'''Bittersweet Candy Bowl''' is an [[anthropomorphic]] webcomic by Veronica “Taeshi” Vera. It is essentially a high school drama-comedy about a group of friends and follows their lives from middle school to junior year, and focuses on the relationships between each character. Lucy, Michael, Paulo, Daisy, David and Sandy grew up together at the same schools.

There’s many small plots about the everyday things the characters engage in. The more drawn-out ordeals depicted in the comic concern the introduction of characters like Abbey and Augustus, Lucy’s ongoing struggle to figure out what she really thinks about Mike, Daisy’s deliberations about her self-image, and Abbey’s efforts to confront family issues from his childhood. The comic is written in chapters. It’s most rewarding when read in depth, as each storyline builds upon another.

== Characters ==
{{spoiler}}
'''Lucy:''' 14 year old cat, born November 7th, Lucy is the potentially bipolar female protagonist. An occasionally friendly ''Khao Manee'', she has a sensitive side and is wrought with insecurities, but would rather punch you in the face than expose them. She has a very huge crush on her best friend, '''Michael''' but has not admitted it to him or herself until now.

'''Michael:''' 15 year old cat, born August 10th, Michael is the humble male protagonist. A generally easy-going, thoughtful ''Korat'', Michael (or “Mike” or “Maishul” called that by Sandy, his model girlfriend) is adored by most girls but they end up causing most of his problems. As the most athletic member of the group, he is an excellent runner, much to Lucy’s dismay.

'''Daisy:''' 15 year old cat, born September 27th, Daisy is smart and cheerful. She spends a lot of her time studying alongside cheerleading. A ''Selkirk Rex'' and ''Ragamuffin'' mix, she longs to be considered more than the group’s “little sister”. Daisy used to have a huge crush on '''Michael''', but got over it and hooked up '''Abbey''', who had a crush on her.

'''Paulo:''' 15 year old cat, born April 16th, Paulo is bold and brazen, as he regularly hits on girls and is often competitive with his friends. Always interested in impressing others, this womanising ''Somali'' genuinely concerns for his friends and is a good confidant. Paulo is struggling with the thought of having to pick to be with his lust, '''Lucy''' or the love of his life '''Tess''',(a senior at the high school) who sadly claims that they can never be together do to the large age difference. He is also second tallest and third most athletic of the group.

'''David:''' 14 year old dog(the youngest group member and only dog) born February 22, David is a eternally chipper, dimwitted ''chocolate Labrador Retriever'' and '''Paulo'''’s best friend. David could generally be considered as the comic relief of the story but he sometimes makes very astute observations. He is the tallest and second most athletic of the group.

'''Abbey:''' 15 year old cat, born July 25, Abbey is the chivalrous new member of the group. Abbey’s struggle with his troubled past sometimes shows in his behaviour. He is kind and helpful to others, but if this ''Abyssinian''’s moral code is broken, he can lash out(he has a huge grudge against '''Augustus''', a mysterious senior, for reasons unknown). He is currently dating '''Daisy'''.

== Location ==
The story takes place on a small island called '''Caribbean Blue''', located in the southern Caribbean. It's fairly small, measuring only 800 meters at its longest point. Still, it's rather well developed for an island of this size, due to its historical use as a military base and more recently, a tourist hotspot.

== Characters ==
'''Tina:''' The only member of CB that is actually a furry. She is a tigress that is smart enough to get by, but ignorant enough to be consider on the dumb side. She tends to be a bit of a klutz and the main source of comic relief.

'''Yuki:''' A nekomimi and one of the main characters of CB. She's Tina's best friend and tends to be the brains and reasonable one.

'''Nekonny:''' A talking cat who used to be a human that was friends with Tina and Yuki. He is now posing their pet cat until he can return to human form again. Nekonny's transformation happened in a side comic series called "Tina Online."

'''Maya:''' Grew up on CB. Was originally a cat, but was somehow transformed into a nekomimi. Currently resides at the Inn where she works and often fights with Tina

== Plot Summary ==
{{spoiler}}

Tina, Yuki and Nekonny arrive on Caribbean Blue intent to begin their vacation on this tropical paradise. However, their dreams of a quiet, secluded vacation are quickly shattered as they arrive at the immigration office. The locals are fascinated by their cat like features, and the Governor of the island (Taco Paco) appears to personally greet the newcomers. He tells them of a local legend; that a nekomimi warrior is destined to return and once again battle a great evil.

The nekomimis check into their hotel and meet its owner (Rose) as well as her adopted nekomimi daughter (Maya). Maya has no recollection of her past and how she became a nekomimi. Rose explains how she came across Maya after losing her cat near the islands mountain lighthouse. Nekonny becomes excited upon hearing this and they set off to visit the location (he has come to a conclusion that Maya and Roses former cat are one and the same, and this island legend may be a way for him to regain his former human form). Their search proves unfruitful, but they decide to remain on the island and continue looking. Back at the inn, Tina offers a proposal, to work in exchange for for a place to stay. Despite Maya's protests, Rose agrees to this.

The cast go on to meet other residents of the island; Kimi (a local cat who becomes interested in him), Alice (police officer and nekocat enthusiast), and the cat twins Mika and Muna (called twins although they look nothing alike).

Nekonny eventually locates an important artifact pertaining to the legend and provokes the curiosity of a unknown entity. It dispatches a single avatar to "observe" what is going on. In the meantime, Tina, Yuki and Maya do some research of their own, as they explore a sunken sub in search of clues.

The current storyline has Nekonny facing off against the avatar, who has already managed to defeat all opposition to it's "observations".

== Characters ==
{{Spoilers}}

'''Lucy''': 14 year old cat, born November 7th, Lucy is the potentially bipolar female protagonist. An occasionally friendly ''Khao Manee'', she has a sensitive side and is wrought with insecurities, but would rather punch you in the face than expose them. She has a very huge crush on her best friend, '''Michael''' but has not admitted it to him or herself until now.

'''Michael''': 15 year old cat, born August 10th, Michael is the humble male protagonist.

'''Daisy''': 15 year old cat, born September 27th, Daisy is smart and cheerful.

'''Paulo''': 15 year old cat, born April 16th, Paulo is bold and brazen, as he regularly hits on girls and is often competitive with his friends. Always interested in impressing others, this womanising ''Somali'' genuinely concerns for his friends and is a good confidant. Paulo is struggling with the thought of having to pick to be with his lust, '''Lucy''' or the love of his life '''Tess''',(a senior at high school) who sadly claims that they can never be together do to a large age difference. He is also second tallest and third most athletic of the group.

'''David''': 14 year old dog(the youngest group member and only dog) born February 22, David is a eternally chipper, dimwitted ''chocolate Labrador Retriever'' and '''Paulo'''’s best friend. David could generally be considered as the comic relief of the story but he sometimes makes very astute observations. He is the tallest and second most athletic of the group.

'''Abbey''': 15 year old cat, born July 25, Abbey is the chivalrous new member of the group.
