course to shoot them as they ran through the openings. This was soon followed by a CTF type game with members of the Praetorian Guard
Many at this time did not make it through to the final graduation. Jester Spearmann: Updating with my information from second life wiki

[[Image:Jester.jpg|right|thumb|350pxJester Spearmann.]]
== History ==

His first major combat deployment was to the Merczateers home sim to defend them against the dreaded [[Vanguard]].

== Present-day ==
Currently within SL Jester is a member of [[Vanguard]] at the rank of K-1 Brigadegeneral

He is currently one of ten Templars (Fuhrers personal Guard) alongside his administrative duties in Vanguard

In his spare time he is a member of [[United Federation Starfleet]] In the Marines division he

Thank you so much for fixing the bad edit that random troll did on my page "Areku Detritus". I would never of caught it because I don't come here often. You are awesome.

== New articles! ==

I've been meaning to tell you for some time--it's a pleasure working with you. I enjoy creating stubs and seeing you frequently soon add to them with external links and so forth. And you create elegeant stubs yourself!

I wanted to mention that I'm not planning to create many new articles for a time; I like the idea of our hitting ten thousand total articles soon after we move to wikifur.com, rather than while we're still at Wikia, and I'm not sure how our rate of growth will co-incide with the move schedule. So I'm focusing on cleanup, including some merging and deletion, for now. -- [[User:Sine|Sine]] 16:22, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

:Hello Sine, and thankyou for your kind words! I'm glad you approve of my own stubs and the additions to yours - as you're one of the biggest contributors here, I've tried to mimic your style and learn from your corrections.

:I might follow your lead and cut down on the creation of new articles. It would be kind of nice if the rollover to 10,000 articles occurs with WikiFur established in its new home. I dare say there's enough cleaning up and tweaking to be done in the meantime. --[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 19:18, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

::Sorry I could manage to get this done by then. Hey, better late than never, though! :-) --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 05:14, 28 September 2009 (UTC)

:Hi, this is Elfasi, I met BlackTeagan at Eurofurence just a few weeks back, took photographs too, and I can confirm she is very much female. Is there a reason why this isn't reflected in her wikifur page?
--[[User:Elfasi|Elfasi]] 22:22, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

::You expect good faith to be assumed when an anonymous editor changes someone's gender in a 2-year-old article, and doesn't even bother to add a few words about *why* such a radical change is necessary? If Black Teagan is actually female, go ahead and make the change, but please explain such an edit at the article's [[Talk:BlackTeagan|talk page]]. References would be a good idea, too. --[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 22:48, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

:::*shrugs* I assumed nothing, just somebody made the edit when I pointed out the error in a public forum, I followed up the result. Given the lack of history on the subject and a deletion on the subject in the talk page, I did however wonder if this error was here for a reason. I will make a proper citation and edit tomorrow. --[[User:Elfasi|Elfasi]] 22:54, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi

[http://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Tower My Article]

I just found out I had an article yesterday and there is some things that have become obselete.

If you want to discuss this, can you contact me on iamorlytower@gmail.com?

Thanks

== Sorry. ==

Sorry for that, I'm used to doing edits like that without using the preview button. Sometimes it's just not the same looking at it from the preview view as it does like to mess around with some code on a page and misplace alignment.

But I'll try to in the future. [[User:Shiekie|Shiekie]] 14:21, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

== Hello, erm, could you help me out ==

I'm going to clean up the article definitly, but erm, how do I link myself to the People page? I dont see my name on the list and I honestly have no clue how to add it.. -Audiofox

:Hello Audiofox. Your article will appear on the people page if you open the article in the edit window and, at the very end, include the category tag for people:
:<nowiki>[[Category:People]]</nowiki>
:At the bottom of other people's Articles, you'll see a list of categories that are relevant to them, and that should give you an idea of what categories are available. At a glance at your article, you could also include <nowiki>[[Category:Artists]], [[Category:Babyfurs]], [[Category:Fox characters]], [[Category:Indiana]], and [[Category:1992 births]].</nowiki> --[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 07:42, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

== My page ==

Hello! I just wanted to thank you for adding my page. I'm pretty new at proper wiki editing, so you'll have to excuse me if some of my edits were a bit spastic. :) Any advice you can give me? What did I do wrong so far? Thanks!{{unsigned|Dorn otter}}

:Hi there, Dorn, and welcome to WikiFur. As an article existed at "Dorn Otter" before "Dorn", the most recent edits I made on your page were to move the original over to "Dorn" (which keeps the page's history intact). What advice can I give you? Hmm... the Article [[Dorn]] should be written in a formal manner, as befits an encyclopaedia. For anything you want to write with a more casual tone (for example, any future plans or personal thoughts on anything), you can place it in your User Page ([[User:Dorn otter]]).
:What might you put in your formal Article? It's up to you, perhaps some information on when/how you joined the furry fandom and how you arrived at an otter fursona? If you've attended any conventions, you could list them, as well as any furry activities you're regularly involved in (creating artwork/fursuiting?) An image of your fursona could be inserted, as well.
: Don't worry about doing anything wrong, there are numerous editors around who will help tweak things and get them in order. Good luck!--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 17:59, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

:There are many, many articles about [[:Category:People|People]] on WikiFur. Perhaps you should browse for a while and get a feel for what information has been put in other articles. Remember, though, don't add to your article just for the sake of making it longer. A short, concise article is better than a long waffling one. If you have a good fursona image, you might like to include it in your article.--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 17:47, 30 January 2009 (UTC)

== What gives? ==

Hey there,

I just received this in email: "The summary of the edit is: 'Article pages should not redirect to User pages'"

I also noticed you have the same kind of [[Higgs_raccoon|page]] set up as what I had.

The purpose of said page was so that entries in categories would look better. It is far better to do this than to have "User:Blah" appear which is much less aesthetically pleasing.

Why did you delete that page?

Curiously,

Xao

[[User:Xaomeow|--]] 18:23, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

:On WikiFur, there may be information on a person in two different places. The first place is their '''User Page''' (eg [[User:Xaomeow]]). User pages can contain whatever a user likes, and can be written in whatever style they find pleasing.
: The second place is their '''Article''', should they or someone else write one. (An article might go at [[Xao Silverclaws]], for example). Unlike a User Page, which can be casually written, Articles have to conform to WikiFur's style guide, which means writing in a formal, enyclopaedic manner.
:It's not considered proper for an Article to simply redirect to a User Page. Thankyou for pointing out someone made an article under my name which pointed to my User Page - this shouldn't be so I have removed the redirect.--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 20:36, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

::Gotcha! Okay, I looked at the one you created and I'll go by what you have there. I can put the bulk of the content in that article along with category listings and with a link to my userpage should anyone be curious or want to talk via wiki. Hadn't considered that before, thanks! --[[User:Xaomeow|Xao Silverclaws]] 21:25, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

::Hey, one more thing. Can you restore that page you deleted so I can modify it to be more of a article and less of a redirect? That way I don't have to spend so much time entering the categories again. Thanks! --[[User:Xaomeow|Xao Silverclaws]] [[User:Xaomeow|--]] 21:31, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

:::OK, I have restored the categories (minus a few unnecessary one) to [[Xao Silverclaws]]. You'll need to add some text now.--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 22:26, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

== Favour to ask ==

Hey,

I appreciate all the edits and everything but there are some categories to which my article fits. Namely,

Category:Otherkin

Category:Therians

Category:Tapestries characters

Category:Furry-Furry Wikifurries

Why is it that these categories are not allowed on my article? I am a member of each and, as such, I believe it is appropriate.

Thank you,

Xao

:Categories should reflect the content of an Article's text. Hence, you need to add '''text''' to the article that would justify them. For example, you would need to add a few sentences describing yourself in the Article as an otherkin, therian, etc. Categories that aren't indicated by an Article's content tend to get removed.--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 07:38, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
::Aha! Okay, I'm hoping to have some time free Tues or Wed to make some edits to that article. --[[User:Xaomeow|Xao Silverclaws]] [[User:Xaomeow|--]] 08:27, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

== Hello ==

Hi there. I'm HornetV2. A friend recommended me to talk to you about creating an article about myself. Also if it is not much to ask, I wanna know if I can also create a separated article for my work. [[User:HornetV2|HornetV2]] 04:44, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

:Hello, HornetV2, and welcome to WikiFur.
:Creating articles is fairly easy. If you click here: [[HornetV2]], you'll find a place where you might create an article about yourself. It's empty at the moment, so you'll need to add some text. If you browse around WikiFur's other articles, you'll get a feel for the style it needs to have. It should be written as a factual, neutrally-worded encyclopaedia article. There are also some help pages here: [[Help:Contents]]
:As a registered user, you'll also have a User Page at [[User:HornetV2]]. This, too, is empty at the moment, but this is where you can write about yourself in a more person, casual way. (ie it doesn't have to be in the formal manner of your Article page.)
:Your work should not have its own page, but you can describe it as part of your Article page ([[HornetV2]]). You should not host your work on WikiFur, but if it's on deviantART or Fur Affinity, or wherever, then you can includes links to those pages on your Article.--[[User:Higgs Raccoon|Higgs Raccoon]] 19:15, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
