Fen-Fen: /* Current Fursona */

Fen-Fen is a furry artist from Savannah, Georgia. She goes by numerous names in the fandom, including Citronne, Tristesse, Hina, Fen-Fen, and Lemon Panda.

Fursonas
Five years ago, Fen-Fen discovered the fandom through a friend (who was not a furry herself). Her friend told her that the concept of furry was a very good match for her personality. After reading more about the fandom and joining Furtopia, she decided to join the fandom as a Fennec Fox. During these years, her aspect of the fandom has changed drastically from when she first discovered it. Nevertheless, she has maintained some form of connection with the fandom (art sites, forums, etc).

Fen-Fen's fursona has changed from a Fennec Fox named Hina, to a Red Panda named Citronne, and then to a Maine Coon Feline named Tristesse. Fen-Fen's view of these characters are that they are merely a representation of herself, and only feels a slight connection to them. When her representation changed, it's usually done during a change in her personal life.

Current Fursona
After breaking up with her fiance in the December of '08, Fen-Fen wanted to create a new fursona and try to have a "new beginning". She realized that even when she joined the fandom, she always had an affinity for felines whether they were domestic cats or big cats. Instead of opting for a Pallas Cat fursona, she decided to go with a Maine Coon fursona because she found the cat to match her physically and mentally. The influence also came from her pet cat who is part Maine Coon.

After getting her initial design down, Fen-Fen decided to make the new found fursona look more like her physically. This included giving her glasses, making her a bit overweight, and having shoulder-length brown hair. After dwelling on a name for a few months, she decided to name her Tristesse, French for "sadness," or "gloominess," which is what she felt like at the time her fursona was concieved. Despite feeling content with Tristesse's design, she decided to tinker with it a bit more and eventually it looked more as what she would like to be as opposed to what she actually is.

With Tristesse's makeover, her hair grew longer, was made a more orange-brown color, and she was given an industrial, a lip ring on the right side of her bottom lip, and two corset piercings on her sides. Finally, she was given furred wings that sprout from her shoulder blades, a genetic condition making her known to most as a winged cat. She still retains her curvy shape as an attempt to show to others that curviness can be aesthetically pleasing.

Tristesse usually dresses in casual wear like jeans and fitted blouse. She is sometimes found in pinup-esque (most usually black and white with polka dots) and lolita clothing. She sometimes indulges in her guilty pleasure of wearing scene clothing, but this is rare.

Fandom Activities
Compared to four or five years ago, Fen-Fen is more of a watcher of the fandom than an active participant. She has a Fur Affinity account along with a (lesser updated) Deviant Art account. She is on a few furry-oriented forums including Furtopia, Fur Affinity Forums, and Furrie Haven. Along with this, she organizes local furmeets and activities with other furry members of the community.

Fen-Fen: Hina moved to Fen-Fen over redirect: New username

Hina is a furry artist from Savannah, Georgia, U.S.A, with a fennec fox / feline fursona. Hina is mated to Arashi, and has been in the community since March of 2005.

History
Two years ago, as an art student, Hina conceived the idea of a fox fursona. But feeling 'fox' was a little generic, she did some research on different kinds of foxes. Finding a picture of a Fennec Fox, she decided to model her fursona after its likeness.

Over the past two years, Hina has undergone a lot of changes. Her first draft was of a typical Fennec Fox with purple hair cut in a 'bob' style. Next, she had a more 'emo' or 'scene' look. The base color of her hair remained purple, with two black stripes in front. She also adopted two piercings, one in each ear. She typically wears bright colored tank-tops with a black skirt and matching stockings in a striped black & color pattern. The most recent change was from a full fennec fox, to a fennec/feline hybrid, though the only hints at her feline roots are a longer and fluffier tail, and a rounder, shorter muzzle.

Hiatus From The Fandom
Over the summer, Hina took a break from the furry fandom, which had begun to annoy her. She still drew anthropomorphic characters and enjoyed talking about the fandom. Over her hiatus she met Arashi, a panda furry from Montreal, Quebec. She finally returned from her hiatus but still keeps a low profile.

History
Two years ago, Shelby, an art student concieved the idea of a fox fursona. She decided to not choose the generic 'fox' title so she searched up different foxes. Coming to a picture of a Fennec Fox, she decided to model her fursona after the likeness of that animal. Over the past two years, Hina underwent alot of changes. Her first draft was of a typical Fennec Fox with purple hair cut into a bob style. Next, she had a more 'emo' or 'scene' look. The base color of her hair being purple and two stripes in the front of her hair being black. She adapted two piercings, one in each ear. She typically wears tanktops of bright colors with a black skirt along with matching stockings in a 'color-black' striped pattern. The last final change occured with her lineage. She is now a Fennec fox / feline hyrbid. The only hints at her feline roots being her longer and fluffier tail paired with a rounder, shortened muzzle.
