Disgustedorite: fixed broken link

Disgustedorite, often shortened to Dorite, is an American furry artist. She has been in the fandom since 2009, when she was first exposed to it via the virtual pet site Chicken Smoothie. She was previously known as Sassette, NeonWaja, Zera97, KitsuneAi, Murasaki1, Mura the Mink, Ecurai, and Hohki throughout her history in the fandom.

Characters
Dorite describes herself as having "entirely too many characters". While an exact count has never been done, the total likely numbers in the hundreds, if not thousands, across both original work and countless fandoms. This section will only cover characters who are actually relevant to the furry fandom.

Fursonas
Dorite has always had multiple fursonas and switched to new ones as she developed as a person, with a complete succession occurring every few years. Any new fursona of hers begins as a non-fursona character, and is usually developed quite a bit before it becomes an actual fursona. Her current fursonas, and her only current 'sonas furry or not, are Razor the Raptor, a Sonic fan character; Gomedha, a Steven Universe fan character also identified as a "corrupted gemsona"; and Wargy, a member of an original species which, like Gomedha, also has ties to Steven Universe fanon. In the past, Dorite would usually have five or more 'sonas, furry or not, at a given time, with the current smaller number being attributed to an abrupt "fursona turnover" in early 2017 and there not having been enough time since then for Dorite to gain more.

Razor the Raptor, first shared online on February 9, 2018‎, is a green dromaeosaur who was originally created as a villain for a Sonic fanfiction idea which Dorite was brainstorming at the time. Razor's gender was originally intentionally left ambiguous, as Dorite had not decided on one when she created Razor's Sonic Fanon Wiki page--something she has stated she regrets. Razor became a fursona sometime in late May or early June of 2018, and Razor's face has been Dorite's avatar on many websites she is active on ever since then.

Gomedha, a corrupted gem with an original design somewhat resembling a cat with fiery coloration, was originally created in late 2015 for a Steven Universe fanfiction which Dorite was brainstorming at the time. Although the fanfiction was dropped, Gomedha stuck around and became both a fursona and a gemsona. Dorite uses Gomedha as her avatar on most websites where Razor isn't used.

Wargy, created on June 9, 2017, is a blue lapis lazuli Gem Warg. Though she was originally created for a story connected to the "fursona turnover" that occurred that same month, she was not among the characters dropped because she was new enough to be easily separated from it. After becoming a fursona later, Wargy was intended to be the protagonist of a comic titled Cerulean Jewel, a story meant to symbolize Dorite's journey through the furry fandom which was never completed beyond a sketch of its third page.

Former Fursonas
Dorite has had countless past fursonas, some of which have little to no currently surviving information. A significant chunk of them were created in 2009, when Dorite was very new to the fandom. This list is very incomplete, full of holes, and roughly in chronological order where possible.

* Blaze (May 29, 2009-June 6, 2009): A male dog with a patchy coat, and Dorite's first known fursona.
* Spark (May 31, 2009-June 6, 2009): A male orange and yellow cat which was designed by a user on Chicken Smoothie who went under the username "Missy". The original image of Spark was lost.
* Merre (June 12, 2009-August 2011): A purple shapeshifting cat, and Dorite's earliest fursona with any significant surviving information known aside from her appearance--though she was Dorite's fourth overall. Merre was designed by another member of the fandom, Dannybabe, and was originally described as flirty and loving attention, only the latter of which also described Dorite at the time. Dorite briefly explored the idea of Merre's shapeshifting ability coming from a magical jade pendant, but this was not well-developed before the character was dropped as a fursona in favor of newer characters.
* Purple Swirl (2009-???): A dog which took on the same design as a pet on Chicken Smoothie; she was developed independently of Merre, despite their similar appearances. Though Purple Swirl was never officially called a fursona, she was certainly treated as one--making her Dorite's first "natural" fursona.
* Snowy(2009-???): Originally a little white cat, Snowy was later turned into a gerbil and finally a wolf before fading out.
* Faux, Folx of Light (2009-???): A member of an original species then known as a "folx". Faux is one of the longer-lasting fursonas, due in part to a brief conversion into a Happy Tree Friends fan character. She is the princess of a kingdom named Vlageria, which is essentially just Egypt, and she apparently has the ability to weaponize light. She was often symbolized with a short square pyramid. At some point, she was redesigned to wear a green gemstone pendant, but it's unclear whether this happened before or after she stopped being a fursona because the vast majority of art Dorite made of her was never posted online.
* Knight Wish (2009-???): Another "folx" with a green, blue, and yellow color scheme, Knight Wish was Faux's father. He was also a shapeshifter, but he was cursed into the form of a winged wolf.
* Galaxy (2009-???): A winged wolf who was also Knight Wish's mate at some point.
* Gris (2009): Another "folx" with grey fur, with a design inspired by a pet Dorite had obtained on Wajas. The only surviving information on her is that, quote, "She is.....differant (sic)".
* Scraggly(2009-2012): Another "folx" with black fur and a white underbelly. Little information about him survives, except that he was originally created as a love interest for Faux--a concept which was later dropped as he was developed more.
* Wildblaze (2011-???): A Warrior Cats fan character who was a ginger longhair she-cat.
* Ai (February-March 2012): An Inuyasha fan character who was a red-haired fennec fox demon. Very short-lived as a fursona, Dorite only recalls using Ai long enough to buy Minecraft and be stuck with KitsuneAi as her username until the ability to change usernames was added to the game years later.
* Mura the Mink (2012-???): A purple mink who was an "accidental" Sonic fan character, whose use as a fursona primarily spanned a bizarre in-character half-roleplay event involving Dorite's relationship with the Impressive Title / KITO community.
* Hohki (early 2013-June 2017): Another very long-lasting fursona, and perhaps Dorite's single longest-lasting fursona, Hohki was originally a Kreptis created for use in a roleplay group, The Ebon Circle (TEC). As kreptis are a closed species, when Dorite left TEC she also had to change Hohki's species to a more generic fox shadow spirit. Hohki's original design featured her wearing an amethyst pendant, which has inconsistent appearances in later design iterations. A paintie of Hohki on Furvilla is notably the earliest shifty paintie on the entire website to not be made with a base.
* Kandy Hawk (2013-???): A brown, pink, and white ferruginous hawk, who was described as "modest".
* Vasha (2013-June 2017): Originating as a short-lived attempt to revive Faux and the "folx" species, Vasha swiftly split into her own character. From her spawned the "Goyabhed" species and later the bipedal alien "Goyak" race, the latter of which Dorite still uses today.
* Kayla the Thylacine (2013-???): A natural-colored thylacine with a torn, scarred face.
* Snowball (2014): An ordinary arctic fox created for Dorite's attempt to "really" enter the furry fandom in her late teens, and one of her few fursonas after 2009 to be created as one--a distinction that very much did not protect her from fading like all the others. Snowball was also a model.
* Peter the Pup (2014-???): A Sonic fan character and a shiba inu, Peter was a combination of several older character concepts and was intended to be the "perfect" non-self-insert Sonic OC. Obviously, that did not work out. Peter is the peak representation of Dorite's interest in minerals at the time, as his main power is to use various minerals to heal others. Surprisingly, this concept was developed independently of new age crystal healing, instead being inspired by the existence of various minerals in the Sonic universe that apparently had powers; the character also predates Dorite finding out about Steven Universe, so there was no inspiration from that cartoon. Notably, despite no longer being a fursona, Dorite still uses Peter as an ordinary character to this day.
* Floofy (July 2014-summer 2015): Floofy is a shiny Reshiram, and she doubled as a Pokesona.
* Mace Rabbit (~July 2015-Summer 2016?): Also known as Mali Garnet, the Mace Rabbit is a Steven Universe fan character and a corrupted gem, nicknamed for her rabbit-like appearance and mace-like tail. Mace Rabbit has a style of speaking where she always refers to herself in the third person ("Mace Rabbit sends you nose boops"). Dorite eventually dropped Mace Rabbit as a fursona to avoid controversy after another, unknown person appropriated the character to send anonymous requests for obscene artwork to various erotic artists on Tumblr, making Mace Rabbit the first of Dorite's past fursonas to have the title forcefully removed rather than fade naturally.
* Fluorspar (Late 2015-June 2017): Another Steven Universe fan character, who was also a Gemsona for a time. Unlike other Steven Universe OCs on this list, Fluorspar's default form was animal-like, rather than her appearance being the result of corruption or shapeshifting. She was originally made for an idea Dorite had for a Steven Universe / Feral Heart crossover, Gems and Ferals, which was intended to be a parody of how Feral Heart's players typically reacted to "human" roleplayers at the time; however, development of Fluorspar as a character resulted in her becoming a fursona, which in turn made the concept into a serious story which was planned out from beginning to end and even tied into Dorite's other works by featuring cameos of Hohki and Vasha, who also have ties to Feral Heart and still stood strong as fursonas themselves at the time.
* Olive Stone (August 2016-June 2017): A Steven Universe fan character and a gemsona of the Peridot gem-type who intentionally chose to take on an animal-like form, rather than being corrupted or made that way, making her like a meta-fursona. Dorite created Olive when Gems and Ferals was shifting into a serious story, but things took a turn in June 2017. When Dorite was writing Olive's backstory, she "went off the deep end" with dark and disturbing content reflecting her own history. Dorite was disturbed when she realized that she was enjoying what she was doing to the character. After this realization, Dorite struggled to work on anything connected to Olive because it kept reminding her of that disturbing enjoyment--and because nearly every single one of her active fursonas at the time was tied to the character via Gems and Ferals, it resulted in an abrupt "fursona turnover", as Dorite could no longer work on further developing or using most them.
* Sagittara (2018-Early 2019): A "Sagittariraptor" who was originally supposed to be the main villain in a story Dorite was brainstorming at the time.

Original Species
Dorite has also made a very large number of original species. This list will only include those which have either been used as one of Dorite's fursonas, have characters belonging to other people, or that are particularly notable in a larger roleplay universe, as otherwise the sheer number would be in the hundreds.

* Folx (2009): Dorite's first original species, and the species of Faux, Knight Wish,, Gris, and Scraggly. Folxes were originally meant to be a fox-wolf hybrid, hence the name, but they eventually turned into hyena-like omnivores with variable bovid-like horns.
* Goyabhed (2013): The original species of Vasha, goyabheds are similar to Folxes but have claw-like hooves, their horns are generally more ram-like, and they are primarily herbivorous.
* Goyak (late 2013 or early 2014): The current species of Vasha. Goyaks resemble goyabheds, which they are related to, but they are a carnivorous sapient race with stocky theropod-like builds. They also unintentionally resemble Wickerbeasts; however, they were created independently and the original concept art for Goyaks was drawn long before Wickerbeasts became popular. They have also been used for roleplay on the SporeWiki.
* Gem Warg (2017): A species which was originally made as one of several within a dead-serious Steven Universe-themed speculative biology project which Dorite also created. They have a gorgonopsid-like appearance and Gem-like biology. In additional to being the species of Wargy, one of Dorite's current fursonas, a handful of designs have also been sold as adoptables or gifted to various other people in the fandom.
* Passan (2017): Another species created for the same project as the Gem Warg, Passans are a race of humanoid opossum-like people which have mainly been used for roleplay within the SporeWiki Fiction Universe.
* Sagittariraptor (November 2018): A large variety of raptor which has a round tail fan and a bundle of head feathers resembling those of a secretarybird, which is the species of Sagittara.

Disgustedorite: updated dates for first 3 fursonas to reflect further research

* Blaze (May 29, 2009-June 6, 2009): A male dog with a patchy coat, and Dorite's first known fursona.

* Blaze (May 29, 2009): A male dog with a patchy coat, and Dorite's first known fursona.
