Lackadaisy is a webcomic created by female artist Tracy J. Butler, set in a Prohibition-era 1927 St. Louis inhabited by anthropomorphic cats. The plot chronicles the fortunes of the Lackadaisy Speakeasy after its founder is murdered.

The style of the comic is highly detailed, and the strips are sepia-toned, resembling aged photographs. Launched on 19 July 2006, the comic updates on an irregular basis, with 24 strips as of mid-January 2007.

Premise
When Prohibition gripped the country in 1920, Atlas May set his eatery, the Little Daisy Café, as the front for a massively successful establishment—the Lackadaisy Speakeasy. Situated within a network of limestone caves at whose mouth the Café is situated, access to the speakeasy is only granted to those showing a club-shaped pin.

With fairly easy access to illegal spirits and a steady clientèle, business burgeons, and the Lackadaisy becomes a premier establishment.

In 1926, however, Atlas was murdered by members of a rival establishment, and management of the Little Daisy and Lackadaisy fell to his widow Mitzi. Patronage at the Lackadaisy gradually fell off, bringing it to the brink of collapse. This is where the comic's story begins.

Cast
Main characters
* Atlas May is the founder of the Little Daisy Café and subsequently the Lackadaisy Speakeasy. He was murdered by members of a rival establishment in 1926, and his widow, Mitzi, is one of the suspects.
* Mitzi May is Atlas' widow and the current owner of the establishment. As its new owner she faces slacking sales, doubts about her ability, and the looming cloud of her husband's murder.
* Roark "Rocky" Rickaby is formerly a violinist in Lackadaisy's jazz band, though with the speakeasy's decline he has become its premier gin and whiskey runner. He has a manic personality which is interrupted only by bouts of surprising insight and also has a MacGyver-esque propensity for escaping from dangerous situations.
* Ivy Pepper is Atlas' goddaughter, a flapper and a university student working the cash register part-time at the Little Daisy. An intelligent, though somewhat volatile girl, Ivy is aware of the goings-on in regards to the speakeasy below.
* Viktor Vasko is a former bootlegger for the speakeasy but has been relinquished, by occupational injuries and advancing age, to less physical tasks. He now serves the speakeasy primarily as its bartender.
* Sedgewick "Wick" Sable made considerable assets off of work in the local mining and quarrying industry. He is a frequent and longstanding Lackadaisy patron, and he is Mitzi's latest escort.
* Nina McMurray is Freckle's mother and Rocky's aunt. She is a devout Irish Catholic and a stern disciplinarian who harbors some gripes with the state of the world in the time of the comic's setting.

* Calvin "Freckle" McMurray is a genteel son to Nina, but perhaps harbors some surprising predispositions. Failing in his bid to become a police officer, Freckle (sometimes not entirely willingly) assists Rocky with carrying out his duties.
* Serafine Savoy is the leader of the rival Marigold gang and self-declared Voodoo priestess. She is also the sister of Nicodeme. (She has yet to appear in the main comic.)
* Nicodeme "Nico" Savoy is the brother of Serafine and a Marigold gang member with a nihilistic demeanor. (He has yet to appear in the main comic.)
* Mordecai Heller is a former employee of Lackadaisy from its glory days. He is now serves the Marigold gang. (Though he has appeared in a preview, he has yet to appear in the main comic.)

Secondary and incidental characters
* Zib is the leader of the Lackadaisy jazz band. He has only appeared in a visual role in the introduction comic.
* A busboy, real name and role currently unknown. He has only appeared in a visual role in the introduction comic.
* Captain Kehoe, though his role hasn't been completely revealed, is a smuggler of liquor and alcohol. He has only appeared in two strips.
*Lacy is the personal assistant to Sedgewick. She has only appeared in one strip.
* The farmers, consisting of Avril, Emery, and an unnamed third, run a farm outside of St. Louis. Avril has appeared in the comic the greatest number of times among the three farmers, appearing in nine comics; the unnamed third appears in six comics; and finally Emery appears in five.

Frostbite Winterhaven

2007-01-12T03:24:31Z

Frostyw: added gender/sex info to characters

Frostbite Winterhaven (or "Frosty") is the fursona of Chris Saia, born in 1975, who discovered and became involved the furry fandom in 1995 through his interest in the Warner Bros. television series Steven Spielberg Presents Animaniacs.

Prior to adopting Frostbite as his fursona in 1999 Chris played the following different characters on EFnet, DALnet and WTnet IRC networks:
* The_Brain, a male, white lab mouse from Pinky and The Brain.
* Minkie, a non-canonical female mink related to Minerva Mink from Animaniacs.
* Hunter, an male, anthropomorphic golden retriever from Road Rovers.

Frosty is a male snowshoe fox, a species he specifically created for his character.

The fox can be found as a regular character as Frostbite on FurryMUCK and as Frostbite Flasheart on Second Life.

Las Lindas

2007-01-12T03:17:00Z

Frostyw: removed a stray paren

Las Lindas is a webcomic created by Chalo in El Salvador, partially written and hosted by SoulKat in California, with assistance and additional writing by ID_Fox in Kentucky. This unlikely team has provided Las Lindas on a weekly update schedule with one full color page per week. Las Lindas (and its host, The Katbox) began on 6 September 2004, and continues through the present, with 139 strips as of mid-December 2006.

Plot Summary
spoiler
rating-14-button2
Las Lindas is focused around a cow named Mora Linda who has recently inherited her father's 433 acre farm and elaborate homestead. In honor of her parent's passing, she decides that she must continue the family business of traditional farming on the now antiquated and dilapidated Las Lindas vegetable farm. Mora is strong-willed, blunt, and independent. And these qualities make her earliest attempts to run the farm difficult as she is quickly overwhelmed. Mora immediately sees that the task of maintaining Las Lindas is beyond her reach alone and is confronted with the challenge of building a team of workers to help her with the farm by non-traditional means.

Mora makes a trip to the nearby port town of Gossamer where she puts her feminine charms to use. She soon gets the attention of Miles Lionheart, a cat, and he agrees to work for her, believing she runs a brothel or something similar. But Miles discovers soon enough that he had been hired for farm labor, while Mora discovers that Miles tends toward laziness if not properly motivated.

On a subsequent trip into Gossamer, Mora is harassed by a couple of thugs who are run off by Minos, a bull. Minos soon demonstrates that he is incredibly strong, and Mora hires him for the farm as well, believing that with him around she won't need Miles anymore. In addition, Mora is very attracted to Minos, but the silent, enigmatic bull does not respond to her advances. So Mora uses Miles in a last-ditch effort to get to Minos, then fires the cat. However, her effort backfires when Minos quits after seeing how she treated Miles.

Miles returns to Gossamer to seek shelter with Taffy, a cocktail waitress bunny whom he had met previously. Still unable to run the farm on her own, Mora tries to patch things up with Minos, but he is only willing to return if she rehires Miles as well, who in turn asks that she hire Taffy. Mora agrees, and Taffy soon establishes herself as the peacemaker of the group.

Mora has a chance encounter with Idward Focks, an Arctic fox whom Mora had dated previously. Idward still holds a candle for Mora but she can't stand him, and Miles becomes annoyed when it looks as though he also has his sights on Taffy. United by a common enemy, Mora and Miles work together to hatch and pull off a plot to get rid of Idward.

Mora is soon approached by Alejandra, a cow who evidently has a past of some sort with Mora. Alej, the archetypal corporate bully, is now is a shrewd business executive and runs a much larger and more modern farm near Gossamer. She tells Mora she is interested in buying Las Lindas. It is unclear what Alej's motives are, but Mora finds out that the thugs who harassed her earlier are employees of Alejandra. A fight ensues, and Minos convinces Mora to leave before the situation escalates further.

Sarah Silkie and Rachael Saleigh, both cats, then arrive at the farm. The energetic, child-like Sarah, and the more serious big-sister figure Rachael had been living by their wits for some time before arriving at Las Lindas. After a couple of failed attempts to improve their lot at the expense of the farm, the two of them agree to play it straight and stay on board.

Ambar, the High Prime of Neo Earth enters the scene to break up another fight between Alej and Mora, at the request of Minos. Afterward she sits down with Sarah and tells the background story of Neo Earth. She departs soon after giving Mora a golden arm band.

Digit is the Resident Spirit of the Las Lindas farm. She appeared when Mora activated the armband. In the begining she had a lot of trouble fitting in. It seemed whenever she tried to help someone, she hurt them. After gaining trust from and bonding with Mora, she recieved her "Interphase Terminals" which helped better apologize for her accidents.

Chalo is resposible for Las Lindas and a great majority of the illustrated content on the Katbox to date.

SoulKat is The Katbox's system administrator, as much as that word implies by having a remote host, owner, and representative of the Katbox for technical support and user feedback. Chalo has allowed SoulKat to submit scripts for the story of Las Lindas, which may or may not be used.

ID_Fox is a surrogate writer that has aided Las Lindas' written development exclusively and owns a recurring character in the story. ID. joined the Katbox team as a permanent member in early October and has since then assisted directly in the production of the comic.

Frostyw:

Thank you for starting this article about yourself, Aphinity! I've attached the cleanup template to it, as it needs some tweaking to match WikiFur's style; at a quick glance, I see that you've bolded a number of terms; we only bold the name of the article (or other names noted), and section headings (automatically bolded). I suggest a read through (or skimming, it is rather long!) the Help:Furry Book of Style. You don't need to make all the changes yourself, if you don't have time or energy, or are unclear; that's one of the real joys about a wiki. -- Sine 23:25, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
:I've done lots and lots of cleanup on the article, bringing it closer to the standards referenced in the Help:Furry Book of Style. In addition I've made several editing changes to hopefully make the document flow a little better. Hopefully I have not overstepped my bounds! Frosty 01:18, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

When it was still unfinished, he chose to wear it for Howloween 2006, his first ever furry convention. He continued to work on it and made substantial improvements to it for his use at Further Confusion 2006.

Welcome to WikiFur! We are a freely-editable encyclopedia of the furry fandom and related topics. You started the articles Deivii and Shota-seme; neither of the articles mention any connection to the furry fandom or furry topics. Could you clarify why you started the articles here? -- Sine 23:15, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

:Hello Sine. If you think this isn't enough I'm sorry and I'll go remove the articles. It's because they both will be having their feature as anthros in Yayako's story she is cuurently writing. But because they haven't shown up yet I thought not to put any accidental spoilers before discussing with Yayako what I will/can put there. -- Version4 Dead 01:02, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

It might be a good idea, then, to perhaps mention that they have an upcoming project in the fandom, which might make the articles more relevant. Frosty 01:04, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

I just cleaned this up, but I'm not seeing any reference or connection to furry, except for the vague "doesn't like anthropomorphic art but doesn't hate it" paragaph which didn't seem to say anything much and I deleted. -- Sine 22:07, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

:"As a warning should be said that Shota doesn't hate anthropomorphic art but neither she does like it. If you treat her like she hated the furry fandom she will start hate it." Sooo,... what's the point of having entry about an almost non-furry drawing artist which almost doesn't like the genre? Spirou 22:40, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

I don't understand why this pair of articles (Shota-seme and Deivii) are here. It doesn't seem these people have anything to do with the Furry Fandom at all. Frosty 22:43, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Frostbite (or Frosty) is the fursona of Chris Saia, who discovered the furry fandom through his interest in the Warner Bros series Animaniacs and his subsequent participation in the EFnet IRC #animaniacs channel in 1995 and DALnet #watertower channel in 1996. Chris has since gone on in late 1996 to co-found the WTnet IRC Network with fellow participant Yakko as a new home for the now defunct DALnet channels.

Frosty is a snowshoe fox, a variation on the traditional arctic fox.

A pretty good History of FurryMUCK was prepared by Jahangiri, covering 1990 to 2000:

Here is a summary:
*August 1990: FurryMUCK is founded at North Carolina State University (or more specifically, at the Furry Home at Squirrel Hill) as a successor to Islandia when the previous idea (DisneyMUCK) fails to work out, with original wizards Drew Maxwell, his housemates Ashtoreth, Shaterri, Centaur, and Erych, Abigail (Claire Benedikt), Ryuuko and Bluemage - Revar, lynx and Tugrik arrive shortly after the launch
*Spring 1991: FurryMUCK outgrows the resources and moves to the University of California at Irvine. Siegfried became a wizard, as did Lionman, Carelia, and Tugrik; Erych left soon after. Archteryx was made a wizard for a few days by Drew without approval and was dewizzed shortly after.
*April 1991: The original taxi, the Cafe Rose, and Lynx's truffel program are installed; 10,000 objects reached
*October 1991: 20,000 objects reached
*November 1991: FurryMUCK is forced to move to Carnegie-Mellon University (Shaterri's workplace) by the actions of a user called Bruce
*1992: Helpstaff formed; lynx, Revar, Mishael, Kimi and Riss are made wizards, while Ashtoreth, Carelia, Lionman, and Siegfried resign - Revar resigns later in the year
*August 1992: 50,000 objects reached
*September 1992: FurryMUCK is deleted, but mostly restored from Revar's backups; relaunched at the University of Toronto with Chris Siebemann administering
*New Year's Day 1993: The Quicksilver virus written by Targhan infects the MUCK, diverting all conversation to Yozduk, who posts the log on rec.games.mud.tiny
*Spring 1993: The Demons vs Angels role-play takes place
*April 1993: 75,000 objects reached
*Summer 1993: A PG-13 rating is enforced in the Park
*October 1993: S'A'Alis begins hosting FurryMUCK, becoming a wizard shortly afterwards
*March 1994: Wired publishes Johnny Manhattan Meets the Furry Muckers, and FurryMUCK gets a deluge of sex-seekers
*July 1994: 100,000 objects reached
*Mid-1994: Triggur is elected as Mayor of FurryMUCK
*1995: Data corruption on the move to a new server causes FurryMUCK to finally implement proper backup procedures; Kimi retires from the wizcorp, Nightwind replaced her, and K'has, O'Nara and Slipstream joined too, while AJWolf "acquires" the mayoralty
*July 1995: 125,000 objects reached
*Late 1995: Lumpy the Squirrel, the primary source of urine in the FurryMUCK park pond, is finally toaded once and for all; the pool is thoroughly cleaned afterwards
*February 1996: The passing of the CDA causes FurryMUCK to implement age restrictions on certain areas for people below 18 years of age
*March 1996: Vulpine, one of several who has falsely declared his age to pass the restrictions files an affidavit with the ACLU - the result was his permanent banning, after much discussion on alt.fan.furry.muck and elsewhere
*November 1996: Chip Unicorn and Points join as wizards at ConFurence 7 in 1996, while Frang takes over as Mayor
*1997: Mishael retires as wizard
*July 1997: 175,000 objects reached
*October 1997: Toast is elected as Mayor
*9 February 1998: FurryMUCK records 500 simultaneous users
*June-August 1998: Debate over the use of the wixxx flag pedophile causes it to be pulled and replaced with WhatIsz (retaining the same global 'wixxx' command) and the watered-down, politically correct euphemism "ageplay"
*August 1998: Inari is elected as Mayor
*31 October 1998: FurryMUCK temporarily becomes FurryMORGUE, the last 99 & 44/100% gangrenous Furry TinyMu*
*February 1999: Points and Slipstream retire from wizarding
*April 1999: Brenda added to wizcorp as coder, while Riss is dewizzed due to lack of time, leaving amicably
*11 April 1999: FurryMUCK moves to a dedicated server
*June 1999: Silent Red resigns as a wizard
*July 1999: Aragh becomes a PR wizard
*June 1999: Rosa de Stitches is elected Mayor, only to step down a few months later amidst controversy
*October 2000: @shout is removed over age concerns and abuse. A private version called "Scream", written by Sarusa, fills the void left by @shout. Being outside of wizard control, it is not censored and becomes a community of its own.
*March 2001: Dwight Dutton started an eBay auction on the domain names furrymuck.com/net/org. The wizards were not pleased (see this post to a.f.f. by Shaterri), and shut the auction down, but not before it reached $500. Darrel Exline, the high bidder, bought the names for $550, and later let the domain registrations lapse. Triggur bought them and donated them back to FurryMUCK. The domains are now managed by lynx. One result was an increased highlighting of the use of the term "FurryMUCK" as a service mark.

Places
In general, all public areas of FurryMUCK are officially PG-13, although conversation has a habit of straying into more mature topics. Private areas, and areas specified for the purpose, may have a higher rating. See also FurryMUCK locations for significant locations with their own articles.

Hermaphrodite Haven
The Hermaphrodite Haven (t hh) is an establishment for hermaphrodite enthusiasts and fetishists, party to both hermaphrodite or shemale characters and those who enjoy roleplay with them. The grounds are age-locked against minors for sexually explicit behavior. Founded by Tulip, it is now operated by Shadow. Most activity actually takes place in the clubhouse grounds, although there is a truth or dare room inside. Nearby is Lake Hermy, and adjacent to the Haven are the Hermaphrodite Estates, a set of strictly herm-only residences. The structure has been 'under construction' for the better part of a decade, functionally frozen.

Libertyville Nude Beach
Libertyville Nude Beach (t lnb) is another age-locked social hangout. Characters must be equipped with a nude description before entering.

Willing Victims Guild
The Willing Victims Guild (t wvg), age-locked, is designed to bring dominant and submissive characters together to arrange roleplay. Safeword rules and BDSM conventions apply.

The Emerald City Tavern
An adult rated area for casual discussion and socialization. Similar to the West Corner of the Park, but with no conversational age limit. Maintained by Sorien and Cuprohastes.

Regular events
* The Owlhaven Literary Lounge has weekly story readings every Tuesday night at 7pm CST (GMT-6)

Programming
FurryMUCK offers two types of programming:
*MPI, a Lisp inspired text-replacement language used by most regular players for simple scripts
*MUF, typically used for more complex operations and to implement system actions - apprentice access typically granted on request

Organization
FurryMUCK is run by its wizards, those responsible for keeping it up and running smoothly.

Mayors of FurryMUCK
FurryMUCK has historically also had a Mayor, typically elected, although the mayoralty has been known to pass hands for as much as $1.37, and little as the wag of a tail. It was an official part of the process that new mayors were selected in a different way each time. The first mayor was selected by a relatively fair election, so all others thereafter were selected by varying other methods, all deliberately corrupt in some way. Bribery, nepotism, theocracy, and vote-buying were all used.

The joke is that despite the good–natured (and otherwise) hullabaloo over the selection process, the post is almost entirely symbolic. The only responsibility of the Mayor being to change the name of the currency. One day you may be strolling through the park and see "You found a reason to taunt a fox!" and the next you might see "You have 234 catnip mice." Toast explains:

:A good mayor changes the currency frequently, no less than every other day, RL permitting.

Past Mayors and how they lost their title include:

* Triggur (mid-1994 to February 1995) - position bought out in a shady deal with Tugrik
* AJWolf (February 1995 to January 1996) - sold for loose change at ConFurence 7
* Frang (January 1996 - October 1997?) - lost in a corrupt election where the votes could be bought
* Toast (October 1997 - August 1998) - delivered to a god by material sacrifice
* Inari (August 1998 - July 2000?) - lost a contentious election
* Rose de Stitches - (July 2000 - August 2000?) - dethroned after protests, the wizards got annoyed and declared the Mayoralty suspended

While players have asked for the Mayorship contest to return, so far the wizards have not re-approved the event.

The Furry Wrestling Alliance, or FWA, is a roleplaying group similar to real-world wrestling and shootfighting promotions that has a primary focus on wrestling. It was formed in March 2005 by Tony Greyfox.

The FWA is set in a converted warehouse in Vancouver, Canada.

Concept
Formed in the wake of issues arising in other furry cyber-wrestling roleplay groups, the FWA is designed to be an open and non-confrontational organization where players take part in matches of various kinds - mostly public, but occasionally with adult content - with a focus on entertainment, rather than competition. The intention is to build fun and entertaining storylines between characters, instead of confrontational issues that often get in the way of the fun value.

New members are asked to sign in at the Yahoo! group and submit a biography of their proposed character for moderators to evaluate; this is to ensure a high level of characterization and roleplay abilities. Once approved, the players are provided access to the IRC channels and encouraged to join the activity there.

<div style="clear:both"></div>
Talent roster
(Note: This is not a complete list of the active 'talent' at the FWA, which will be made, but a partial list of some of the more prominent members.)

Richard D. Fox and Sage Freehaven
*In mid-2005, not long after the formation of the FWA, Sage Freehaven lost a match (which, at the time, was a regular occurrence for him). When Richard D. Fox called him out on his losing streak, Sage snapped and challenged him to a Loser Leaves match (the loser of the match would, obviously, have to leave the FWA). Two weeks later, the match took place -- and while special guest referee Qaianna Illespont was distracted, Richard hit Sage with a pair of brass knuckles, allowing him to execute a DDT and pin Sage without a fight. Humiliated and disgusted, Sage left the FWA the next day. However, after a year of traveling (including time abroad in Japan), Sage returned to the FWA to gain revenge on both Richard and Qaianna. His return was marked with an impromptu match with Qaianna, who promptly flattened him in a few minutes. This, however, would lead into Sage eventually (and somewhat begrudgingly) being welcomed back into the FWA. A couple of months after Sage's return, he would claim the Hardcore Belt as his own, and this led into yet another impromptu match with Qaianna -- this time, Sage emerged victorious after hitting Qaianna with a Van Daminator. But the next week, Richard managed to steal the belt from under the overconfident Sage's nose; when he started a broadcast that would see him deface the belt with a sledgehammer, fire, and his own urine, Richard set off a pyrotechnics blast while Sage was on the stage near the FWA's video monitor. Although he later recovered the belt, Sage would be left with temporarily damaged hearing and a hatred for very loud noises. So far since his return, Sage has yet to face Richard in the ring again.
