'''German Furs''' is a German furry community focused on organizing events, meetups, and social activities for enthusiasts of the furry fandom. Primarily based in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), the group operates nationwide and emphasizes a politically neutral, safe-for-work (SFW) environment.

== History ==
German Furs was founded in 2022 as a platform for furry fans in Germany to connect and participate in community events. The group positions itself as a welcoming space for individuals interested in fursuits, anthropomorphic art, and social gatherings, distinct from other furry communities by its strict avoidance of political discussions. It has grown to include online presence on multiple platforms and hosts both virtual and in-person activities.

== Platforms and Activities ==
The community maintains an active online presence to facilitate discussions, event planning, and social interactions:
* '''Telegram''': The primary hub for announcements, with a group link available on the website.
* '''Discord''': Used for real-time chats and virtual meetups.
* '''VRChat''': Hosts immersive virtual events and gatherings.

Activities include in-person meetups and themed events, with a focus on fun, inclusive experiences such as dances and casual outings.

== Policies ==
German Furs enforces a code of conduct that prioritizes political neutrality, prohibiting any discussions or content related to politics to maintain a positive, drama-free atmosphere. The community is strictly SFW, excluding fetish themes or non-furry-related topics. Event dress codes encourage fursuits but require adherence to SFW guidelines, such as no puppymasks or other inappropriate costumes.

== Events ==
The group's events are designed to foster community bonds through social and recreational activities.

=== 2025 Events ===
* '''German Furs Dance (Silvester Edition)''': The community's first major dance event, scheduled for December 31, 2025, at Glemmer Scheuer in Gruibingen. Themed around New Year's Eve celebrations, it includes music, dancing, karaoke, and games, with a €40 entry fee covering snacks and drinks. Fursuits are encouraged, and the event emphasizes a fun, inclusive vibe.
