Welcome to [[WikiFur:Administrators]]! I noticed your recent reverts, and I thought it might be best to let you deal with that sort of thing yourself, if needed.
Thanks for catching that one. In that sort of situation (multiple page blanking or simple vandalism) you can add "&bot=1" to the URL of the user's contribution page and then reload the page with that URL. This will make it so that the contributions effectively disappear on recent changes when you roll them back (unless you look for them by turning bot actions on) and the only thing that appears is the ban. :-) --{{UT|GreenReaper}} 16:38, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
==Article Illustrations ==

Hello. I noticed that you requested artists to create art to add to WikiFur articles. I wish to say that if you wish, you may let me know if there are any articles you think need art, and I will be glad to draw something for them. Also, if I do happen to see any unillustrated articles, may I notify you to show whether what I add is acceptable? I am not sure of what the guidelines are for art at this time; however, so I shall need to find that out. -- {{UT|Seamora}} 10:35, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

:Here are some suggestions. This is not an exclusive list, and if you find another article where you can contribute art that meets the requirements I set out are [[User:Rat]], that is still good.

:--[[User:Rat|Rat]] 18:27, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Could you expand on "Must be released under a license acceptable to the WikiFur community."? Is "Artist approves use of this image on WikiFur" such a license, for example? I was thinking we could do with such a tag, with a number of people uploading their own art but not explicitly releasing it in some other fashion. -- [[User:Sine|Sine]] 23:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

:That's a good question, and maybe we should have community input over what licenses are acceptable. The main thing is that since I'm collecting these images for WikiFur, is that WikiFur's permission to use them is explicit, not implicit. --[[User:Rat|Rat]] 00:16, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

::Uploading them to WikiFur seems pretty explicit permission to me. <tt>;)</tt> -- [[User:Sine|Sine]] 00:19, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

:::I think that a tag would be highly useful, something like <tt><nowiki>{{ArtBounty|ArticleName}}</nowiki></tt> which both put the artwork into a particular category and provide text linking to the bounty pages and the article page concerned.

:::As for the licensing, it might be a good idea to consider future applications of the images. For example, if we want to actually publish WikiFur articles in the future it makes sense to require a license that permits that, or have that be a specific term of the agreement. You could argue that this was implied in uploading the artwork, but you could also find that this didn't work out legally. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 06:42, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

:::If just uploading them is explicit permission, then getting them to express it in text form as well wouldn't hurt. And getting them to express it in text form also allows them to express conditions like whether they require to be attributed for their work, and whether their work can be used outside WikiFur. --[[User:Rat|Rat]] 08:15, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello,
I just wanted to double check with you before I got started. From what I took, one could illustrate any article (save for stubs) that lacked an illustration. Is this so? I want to make sure I have it clear. :) {{unsigned|Sugandya}}
== Deleting redirects ==

I would like to discuss deleting redirects. As deleted articles are still saved in the database, there is no need to do it to save disk space. In most cases there's no need to delete them. Even if there's no internal pages linking to it, there are still external links and maybe people who have it bookmarked. I don't disagree with all your deleted redirects.
Wikipedia's [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Redirects_for_deletion#When_should_we_delete_a_redirect.3F|redirect policy]] may be a start for consideration.
--[[User:Rat|Rat]] 02:32, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

:I appreciate you letting me know. Could you be more specific about what concerns you, so I have a sense of what to continue doing and what to leave alone? My main concern has been with articles moved to correct capitalization. -- [[User:Sine|Sine]] 05:29, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

::Well, to pick a recent example there was [[Zassa of FurryMUCK]]. It was under that name for a long time, so one should leave a redirect so not to break external links and bookmarks. Moving articles to correct capitalization is good, but you don't have to delete the redirects from bad capitalization to good capitalization, so links aren't broken and articles are easy to find --[[User:Rat|Rat]] 05:50, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
:::I admit, I hadn't considered external links, though I always check for internal ones. As for capitalization, I should have been clearer. I specifically refer to cases where the article was a proper name (a person, usually) and not capitalized as a proper name: John doe rather than John Doe. Similarly with typos and misspellings. -- [[User:Sine|Sine]] 05:59, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
::::If there's an external link to an incorrectly-capitalized page ie [http://furry.wikia.com/wiki/Snagger_outlaw], the wiki does not take them to the correct page unless there's a redirect. If a misspelling is common, I would keep a redirect from the incorrect to the correct, but if it's an unlikely typo, then yeah, delete it. --[[User:Rat|Rat]] 06:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Log into Wikifur for the first time in months only to find out you deleted one of my pictures (a commission done for me which I had the rights to post). I tried to email you about it but WikiFur complains that I "must be logged in and have a valid email address in my preferences", both of which are true. I'm not exactly sure how you mean by making the article about myself more... objective. You mean abstract? Or controversial? Or do you mean to have more overall objectives to cover in what I explain?
I suppose I'm just not understanding exactly what particular instances you're referring to in the writeups posted which you offered as examples.

Sometimes I just have to be shown in detail; if you want to diagram it like sentence structure, I'll probably follow easier than if you say, "check out these few profiles and do it like that." Cause I'm kinda like, "Do what like how? The word ''vorarephilia'' is derived from the [[Wikipedia:Latin|Latin]] ''vorare'' [swallow, devour] and [[Wikipedia:Greek language|Old Greek]] ''philia'' [love].

Vorarephilia is typically considered an "imaginary fetish" given that fulfilling vore fantasies in reality would be difficult to say the least; although the specific cases of [[Wikipedia:Issei Sagawa|Issei Sagawa]] in Paris, [[Wikipedia:Armin Meiwes|Armin Meiwes]] in Germany, and possibly [[Wikipedia:Jeffrey Dahmer|Jeffrey Dahmer]] in the United States, show that it is within the realm of possibility (though most vorarephiles are aware of the inherent silliness of their fetish, and are largely uninterested in the idea of cannibalism).

== Terminology ==
The term ''vorarephile'' describes someone who enjoys vore. Most vorarephiles describe themselves as being "[[Prey]]" — reportedly based on how animals are considered to be prey for other animals who are in a higher chain position — while others, who actually do the eating in the fantasies, are referred to as a "Pred" (derived from the word [[predator]]).<ref>[http://vore.got-game.org/VoregottenRealm/VoreDefinition.html "What is vore ? An attempt at a definition."] Accessed 26 February 2008</ref>

== Variates ==
=== Soft Vore ===
Soft vore describes scenarios where prey is consumed alive and whole, often without it being harmed. Because of its non-violent nature, soft vore is commonly regarded as more sensual and sexually oriented. Willing or unwilling prey in soft vore prey are either [[Wikipedia:digestion|digested]], [[Wikipedia:Asphyxia|suffocated]] or simply held in the [[Wikipedia:Stomach|stomach]]. Some vorarephiles who derive pleasure from watching animals eat other animals enjoy watching [[snake]]s eating, this is because they usually swallow their prey whole, a major element in soft vore.<ref>[http://aryion.com/modules.php?name=Conteudo&pid=12 "Soft Vore" ''Eka's Portal'']</ref>

Non-sexual soft vore is often used in a wide variety literature. These may be based on Native American folklore, such as one story where Coyote enters the stomach of a giant to rescue a number of people who were eaten alive, or the biblical story of [[Wikipedia:Jonah|Jonah]]. Soft vore is also used in current day cartoons and [[anime]] (which includes "Eat or Be Eaten: Panic in the Forest," an episode of the anime series [[Wikipedia:Naruto|Naruto]] [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0t1VHUeWBM]). Most of these are seen as a harmless sight gag or a minor inconvenience for a character.

=== Hard Vore ===
Hard vore describes scenarios where prey is subjected to injuries of being ripped and chewed. This type of vore involves [[Wikipedia:Cut|cutting]], [[Wikipedia:Bit|biting]], [[Wikipedia:Tear|tearing]] and usually also involves [[Wikipedia:Blood|blood]]. Although inherently there is no sexual characteristic to these portrayals, to someone with a vore fetish, they could be taken in a sexual context. Hard vore has sometimes been referred to as "gore" to separate it from soft vore.<ref>[http://aryion.com/modules.php?name=Conteudo&pid=11 "Hard Vore" ''Eka's Portal'']</ref>

Non-sexual hard vore is regularly portrayed in movies for mature audiences, such as the [[Wikipedia:Jaws (film)|Jaws]] franchise and [[Wikipedia:Deep Blue Sea|Deep Blue Sea]].<ref>[http://femme.fetishist.over-blog.com/categorie-10261802.html "Vore fetishism: Why and how?"]</ref>

=== Combinations ===
Being a [[Wikipedia:Fantasy (psychology)|fantasy]], any orifice may be thought of as capable of vore. Well known are the "genital vore" scenarios, witch includes ''unbirth''. Unbirthing involves being consumed by the [[vagina]] and taking refuge in the woman's [[womb]],<ref name="unbirth">[http://aryion.com/modules.php?name=Conteudo&pid=15 "Unbirth" ''Eka's Portal'']</ref> which is simply a "reverse birth" and, in a pure sense, can only be done by a female. It is sometimes referred to as "Female Genital Vore" or "vaginal vore." Others think of it as a mutual, erotic and consensual activity with no injury to the sexual partners involved — in that case it is not considered a form of vore.<ref name="unbirth"/>

"Male Genital Vore," commonly called ''cock vore'', refers to being consumed by the [[penis]].<ref>[http://aryion.com/modules.php?name=Conteudo&pid=14 "Cock Vore" ''Eka's Portal'']</ref> This involves the urethral opening at the top of the penis, after which they are pulled down the [[Wikipedia:Urethra|urethra]] to the predator's [[Wikipedia:Scrotum|scrotum]], in which prey is absorbed, digested, or turned into semen (sometimes known as "cum vore") and [[Wikipedia:Ejaculation|ejaculated]]. A lesser known variant involves the prey to be taken to the [[Wikipedia:Prostate|prostate]] for conversion to semen, or to the [[Wikipedia:Bladder|bladder]] for storage or digestion.<ref>[http://www.spiritus-temporis.com/cock-vore/ "Cock vore"]</ref>

Not well known, ''Anal vore'' describes being consumed by the [[anus]].<ref>[http://aryion.com/modules.php?name=Conteudo&pid=64 "Anal Vore" ''Eka's Portal'']</ref> In common scenarios, prey consumed through anal vore is often drawn up through the digestive tract to the stomach where they are digested in a normal fashion. Such is not always the case, as the prey may simply remain in the [[Wikipedia:Rectum|rectum]] of the predator for a varying length of time. ''Breast vore'' describes prey being engulfed into the predator's [[breast]] through the [[nipple]]s.<ref>[http://aryion.com/modules.php?name=Conteudo&pid=22 "Breast vore" ''Eka's Portal'']</ref> Prey consumed is usually then held in the predator's breast where they are occasionally transformed into breast milk.

== Related fetishes ==
''Macro vore'' is quite common, witch describes being consumed by a large or giant predator.<ref name=voreclub>[http://www.freewebs.com/thevoreclub/charterinfo.htm The Vore Club]</ref> Commonly called "giantess vore" (when the predator is a female), is commonly a mixture of [[macrophilia]], a fetish for giants. In ''micro vore'', on the other hand, is a combination of [[microphilia]], in witch the predator is smaller than its prey<ref name=voreclub/> (this often involves [[magic]]). ''Scat'' is combined with vore as [[coprophilia]], in witch the prey has been digested (or pushed through the [[digestive system]] alive) and excreted out.<ref name=voreclub/>

[[Maiesiophilia]] describes a love of the pregnant female form. It can take various forms, from having the shape of being pregnant while not having the pregnancy, or with a vore scenarios, looking pregnant while holding prey inside their stomach.

Motivations behind the vore paraphilia vary but [[Wikipedia:Endosomatophilia|endosomatophilia]] (attraction to fantasies involving complete encapsulation of a living thing within the body of another living thing) and dominance/submission play are two common driving forces. Allowing oneself to be literally devoured could arguably be called the ultimate act of submission on the prey's part, and the ultimate act of dominance by a predator. It is easy to draw a connection between vore and the 'snuff' fetish, but in reality the overlap is far from complete. Death is frequently sidestepped or avoided in stories and roleplaying, though for some it plays an integral role in their fantasies.

== Vorarephilia and furry ==
Vorarephilia is a relatively popular topic for [[roleplay]] and [[art]] in the furry fandom as compared to the wider world, although it is still considered a fringe interest, shared to a greater or lesser extent by perhaps 2-5% of [[furry fan]]s. Its popularity may be due to the large number of predator/prey species matchups that mingle daily, although some vorarephile characters will eat just about anything with no regard for the conventional food chain. Likewise, the mixed animal/human nature of the fandom allows bestial behavior like vore to emerge naturally alongside mutual grooming and other animalistic traits. Furry vore is also made somewhat easier to act out and depict by the fact that many furry characters do not wear [[clothes]] to begin with - and those that are doing the eating often have claws to handle the rest.

The general sequence of roleplay goes something like this:
* [[Boy]] meets [[girl]]
* (optional) Non-vore roleplay of various kinds
* Girl declares that boy looks awfully tasty, either verbally or by nibbling on something
* (optional) Boy tries to appease girl with gifts of alternate foods
* Girl pounces upon boy
* Boy puts up a token resistance but lacks the physical strength to escape
* Girl swallows boy, either all at once, or (more commonly) over a series of [[pose]]s in which boy bemoans his fate (if swallowed [[tail]]/feet first) or struggles (if swallowed head first)
* (Optional) Boy is crushed into the (usually tight) confines of girl's stomach, and expires from digestion, typically falling unconscious first due to lack of oxygen

The above is just a rough guide of the most typical sequence of events - for example, each participant may be of either gender, or [[hermaphrodite|both]], or none. Vore may not be fatal - such consumption is sometimes offered as a "warm place to stay the night". Even if digestion occurs, the consumed participant typically "respawns" or "reforms" within a few minutes to a few days. This neatly sidesteps the major disadvantage of [[real life]] vore (that you only get to do it once). The level of realism in a roleplay varies from player to player, ranging from absurd and cartoonish to anatomically correct and theoretically feasible.

Vore is in many cases - even in the role-play form - a consensual activity. For every player who decides he wants his [[fox]] to go down kicking and screaming as he is ruthlessly gobbled up, there are more who enter a chatroom with the comment "I'm feeling tasty tonight." Some wish to be hunted while others offer themselves up on a platter, and not always figuratively.

Preferences vary so widely in regards to the 'ideal' vore scenario that MUCKs like [[FurryMUCK]] and [[Tapestries]] allow players to create publicly accessible tables of 'flags' to indicate their preferences and facilitate compatible pairings. Flags like 'no pain,' 'predator,' and 'soft vore' supplement broader flags not specific to vore like 'bisexual' and 'male-biased.'

Some popular places for vorarephiles include the [[Vor Cafe]] on [[Tapestries]] (adjoined by [[The Feedery]], which caters to [[fat furs]]), the [[Zaftig City]] mailing list, (for some inhabitants) [[The Giants' Club]] on [[FurryMUCK]], [[Jess]] and [[Avon]]'s [[Vor-com]], the largest vore MUCK [[Voregotten Realm]], and one of the largest Vore communities, [[Eka's Portal]].

== Terminology ==

== Variates ==
=== Soft Vore ===

=== Hard Vore ===

=== Combinations ===

== Related fetishes ==

== Vorarephilia and furry ==

* [[Boy]] meets [[girl]]
* (optional) Non-vore roleplay of various kinds
* Girl declares that boy looks awfully tasty, either verbally or by nibbling on something
* (optional) Boy tries to appease girl with gifts of alternate foods
* Girl pounces upon boy
