Dhary Montecore

2014-07-11T11:50:26Z

Jasonblake: Corrected Brum to Birmingham

[[Image:Lastdescendant.jpg|right|thumb|300px|Last Descendant (art by Shawn Ye)]]
Dhary Montecore, also known as Mohan (born May 1986 in Moenchengladbach, Germany,) is a 269cm tall orange-striped anthropomorphic Siberian tiger.

The person
Dhary first discovered furry during high-school in 1998 when he joined a gaming clan in a cyber cafe in his hometown. Despite this, he did not start actively associating with furs until two years afterwards.

His education ranges from full firefighter training in the volunteer fire department to industrial climbing and rescue. He has worked as a technician in musical productions such as "Wicked" and as a lighting designer in open-air concerts. As of September 2013, he is working as a freelance event technician, specialising in rigging and lighting design. Dhary has also worked as a bouncer and security guard and received the appropriate training.

Dhary is in a closed relationship with Jason Blake, semi-professional photographer, computer science student and DJ. Together they are very active in fandom events, both of them working for the biggest non-US conventions Eurofurence and ConFuzzled. Since Jason lives in the UK due to his studies, Dhary spends a lot of time over there each month.

The name
He adopted the name "Dhary" in honour of a real tiger of that name. His surname "Montecore" was added to honour the father of that tiger. He's nicknamed "Mohan" occasionally, though he claims that that name "is reserved for friends and foes".

Fandom activity and conventions
Dhary attends small gatherings like London Furs or Birmingham meetings occasionally and ConFuzzled and Eurofurence regularly. He is a staff member at both conventions: at Eurofurence he, together with his close friend Gyroplast, act together as the head of security. In 2012 he was asked to fill the post of the deputy chief of security at ConFuzzled, and became head of security in 2013. His involvement in the security teams of furry events was increased further with the establishment of the "MI:3" project early in 2012, of which he is one of the founders.

Dhary can be found on FurNet IRC.

Jason Blake is a designer and developer for SoFurry. He lives in England and his fursona is an otter (although he still commissions art of his original wolf form).

Fandom involvement
Jason has been active in the furry fandom for five yearswhen and yet has only recently started attending meets and events in 2012. He is studying Computer Science and often attends the Birmingham, Manchester or LondonFurs meets. There he can be found photographing the walks and his photos are posted onto his personal Flickr account.

He started off posting music he produced to Fur Affinity but has since moved to using SoundCloud. Jason has DJ'd twice at Frantic Eufuria and at the LondonFurs 2013 Summer Party where a good response sees him likely to return in future events.

He is also a part-time web designer and developer and finds time to work on SoFurry — he is largely influential for a lot of the site's design and layout since 2.0 was launched.
