Both are typically hosted by Commander Kitsune along with other panelists.

Here, furries from each branch of the service and also veterans can meet others like them and discuss over food or panels topics of interest.

LJ MilFurs
The Military Furries LiveJournal community, moderated by Ken Redtail and Commander Kitsune, is open to all furries of all branches of the service, even if they're just reserve.

They accept both active duty and former, whether retired or just completion of obligated service. It has been commonly affectionately referred to as the Furry American Legion or VFW.

The community also accept members of any military that is currently an ally of the United States of America. Also welcome are furries that are interested in joining the military and wanting to learn more about what the lifestyle entails.

Rules of the community include no military bashing or interbranch bashing with the exception of light military humor. Operational security (OPSEC) is strictly enforced by the moderators so as to not endanger the safety of troops.

Military Furs Forum
On July 17, 2008, the Military Furs Forum was created by Flinch Ferrex. Not intended to replace its LiveJournal community counterpart, it was created to offer another venue for Military Furries.

The forum offers a variety of boards for chatter, discussion and debate, role-playing, and artwork both military and non-military in nature.

Like the LJ Community, the forum is open to military members of all branches in the United States or any of its allies, be they currently serving, retired or discharged. Unlike the LJ Community this forum does not give membership to civilians, military spouses, or military dependants as it was created solely for military members.

Furs with Bad Conduct or Dishonorable discharges are discouraged from joining, but are not banned from the forum.

References
<references/>

External links
* Military Furries - LiveJournal community
* Military Furs Forum website

Flinch:

Feralys is a small furry pirate role-playing crew wandering the seas of Shoalrije. Its captain, Princess Rei Keishana, leads the crew on a series of adventures called Episodes, in pursuit of establishing a fearsome reputation, an enjoyable life, and to also accomplish every members' personal goals and desires.

Birth of Feralys
Feralys was started in 2004 by a small group of High School friends living in Austin, Texas. The small group consisted of a few furries and furry friends around the school, also led by Princess Rei and Tsune Murasame. Upon declaring themselves "pirates," the name and symbol were developed to represent this harmless group of friends. Feralys, named after the old Shoulrijean goddess of revenge and storms (also a play on the word 'Feral'), is represented with a cursive "F" and a sword through it. It is usually displayed on a black flag to warn people that they are still pirates.

Map of Feralys
Shoalrije is a small region in which Feralys has intentions of exploring. The crew lives in a small cave located in between the Zegi Cliffs. The Zegi Cave is a fairly developed mansion-like residence, with rooms for each member, main character or not, to reside. Near the eastern area of the Zegi Cliffs is where Feralys's favorite bar, Tommy T's Pearl Bar and Inn hides from the open seas. Its secret location is an advantage to pirates, where it remains invisible to Naval Forces patrolling the area.

Crew members
Former Captain Tsune Murasame was originally put in charge to lead the crew for the first two Episodes. After his absence, Princess Rei stepped up from Quartermaster to Captain, also appointing Eddy Dobhran as her First Mate, who keeps members together and to keep the ship and Zegi Caves well maintained. Princess Rei also recruited a few other curious members, who are now Feralys's strongest fighters. Main Characters also include Jenna (played by Flinch Ferrex), Ryudo Lee, his son Koji, Nanaku, Dr. Rotvang, Rubian, Crystal, and Minza.

Recent adventures
Feralys is soon rewarded a new ship from Dr. Ybrad for protecting his land, and his secret project. Though, as he least suspected, Feralys has betrayed him by stealing his precious map, and thus discovering a deep dark secret yet to be revealed... the secret of why he is so desperate to hide this new development, and why he doesn't want anyone to interfere.
While on this new adventure Feralys recently met the Meerkat Clan, a new rival pirate gang lead by Kiapa Sequine. After a battle that left both sides wounded the two ships are now enemies.

External links
*Feralys Website - Website on Lupinia
*Forum on Lupinia
*[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/feralys/ Yahoo!

Furs with Bad Conduct or Dishonorable discharges are discouraged from joining, but are not banned from the forum.

References
<references/>

External links
* Military Furries - LiveJournal community

Flinch: /* Name, Rank, and Serial Number? */

Should we have a list of MilFurs on this page?
I recall a recent discussion on another article where it was questioned whether we should allow articles to have lists of information that are collected from other sources, and whether that would constitute using WikiFur as a webspace provider. I'm wondering the same thing about the list on this page.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't have the information on the wiki, but I'd like to suggest a couple of alternative ways to present it:
* A category called "MilFurs" or similar
* A resource template, to be included from the article of each person, which lists name, rank, and other attributes that are currently on the list, and optionally including a "MilFurs" category as well.

I'd be willing to implement either/both of those two solutions, but I'd like to hear what others think first. Am I going down the right path here? --Douglas Muth 14:58, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

:Heh, didn't know I still existed on this list. :P Perhaps we should add list of contact emails/IMs/profiles as well? 208.54.14.33

::(*Sigh*) Yes, I started it as just documenting Shockwave's old MILFur list on ALF, last updated on 2000, I looked at the almost finished article, it looked at little dry an jumble, so I thought "Could I table it?" (FyI, this was my first attempt on creating tables, oy,...,) and it looked good! =)

::...Then it looked like something we just deal with recently, as you, Dmuth, have also noticed (doh.) I was going to argue that "no, this is, well... My contribution (one based on one of Dmuth's suggestions:
::*An article, MILFurs (Duty roster) with the tabled information puled from this article, and then linked back to it with a note in MILFurs announcing something like "For a roster of all present or former, active or reserve furry servicemen/servicewomen, please see:" Just my two cents Spirou 19:15, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

:::I think a List of MILFurs could be interesting to have, so long as it's not duplicating an outside source. Xp Apologies, Navy paperwork flashbacks Spirou 23:58, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Reason for revert
I reverted the blanking for several reasons:

*A) This is a list that been published for several years with no problems with the concern of privacy.
*B) I known most of said MilFurs, as I'm one, and have yet to have one ask me to remove their names, as I ask their permissions to add it here, as they were more than honored.
*C) Several of the newer ones were entered by the users themselves after announcing the the inclusion on Wikifur, so those could be the ones asking to be removed, as they know they can remove themselves

So, you may ask the specific parties to remove themselves, as they are free to do so, or ask a Wikifur Admin for that task in case of a problem of doing directly for privacy reasons (an Admin, not an editor. See :Category:Voluntarily excluded people.) In fact, this is the first I have ever heard anyone cite OPSEC. --Douglas Muth 05:52, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

:One of the issues here is the usage of real names. A number of MILFurs have brought it to my concern as the moderator of the LJ community that the usage of real names presents an issue. Many furs don't like having their real names out there and there raises an issue of any anti-military persons getting a hold of a list of real names and causing potential harm. Personally, I like the list! Can this table be revised to omit real names? But, some people on the list are quite happy (or don't care what people may think of their Military service career) to display their name, so it's a juggling act to respect both camps.

::Just pass the word if their names being displayed could be a concern, themselves (it's a living/self-editable document,) or an Admin will be more than happy to effect such removal =) Spirou 21:03, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Logos
Noticing we picked up a Canadian member.
Flinch:

Feralys is a small furry pirate Role Playing crew wandering the seas of Shoalrije.

Feralys, a derivation of the word Feral, is represented with a cursive "F" and a sword through it.

Main Characters also include Jenna (played by Flinch Ferrex), Ryudo Lee, his son Koji, Nanaku, Karma, Rubian, and Crystal.

Recent Adventures
Referred by Feralys's favorite bartender, Feralys and the crew headed East to embark on a simple mission to protect a cougar named Dr. Ybrad from Military interference of a secret project. With his base built deep beneath a vast, dry terrain, local pirates were hired to protect his location and scare off Naval Forces from the island. His local group, called the "Hunters," had been weakened off as they were preyed upon by a neighboring enemy clan. Ybrad recieved news of Feralys' arrival, and therefore prepared a ship, expecting the worst of their arrival.
Feralys was ambushed, where members were scattered, weakened, and washed to shore without their ship. Ybrad and his nurses immediately sought the members, and quickly nursed them back to health. The crew members remain on the island until Ybrad builds them a new ship to continue their journeys.

External links
*Feralys Website - Website on Lupinia
*Forum on Lupinia
*[http://www.groups.yahoo.com/group/feralys/ Yahoo!
