Fabi Fox is the alias of Fabian Jansen, a 3D computer-graphic artist. Fabi was born on September 30th, 1988 in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany but moved to South Wales in July 1999.

Creative work
Fabi is not a furry artist, although he is a fan of anthro art. He is a computer graphic modeller, specialising in the use of Maxon's Cinema 4D package.

Fabi's portfolio consists mainly of static renders and short animation sequences inspired by science fiction series such as Star Trek, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate SG-1.

Fursona
While Fabi decided that he wished his fursona to be a Red Fox, the actual design work behind the character was done by a local friend of his, an anthro artist who goes by the name Edilith. The character resembles how Fabi himself appears in real life.

TrekWars: The Furry Conflict

TrekWars: The Furry Conflict is a dramatic parody of Star Trek and Star Wars, mixing together elements from both in a furry context. The episodic story has spawned a website, accompanying audio drama, forums and more.

* Address: http://www.furryconflict.com/

The Furry Conflict is a creative and critical take-off of Star Trek and Star Wars (not necessarily in that order) set in a cartoon-like world. Though a parody of the two highly successful science fiction franchises, The Furry Conflict has a major dramatic element in it's storyline which helps to provide a fresh and unique insight into each universe. With a cast of original characters, a well-thought out premise, and a community dedicated to a quality product, The Furry Conflict is as much a take-off of Star Trek and Star Wars as it is a place for fans of both franchises to express their creativity and opinions.

By drawing on various aspects of Star Trek and Star Wars, The Furry Conflict endeavors to construct a unique mix--a novel product that offers more than a simple combination of it's parent universes. As fans of the two franchises, TFC tries to stay true to the spirit of "Wars" or "Trek," but does not strictly limit creativity to the boundaries set out in the official material. By making some key changes and daring to disagree with some of the decisions made by Lucas, Berman, or Braga, TFC gives a subtle critique of how the fans feel the official universes are being handled.

Through cooperation and discussion (and sometimes debate) TFC strives to assemble a universe and a story that both Star Wars and Star Trek fans can enjoy.

The Furry Conflict's main feature is the Storyline, the main piece of literature behind the world of TFC, followed closely by the Audio Drama section where one can listen as the story unfolds with voice, sound effects and music. There is a Backstage area with information about some of the deeper facets of TFC (Cast Biographies, the Timeline, the Technopedia, etc), and a Fan Fiction area that shows what adventures other writers at The Furry Conflict have invented.

If interested in joining, or just saying 'hi' and getting to know the people there, drop by the Community and introduce yourself. If there are any other questions about The Furry Conflict, feel free to drop a note in the Q and A forum so someone can help you out, or send an email to marcxavier@furryconflict.com.

Science fiction is a term referring to any story which uses science as its technological base yet is still fictional. Star Trek for example is one such science fiction. Other popular Science Fiction shows include Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica. Many of these shows have been running for a long time and are still as popular as they were when they first appeared.

Many popular video games are based on a Science Fiction theme, such games include Halo, Starcraft and Freelancer. Many fantasy games such as World of Warcraft or the Final Fantasy games include some Science Fiction elements.

SciFi in the Fandom
For furry stories with a science fiction setting, the anthropomorphic characters can often be the result of advanced genetic engineering technologies, or completely alien species. Of course, this is not always the case.

Alien species within established mainstream science fiction universes, such as the Wookiees from Star Wars, are commonly considered to be furry by members of the fandom.

Did you know? Mime artist Ailsa Berk, who played non-furry Amanaman in Return of the Jedi, is a regular at Further Confusion, and the only known female furry in Star Wars production.

Star Trek

2006-07-13T22:18:31Z

FabiFox:

Star Trek is a popular and long-lived science fiction television series that was created by Gene Roddenberry and published by Paramount Pictures, a famous television and film studio.

Brief History
Started in 1964, the series proposal to Paramount kicked off rather poorly with its first pilot episode, "The Cage". Critics in the company cited that the original pilot was too complex or too intelligent for prime time viewers to understand, and the network executives asked Roddenberry to make some adjustments which included removing the pointy-eared officer from the cast. The drafting board was put to work to create an alternate pilot, and within that year they produced their first official episode titled "Where no man has gone before" which earned the green light and was aired in 1966 on the NBC network.

However, Roddenberry wasn't going to let go of all of the cast members he was asked to cut. In the second pilot, the "pointy eared" officer was kept where he is and the other cast member, the original pilot's first officer, was recast with blonde hair and put into sickbay as a nurse. This character later became known as Nurse Chapel while the pointy-eared officer became known as Mister Spock and identified as a Vulcan.

The series plot had called for a 5 year mission of the USS Enterprise, the center stage of nearly all the episodes in the show and the start for nearly all of them as well. It sufferred from a short budget and limited resources, a trouble which plagued special effects and set crews as well as the prop designers and makeup crews when they couldn't assemble everything they needed to make things happen more realistically. Yet despite the budget shortfalls, the series quality gradually got better. Unfortunately, three years into the "five year mission", Paramount Pictures canceled the series citing that the show had poor ratings. And in a twist of irony, the demographics had shown the company that the show had appealed to the target audience exactly as the advertisers had hoped and since that time, the show had remained in popular syndication.

This popular demographics had also resulted in the creation of Star Trek: The Animated Series, a very short-lived spinoff which for the most part consisted of sequels to episodes of The Original Series

From 1986 and on, the series produced sequels entitled Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise.

In the afterglow of the various shows, ten movies have been produced, the majority of them following the USS Enterprise on her ongoing mission to seek out new life and new civilizations as she boldly goes where no man has gone before.

Species
The universe of the Star Trek series consisted predominantly of humans at first, as they were the most visible on the show. However, the series as a whole introduced species like the Romulans, Klingons, Caitians (in the cartoon), Orions, Bajorans, The Borg, and even the Jem'Hadar.

Technology
The technology as a whole in the series is often based using real physics. However much one looks at it though, some technology just defies physics itself and it is all considered fictional with exceptions. For example, the "hypospray" in the series was a device that injected medical compounds into the blood stream without having to pierce the skin with any kind of needle. In reality, much the same thing can be done although articles have to be found to support this.

Furries and Trek
So far, only a few species in the show are considered of interest in regard to the furry fandom. Of these, the most notorious is the tribble, an extremely furry, extremely unintelligent species. Another notable species are the Caitians which to this date are considered non-canon in general though have been referenced in one movie and in about two of the syndicated shows of the series.

Additionally, the sister feline races of Eeiauoan and Sivaoan appear (and play leading role) in Star Trek series novel Uhura's Song.

At the furry fan fiction level, the Chakona Space setting that provides backstory for the chakat species is embedded within Star Trek continuity.

Furry characters are featured in the fan fiction and audio drama series Trek Wars: The Furry Conflict.

While Fabi decided that he wished his fursona to be a red fox, the actual design work behind the character was done by a local friend of his, an anthro artist who goes by the name Edilith. The character resembles how Fabi himself appears in real life.

Although most prevalent on his deviantART account under the name Fabi the Hedgehog, 3D computer-graphic artist Fabian Jansen prefers nowadays to assume the mantle of Fabi Fox - the former title being a throwback to the days where he was "a hopeless Sonic fan".
Fabi was born on September 30th 1988 in the German town of Bergisch Gladbach, but moved to South Wales in July 1999, where he currently still resides.

Felix Andrews

FabiFox:

General
Felix Andrews (Real Name: Alun R. MacRae) is an anthro artist from Dun Loghaire, Scotland. He currently goes to University in Salford, Greater Manchester.

Art
He uses mainly pencils for his work and sometimes his Aiptek 12×9 graphics tablet. He is currently active on his deviantart page. His art is usually very detailed and precise, especially when it gets to drawing anthros with weapons.

Fursona
Felix does not have a Fursona as such but his character "Southpaw" is based on himself and he uses the character as a kind of online Avatar. Soutpaw is a yellow ochre housecat with hints of African lynx and Scottish wildcat.

Hobbies
His hobbies include Sketching, Gaming (Gamecube, Nintendo DS, XBox), F1, Cinema, Animals, Reading, Travelling, Writing. His favourite bands and musicians are Basement Jaxx, Jurassic 5, Arcade Fire, Super Furry Animals, Mr Scruff, Sigur Rós and others. He doesn't like any Heavy Metal music, even though he is a bit Emo himself :3

MSN
He is usually on MSN for most of the day, he is obsessed with typing properly and is sure to point out any typos. His writing can be recognised by the overuse of commas, especially at the end of a sentence before adding the name of the person being spoken to.

Felix Has Left The Building says:
How are you, Kim?

His friends refer to this phenomenon as a "Comma Rape".
