Reinstated this dubious assertion, as it is repeated ad nauseam as much and often as the furry lore of [[TDK]]=[[Eric W Schwartz]], and we have this last one archived in those entries. If thinks is not relevant or inappropriate, will delete it, but I have seen this "discussion" so many times, so many places, I thought maybe it should be mentioned.

Her parody work used to be on www.jabarchives.com, even after she left the site. It was still there until the Jab archives had server problems, and many artists had to reinstall their sites. Hers did not return.

==Information about incident==

Luca started out his involvement within it by joining [[Furcadia]] in 2002 as an [[otter]]. Over the years his [[fursonas]]' species has changed as followed (in chronological order,) Otter, [[Rabbit]], [[Fox]], and currently as a three-tailed [[kitsune]].

He is most known for his appearance in the flash animation, [[High Tail Hall]], as well as being a moderator and frequent poster on the [[Yiffstar]] message-boards. He is occasionally active on [[Tapestries]] as Luca_Shoal, and [[Second Life]] as Luca Faulkland.

Finally, Luca can be found on a number of other websites, including [[LiveJournal]], [[deviantART]], [[Wikipedia:YTMND|YTMND]], and [[4chan]]. If seen elsewhere, it is most likely someone impersonating the fox.

==Luca's description==

Luca's kitsune magic includes an ability to change size, age, gender, and [[species]], other physical attributes (hair, fur, etc.) and chemical make-up of his form (I.e. becoming [[Rubberfur|latex]]). However, a few things remain constant.

One of those being that the most accurate picture depicting him was one done by [[female]] [[furry artist]] [[Marci McAdam]]. Luca's fur is the standard fox colors, with black "paws" and "socks" up to middle of the lower arm, and mid-thigh respectively.

White or cream fur covers all of his tummy, crotch, and the inside part of his thighs, and goes all the way up the underside of his muzzle and in patches around his eyes, which are violet, like his bangs. The rest of his headfur is black, usually, or it's all violet.

The only accessories of note he almost always has are three ribbons tied around his tails, and his glasses.For the ribbons, white around the right tail, pink on the middle tail, and purple on the left. These bows are tied roughly where the white fur on the tip of his tails meets the red fur of the majority of the tail.

As for the glasses...Luca can see without them, but it's fuzzy further out (farsighted), so, the kitsune needs glasses.. nothing special, just standard dark silver half frames. When it comes to clothing, almost anything goes really. Luca prefers "sissy" clothing when of cub age, namely frilly dresses and the like.

==Luca, role-play and paraphilias==

At one time, Luca was willing to [[role-playing|role-play]] with nearly anyone, being somewhat of a "RPslut" then. Over the past year or so though, he's mellowed out, and does not RP nearly as much as he once did, nor with as many people.

He still has a few kinks that he's into though, and usually at least one element is included when he role-plays, such as [[Cross-dressing]], [[Babyfur]] (or [[Ageplay]]), [[BDSM|Submissiveness]], [[BDSM|Spanking]], and many more. In fact, he's open to most anything outside of [[vore]], [[Wikipedia:Snuff|snuff]], and [[blood]].

DataBank is the pseudonym for a male human in real life who isn't helping at all with the phrase "Where the men are men and the women are too", having more popular female characters than male.

While details of the above are likely to be inserted into a self-aggrandizing promotional page, on a note more removed from role-playing, he functions (well, through an "Avatar", see above note on female characters) as an administrator on a fairly small webforum, [[The Napping Cat's Dream]], where his headaches tend to revolve around blatant ignorance of posted rules and assorted complaints lodged for a wider variety of reasons than many would guess.

In other words, "same old same old."

DreamSpinners (abbreviated 'Spinners) are a kitsune-like fox species of his creation, with some noticable physical differences.

#Tail length varies between 3' and 7', in the bone at least. Fur can add over another foot if properly maintained.
They do follow the general rule of "more tails = more power", but their abilities are more along the lines of editing the underlying realities and concepts of dreams they inhabit. He has two particularly popular 'Spinners presently, [http://www.masterzdm.com/NCD/showprofile.php?User=2173 Krinele Fullin] and [http://www.masterzdm.com/NCD/showprofile.php?User=3972 Molly Fullin] (related). Krinele is typically calm and composed, but not above playing a prank now and then. Molly, on the other hand, tends toward being flirty while maintaining concern for those around her.

The comic strip focuses on the title character, Zen-Dao Meow, as he reviews his past lives to solve a [[wikipedia:koan|koan]] that will, in turn, save the life of a young boy. The strip integrates Eastern philosophies into a mystic storyline, one that has Zen-Dao trying to work his way to the title of "Master" - a title that, in past lives, he's arrogantly claimed anyway (hence the title of the strip).

This is a rather tricky icon for the comic/forum, all I really know is that it has a dual name which has some form of meaning. All the icons have a larger illustration than the forum's mini-icon, though... [http://www.masterzdm.com/crosswords.jpg Cross Words or Cross Swords] is linked... note the filename is crosswords, though one would normally read such an arrangement as Cross Swords (down, then across)... A [http://www.masterzdm.com/NCD/showthreaded.php?Number=290395 post] on the forum indicates that "CrossWords" is another option... "This is the icon for both the warriors with weapons and the warriors of words."

While I'm an admin for the forum, I readily admit that I know very little about what Furilius is planning for the rest of the comic. I'm sure it means something and can guess at a few possibilities, but it's nothing more than conjecture and not really suited to a reference area like Wikifur. This portrays /b/ as far too accepting of furfags. Anyone who has spent any time on /b/ can see that the furries on that board are in fact, trolls, and few in number. The vast majority of /b/ is strongly opposed to furries, and goes to great lengths to make their lives miserable, including raids on furry havens.

I'm troubled by this sentence:
"If a moderator could identify a furry, they would ban him or her for a number of months."

It says "they" would ban the furry. Who exactly are they? Certainly not the moderator, because that's a singular noun. From the context of the paragraph, the two candidates are:
1. Something Awful goons
2. The majority of people on 4chan

The page is protected, so I can't make any changes; however, I recommend the replacement of the aforementioned sentence with something along these lines:

"Any furries identified by the moderators would be banned for a number of months." {{unsigned|Glasnost}}

"Desu" is placed at the ending of sentences in Japanese...it doesn't really have a meaning in that sense, just a sort of "period" for a sentence [vs desu-yo, which adds emphasis (like a !), or desu-ne, which adds a questioning tone (like the Canadian 'eh' or ?)]. I very strongly disagree with the request for removal of the article, or removal of his real life name. Chibiabos pointed out several good points of contention on this issue. First is the fact that he has not actually served his sentence. He is still on what's called "Post Supervision Release", which is another word for Parole in the State of Oregon, for another 3 years. This is verifiable by going to the Vinelink website, choosing Oregon, and plugging in his first and last name.

Second is the fact that even if he was not on post supervision release, him being free of post supervision is irrelevant. Sibe has posted as "Ross Reddick" in several newsgroups that is linked to within the article itself, so it would be insulting to the intelligence of the readers of the article to have a prohibition on posting his real life name and then just simply clicking on a link and finding out his real life name. Unless the Wikifur Administrators intend to start removing links and cutting out information merely for the benefit of the person doing the complaining, then they should stay.

Sibe is complaining about the article resulting in it being quite difficult to find a job merely due to the Wikifur article. Again, this is an avoidance of responsibility on Sibe's part. If HR Departments are doing Google searches in newsgroups and the web, then cutting out his real life name here in the Wikifur article isn't going to do him any good, because of his notorious postings there. HR departments are wary of hiring violent felons for good reason. His violent actions against Brian Floyd was his fault. His evasion of his warrant for his arrest for over a year is his fault. He is not a good candidate for exclusion or removal of name, and the last time we hashed it out in discussion, it was agreed that this was the case. Someone unilaterally decided that they were going to delete the name, without obviously reading the talk page, luckily it was reverted, though I have to address one thing that was stated as explanation for what he did: "most of what is in this article is false and very biased information." This is the one where he was convicted of domestic violence against his father and lost his right to possess firearms in Washington State. The next case, KCSC# 96-08-01563-8, never resulted in a conviction, however it was again for assault on his father. He essentially had a no-bail warrant issued for his arrest in April of 1996 after disappearing, and then only came back after his 18th birthday to file a motion to quash the superior court case and warrant for lack of jurisdiction (He was now an adult legally and therefor the superior courts in Washington State had no jurisdiction over the crime). I am going to remove his real name from the Article, because as a furry and a proud one at that, having this kind of information, no matter who this might be is wrong. Regardless of past issues, most of what is in this article is false and very biased information. Just the name, and if there is data on Sibe, have evidence to back it up.

I very strongly disagree with the request for removal of the article, or removal of his real life name. Chibiabos pointed out several good points of contention on this issue. First is the fact that he has not actually served his sentence. He is still on what's called "Post Supervision Release", which is another word for Parole in the State of Oregon, for another 3 years. This is verifiable by going to the Vinelink website, choosing Oregon, and plugging in his first and last name.

Second is the fact that even if he was not on post supervision release, him being free of post supervision is irrelevant. Sibe has posted as "Ross Reddick" in several newsgroups that is linked to within the article itself, so it would be insulting to the intelligence of the readers of the article to have a prohibition on posting his real life name and then just simply clicking on a link and finding out his real life name. Unless the Wikifur Administrators intend to start removing links and cutting out information merely for the benefit of the person doing the complaining, then they should stay.

Sibe is complaining about the article resulting in it being quite difficult to find a job merely due to the Wikifur article. Again, this is an avoidance of responsibility on Sibe's part. If HR Departments are doing Google searches in newsgroups and the web, then cutting out his real life name here in the Wikifur article isn't going to do him any good, because of his notorious postings there. HR departments are wary of hiring violent felons for good reason. His violent actions against Brian Floyd was his fault. His evasion of his warrant for his arrest for over a year is his fault. He is not a good candidate for exclusion or removal of name, and the last time we hashed it out in discussion, it was agreed that this was the case. Someone unilaterally decided that they were going to delete the name, without obviously reading the talk page, luckily it was reverted, though I have to address one thing that was stated as explanation for what he did: "most of what is in this article is false and very biased information." I am going to remove his real name from the Article, because as a furry and a proud one at that, having this kind of information, no matter who this might be is wrong. Regardless of past issues, most of what is in this article is false and very biased information. It is not the responsibility of people who have grudges against a person to be the 'warning' system, this just promotes hate and violence. I've seen time and time again where people take matters into their own hands where the results are almost disaterous. The punishment of a crime is dealt by a judge, and not a website for furry information. The only reason that this article continues to illicit ill will towards anyone, including Sibe, is to mob as a group. This should be of context of information; not bigotry. I have also removed information that has no evidence backing it up. Anyone will Google and some level of intelligence can find out facts, they don't need (and we don't need) intollerance of anything. I can't move you guys to delete the article, but I plead with you as someone who's done a lot worse in his past, but has grown from it, leave the name out. Just the name, and if there is data on Sibe, have evidence to back it up.

The system was custom-made by Jurann and went live to the public on 1 December 2000. Prior to release, several months of research, development and beta-testing by actual [[:Category:Artists|artists]] was performed; the entire pre-launch process took approximately 10 months to complete.

Initially FurBuy was based on a system that charged small fees for listing and closing auctions as well as enhanced features offered to sellers. After a couple of weeks of live service, it was decided that all fees would be dropped for use of the system due to a lack of users' desire to pay for such features. Since then the system has been completely free. FurBuy's features include image management/hosting, live auction status on foreign websites, co-branding capability and SMS/text-messaging.

FurBuy is still hosting live auctions and is continually maintained and updated by Jurann based on user feedback and interest. It is scheduled for re-launch on July 15, 2006.

For the first year or so of its existence, the majority of people on 4chan looked down upon furries and even [[funny animal]] cartoons as a nuisance that did not belong on an anime board. If a moderator could identify a furry, they would ban him or her for a number of months.

However, /b/, a random board where anything could be posted within U.S. law, soon grew into its own culture, centered around anonymity and rebellious against any sort of rules imposed on it from outside. "Furry Friday" became a regular feature of /b/, as every Friday the furries would come out of the woodwork and flood both clean art and pornography, to the disgust of some other /b/ users (who would often complain that it was the "wrong day" if furry art was posted on any other day).

The above turnaround happened around the time 4chan pulled a stunt called April Furs Day<ref >[http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/April_Furs_Day April Furs Day] at [[Encyclopedia Dramatica]]</ref><ref>[http://trendpedia.elwiki.com/April_Furs_Day April Furs Day] at Trendpedia</ref>. Most people assumed it was an April Fools Day joke and expected it to be gone the next day. Some people complained about it in /b/ and /fur/. April 2nd, it remained and people against it tried to flood it with non-furry images, such as EroGuro--the moderators banned those people. On April 3, the moderators removed the board and banned every person who had posted in it--including those who complained about it in /fur/. The banning almost completely eliminated all furry postings for the next several months. April Furs Day was a major act of [[fursecution]] and 4chan did not repeat it in 2006.

DataBank is the pseudonym for a male human in real life who isn't helping at all with the phrase "Where the men are men and the women are too", having more popular female characters than male.

While details of the above are likely to be inserted into a self-aggrandizing promotional page, on a note more removed from role-playing, he functions (well, through an "Avatar", see above note on female characters) as an administrator on a fairly small webforum, [[The Napping Cat's Dream]], where his headaches tend to revolve around blatant ignorance of posted rules and assorted complaints lodged for a wider variety of reasons than many would guess.

Fur Affinity was launched at the beginning of January 2005 as an alternative to SheezyArt. During that time period, Sheezy abruptly changed policies to both remove adult art and take a stronger stance against users and their uploads. Warnings were supposedly issued from the site's service provider, advising Sheezy Art that they were not permitted to host adult content on their site. Much of Sheezy's community was abandoned after the rules change took effect. This migration left many with few alternatives. The site was shut down August 1, 2005 due to a disagreement between Jheryn and host provider [[Arcturus]], the primary administrators of the site. At that time Fur Affinity had 12,174 user accounts and nearly 100,000 submissions. Arcturus and supporters went on to found [[ArtPlz]].

Over the course of 2005, Fur Affinity was able to raise $1,500 in donations towards the purchase of new hardware for its primary server; a server which would, unfortunately, not realize itself until the middle of 2006. Thanks to the community, Fur Affinity was able to build a stronger, faster server than the site originally used for operation.

Fur Affinity returned to operation in December 2005 with a solid backbone and more efficient coding, although full operational status would not be reached until December 10 due to a defect in the ASUS motherboard which powered the server.

The server, a dual Xeon 3.0Ghz system with 4GB of RAM, is currently housed in a Weehaken, [[Wikipedia:New Jersey|New Jersey]] [[Wikipedia:Level 3 Communications|Level 3]] [[Wikipedia:Colocation centre|co-location facility]]. [[Dragoneer]] is the system's primary hardware maintainer, providing funding and support for the site.

== Fender ==

[[Fender]] is the Fur Affinity [[mascot]]. He was primarily created by artist [[K-9]] upon an idea by [[Preyfar]]. K-9 is one of the individuals behind the [[comic]] ''[[Circles]]''. The site currently employs a version of Fender (which can be found in the header) drawn by various guest artists to reflect the monthly theme of the site.

Being half [[fox]], half [[ferret]], and all personality, Fender was born in an attempt to give the site a unique figurehead to whom people could turn for questions and answers regarding the site. This was done in an attempt to dissuade grandstanding by admins using the site as a pedestal for their own popularity.

Fender is most often mistaken as being a [[raccoon]].

== Ferrox code update ==
As of June 21, 2006 the site announced an impending upgrade to the site. FA opted to shed their previous naming convention (v1, v2 and v3) and go by a codename for the major upgrade. The 2006 Summer Upgrade for Fur Affinity is currently known as "Project Ferrox".

The forum began as the ''Mystical Messageboard'' in January 2000. In February 2001 it moved to [[The Nice]], expanded to thirteen forums in March 2002, and moved to its [http://www.masterzdm.com current site] in April 2003.

''Master Zen-Dao Meow'' features [[anthropomorphic]] [[characters]]; not surprisingly, [[furry]] characters make up a sizable portion of The Dream's population, as well. However, there are many [[human]] characters (as well as other types of fantasy beings) amongst The Dream's denizens.

For the most part, violence is kept at a reasonable level for the thread it occurs in. Most threads would merit a "TV-14" rating on television, at worse.

== Premise ==

In game terms, The Napping Cat's Dream is a multiverse of infinite realities inside the mind of a sleeping feline. Each '''player god''' ("PG", the player in real life) is represented by one or more '''avatars''' (characters). Avatars are required to be original creations; they cannot be directly taken from other fictional universes - e.g. you can play a psychic warrior with a sword of light, but not a [[wikipedia:Jedi |Jedi]] with a [[wikipedia:lightsaber|lightsaber]].

A PG can have more than one avatar; this condition is often referred to (tongue-in-cheek) as "MAD", or Multiple Avatar Disorder.

Each thread in The Dream is its own continuum; what happens to an avatar in a given thread does not carry over to other threads, unless the PG wishes it to be so. The threads are moderated by the PG who created them, referred to as the '''God Moderator''' (GM); as with any RP session, the GM has overall control of the scenario.

There is no set theme or genre in The Dream's role-playing threads, especially those in the PERFORM forum. Other types of threads are posted to their specific boards; threads with no particular forum set for them often wind up in MEET.

== Forums ==

The main page of The Dream features the ''Master Zen-Dao Meow'' comic, and related side projects, animated in Flash.

The thirteen forums are:

* ENTER - this is where new players come in and learn the rules and customs.
* MEET - general discussion and light role-playing.
* FLIRT - romantic role-playing.
* LEARN - tutorial threads on various subjects, Dream or RL.
* CREATE - artistic endeavours.
* DEBATE - lively debate, mostly on RL subjects.
* PITCH - advertisements from members (webcomics, commissions, etc.)
* REFLECT - personal reflections and emotional discussions.
* FIGHT - currently closed; the (eventual) home of the Messageboard War.
* SETTLE - threads detailing the homes folks have created in The Dream.
* PERFORM - the main role-playing forum; in-depth role-plays.
* PONDER - features the ''Master Zen-Dao Meow'' comic in HTML; the forum for discussion of the comic is currently inactive until the comic starts up again.
* ESCAPE - messages from members leaving The Dream, temporarily or otherwise.

New avatars start their Dream experience in the ENTER forum, often with a personal thread describing how they found their way into The Dream. Once an avatar has posted substantially thirty times (in a start thread, or elsewhere in ENTER), they can be sponsored for full access by an already-authorized avatar who has over 100 posts. An authorized avatar is one that has been sponsored ''and'' approved for full access by the administrators.

== Psychedelic Avatars ==

Over the years, the board's administration have awarded artwork in the form of "Avatar Cards" to various avatars who have made excellent contributions to The Dream as a whole through role-playing, art, or discussion. These avatars are referred to as '''Psychedelic Avatars'''.

Outside of the recognition, and the fact that PA with the lowest number in The Dream's official chat acts as moderator in lieu of one of the administrators or forum moderators, there are no other special functions assigned to Psychedelic Avatars.

The first thirteen cards (#0-12) in the series depict characters from ''Master Zen-Dao Meow''; the first card awarded to an avatar was for [http://www.masterzdm.com/NCD/showprofile.php?User=60 Dork Lord], on April 8, 2001.

For the majority of the run, the cards were awarded by [http://www.masterzdm.com/NCD/showprofile.php?User=17 Val, also known as the "Dancing Yin"], one of the avatars from the comic. Her announcements of new Psychedelic Avatars included a brief description of the avatar who was "ascending" to Psychedelic status, often in well-written verse.

The card series came to an end with Card #500, on December 31, 2004, as the cost of commissioning the artwork had started to become prohibative. There are no plans (as of August 2005) to resume the series at a later date. The last forum avatar to receive a PA card was #494, [http://www.masterzdm.com/NCD/showprofile.php?User=3832 Thalamasa]; the remaining six cards are characters or concepts in ''Master Zen-Dao Meow''.

== Adventure Cards ==

Whole threads are sometimes recognized for exceptional role-playing with the awarding of an "Adventure Card". The first Adventure Card was awarded for [http://www.masterzdm.com/NCD/adventures/adventure.php?id=1 Tales of Rhiann], in 2001. This series continues, although not on a set schedule.

== Crossovers ==

Avatars from other web comics appear in The Dream from time to time; for example, there have been crossovers between The Dream and the [[Gaming Guardians]] in the past, as The Dream is one of the "gaming systems" the Guardians defend.
