In 2010, he took an extended hiatus from the fandom and converted to Zen Buddhism with his husband, Ryone Caru. Darkpaw Camui (also known as Dee the Gothpuppy) is a gay babyfur musician and radio DJ from Long Island, New York, United States.

Darkpaw's fursona is a black wolf pup with purple eyes. His interest in the furry fandom started in 2003, when he was introduced to it through an ex-girlfriend. He got his furry name by combining what he thought was the most gothic furry name with the last name of his favorite Japanese singer, Gackt M.S. Camui.

Originally very shy and reluctant to meet new people, Darkpaw has since become much more open to making new friends in the furry fandom. He regularly attends both Anthrocon and Midwest FurFest ever since attending his first furry convention, Anthrocon 2007. At Anthrocon 2008, he hosted the MetalFurs! panel with his close friend Circa Fox.

In November 2006, he was introduced to his mate, Zim, a Washington fur. The two have been inseparable ever since, even though they live on opposite sides of the country. In September 27th 2008, the day before his birthday, he proposed to Zim at Rainfurrest; the two are now fiances.

Character
Darkpaw is a two year old black furred wolf puppy. He is very shy, and has some issues with meeting new people, usually being very quiet if he doesn't know the person. Once he gets to know someone, however, he is very friendly and outgoing, and extremely loyal. His most distinguishing characteristics are his purple eyes. He is known to wear a t-shirt of one of his favorite bands, along with a gold or silver ankh. Of course, being two years old, he is still in diapers.

Other Interests
Darkpaw is also into other interests in the fandom, such as sissy. He was introduced to this by Luca Shoal. He knew nothing about being a sissyfur before talking to Luca, and has been an avid sissy ever since. He is also into bondage, but will only indulge in it with his mate.

He is very much into another more obscure fetish known as stuck. It is essentially bondage, with the use of various types of adhesives (glue, tar, spider webs) to restrain the "victim". He has kept his interest in stuck fetishism rather hush-hush, but has become more open about it as of late.

Darkpaw and Zim
Darkpaw met his mate, a white arctic wolf named Zim, through a former mutual friend in November 2006. They began talking through various messenger services on the computer, which eventually evolved into talking on the phone several times a week. They became good friends, and eventually the relationship blossomed into something more, with Zim becoming Darkpaw's uncle.

Eventually, after a horribly failed relationship, Darkpaw realized that he had intense feelings for Zim, but didn't know how to bring the subject up. Luckily, Zim felt the same way, and, after expressing these feelings, the two decided to become mates, with Zim eventually becoming Darkpaw's daddy and primary caretaker.

In September 2007, Zim traveled to New York, and the two met for the first time in real life, spending close to a week together. The trip strengthened their relationship, and the two are madly in love. Darkpaw was hoping to take Zim to his first furry convention, Anthrocon 2008. Instead, they attended 2008 together, where Darkpaw surprised Zim by proposing to him at the end of the fursuit parade in full suit. They are now engaged. Video of the proposal can be found on YouTube.

In February 2009, Darkpaw will be relocating himself permanently to Washington to live with Zim.

Music
Darkpaw has been an avid musician and music collector all his life. He has been a musician ever since he was a small child when he used to sing in his church choir, and can play several different instruments, including drums, bass, guitar, piano/keyboards, and vocals. He has been in several bands in his life, the most recent being a circus funk band he started with several of his close friends. Also recently, he completed his first solo project, a stoner metal band where he plays all the instruments and performs all the vocals. He has also completed his first album, a dark ambient atmospheric noise music record, under the name of Voldtekt. Since completing the album, he has become much more active in music again, starting multiple collaboration projects with various other musicians, such as a dark trip-hop project with his friend Lorefox, a darkwave/electrogoth band with his mate, and an electronic project with Techno C. Procyon, which is still in the planning stages. He has also started working on his dream project, a dark industrial band called The Pinion. He is currently focusing his attention on the project's debut release.

He also collects music, spending quite a bit of money on his CD collection, which is in the thousands. His favorite styles of music are industrial and heavy metal, his favorite bands of all time being Nine Inch Nails, Type O Negative, Rush, anything involving Devin Townsend (Strapping Young Lad, The Devin Townsend Band, and various solo work), and anything involving Kristoffer "Garm" Rygg (Ulver, Arcturus, Head Control System, Borknagar, etc.). However, he tries not to limit himself in his musical tastes, which are quite eclectic. He is a fan of pretty much everything he can get his paws on, some of his favorite artists being Prince, Eternalux, Mayhem, Parliament Funkadelic, KMFDM, Dimmu Borgir, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Burzum, Bjork, Superjoint Ritual, Bauhaus, Marduk, Brian Wilson, Nile, The Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, The Cruxshadows, Immortal, Stevie Wonder, Dethklok, The Postal Service, Down, and many others. He is also heavily into the Japanese music scene, especially Visual Kei, which he claims is "the most gothic music ever made."

Radio
Darkpaw works in radio, at a local radio station on Long Island. He has his own show, which is a two hour spotlight on heavy metal, ranging from modern to classic. He also recently started working in talk radio, appearing as a guest on several different shows to give his opinion on the state of modern music, as well as general discussion about the current state of affairs of the government of Long Island.

Darkpaw also appears frequently as a so-called "expert", on a round table show called The Forum, which is hosted by his friend M'Phyus. When he's not doing on-air work for the station, he is usually working behind the scenes producing shows, being quite well versed in Pro Tools. He is also an engineer, running boards for the air and also working with other hosts recording their shows. He absolutely loves working in radio, and hopes to someday make it into a career working for a major radio station.

However, they will be attending 2008 together instead. In February 2009, Darkpaw will be relocating himself permanently to Washington to live with Zim.

Darkpaw in Real Life
In real life, Darkpaw is a white male who lives alone in an apartment in the ghetto of Long Island. He is a goth, but does not have the personality or the characteristics of a stereotypical one, being quite friendly and quick to crack a joke. He attends school at Nassau Community College, studying to become an English teacher, inspired to do so by a former friend.

Darkpaw loves reading novels, having read his first book, J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" at age 3. His favorite books of all time are Stephen King's "Dark Tower" saga. He is also an avid fan of movies, having quite a collection of DVDs. He favorite genre of film is horror, having been raised on horror films since a very early age by his mother. He also loves reading comic books, his favorite authors being Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, and Alan Moore. Darkpaw also has many other interests not pertaining to the furry fandom.

Darkpaw also appeared as a so-called musical "expert", on a recent round table show, giving his opinion about who the greatest musical performer of all time was. When he's not doing on-air work for the station, he is usually working behind the scenes producing shows, being quite well versed in Pro Tools. He is also an engineer, running boards for the air and also working with other hosts recording their shows. He absolutely loves his job, and hopes to someday make it into a career working for a major radio station, such as Sirius satellite radio.

Darkpaw works in radio, at a local radio station on Long Island, 90.3 FM. He has his own show, which is a two hour spotlight on heavy metal, ranging from modern to classic. He also recently started working in talk radio, appearing as a guest on several different shows to give his opinion on the state of modern music, as well as general discussion about the current state of affairs of the government of Long Island. He also appeared as a so-called musical "expert", on a recent round table show know as The Forum, giving his opinion about who the greatest musical performer of all time was.

Darkpaw Camui (also known as Dee the Gothpuppy), is a gay babyfur musician and radio DJ from Long Island, New York. His fursona is a black wolf pup with purple eyes. He recently attended his first furry convention, Anthrocon 2007. In November 2006, he was introduced to his mate, Zim, a Washington fur. The two have been inseparable ever since, even though they live on opposite sides of the country.
<div style="float:left">__TOC__</div>

Character
Darkpaw is a two year old black furred wolf puppy. He is very shy, and has some issues with meeting new people, usually being very quiet if he doesn't know the person. Once he gets to know someone, however, he is very friendly and outgoing, and extremely loyal. His most distinguishing characteristic is his purple eyes.

He is also into bondage, but will only indulge in it with someone he absolutely cares about and trusts.

Darkpaw and Zim
Darkpaw met his mate, a white arctic wolf named Zim, through his big brother Pawz in November 2006. They hope to get an apartment together sometime in the near future, although the location of said apartment has yet to be decided on. Darkpaw also hopes to take Zim to his first furry convention, Anthrocon 2008, next summer.

Darkpaw in Real Life
Darkpaw in real life is a 25 year old white male, who lives alone in an apartment in the ghetto of Long Island. He is a goth, but does not have the personality or the characteristics of a stereotypical one, being quite friendly and quick to crack a joke. He attends school at Nassau Community College, studying to become an English teacher, inspired to do so by a former friend. He loves reading novels, having read his first book, J.R.R.
