ConFurgence, formerly MiDFur (Melbourne in December Fur Meet), is an furry convention that has been held annually since 1999 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

History
In late 2012, It was announced that ConFurgence would for the most part, replace MiDFur,cn with the original name being handed back to the community for future use.clarify The theme for the new convention would be Egyptian Nights.

The change was needed due to the growth of the convention, with room running out at the Arrow on Swanston and others being cost prohibitive, and because December is an inconvenience, with university exams falling in that month. Also, changing the month made the name effectively obsolete.

ConFurgence 2014: Egyptian Nights
The first ConFurgence took place between January 10-12, 2014 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center. The convention reported 544 attendees; this figure may not include staff and guests.

The ConFurgence 2014 official charity was the Siberian Husky Rescue, with a last minute decision to split charity beneficiaries between the Siberian Husky Rescue and artist Stan Sakai and wife Sharon Sakai. The total amount raised was $8550, with $7500 of it from the charity auction directly, being sent to the Sakai family.

Guests of honour for ConFurgence 2014 included artists Blotch, Dark Natasha, Latin Vixen and Sardyuon.

Future
ConFurgence 2015: The Dragon Dynasty
ConFurgence 2015 will take place between January 9-11, 2015, and will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Center.Official hotels will be the Hilton Sout Wharf, with other overflow hotels to be determined

The ConFurgence 2015 official charity will be the Save Our Tazzie Devils registered charity.

Guests of honour for ConFurgence 2015 include Alector Fencer, and Clockwork Creatures

Organization
ConFurgence is owned and operated by Australian Fandom Conventions, the same organization who operated MiDFur, and it's still run by the ConFurgence board, of which these partners are equal members.

Staff
* Pete Smith (CynWolfe - Chief executive officer)
* Gary Dean (Fizeo Dethera - Chief financial officer
* Nathan Cooper (StarShadow) - Chief administrative officer
* Timothy Cullen (Efimous Zhivotnaye) - Managing director
* Chris Veitch (Dissonant Jade) - Managing Director

Furry Hall of Fame
Furry Hall of Fame
The Furry Hall of Fame was conceived by CynWolfe in 2008, and its first induction was held that year at MiDFur X. While the Hall has a worldwide reach, and is not intended to be event-specific, its induction ceremony has been organized by AUSFA/AFC and was hosted by MiDFur each year through 2012, but there is no indication so far if it will continue with ConFurgence.
