Cyrin (born August 5th, 1985) is a furry from Perth, Western Australia. His character is an anthropomorphic inflatable common dolphin pool toy.

Cyrin's name is pronounced like sigh-rinn.

History
Cyrin first discovered the furry fandom in 1997, via the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom. He frequented the alt.fan.furry and alt.lifestyle.furry newsgroups, at the time going by the alias Vulpie Fox (he has also previously used the aliases 'Lightning the Fox' and 'Bushy Fox'). He developed an interest in transformation, particularly artwork and stories involving aquatic species.

He arrived at his eventual fursona species of dolphin in early 2002. This arose from a long-standing fascination with the ocean, stemming from his early childhood. He first depicted his characters in stories and artwork around this time. He also discovered the local furry community, attending a small handful of furmeets in Perth.

Between 2003 and 2004, Cyrin explored other interests including balloonies and rubberfurs, and also became more actively involved with the Perth Furs.

In late 2004-2005, Cyrin developed several other characters (including a fish and cow) and completed a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering.

From mid-2008, Cyrin's fursona changed to an inflatable toy, inspired by the toykin community.

Cyrin: Acknowledged change from Perthfur Gathering to FurWAG.

Cyrin (born August 5th, 1985) is a furry from Perth, Western Australia. His character is an anthropomorphic inflatable common dolphin pool toy.

Cyrin's name is pronounced like sigh-rinn.

History
Cyrin first joined the furry fandom in 1997, not long after first gaining access to the Internet, side-stepping into it via the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom. He was quick to become involved in the alt.fan.furry and alt.lifestyle.furry newsgroups, at the time going by the alias Vulpie Fox (he has also previously used the aliases 'Lightning the Fox' and 'Bushy Fox'). During this time he quickly identified an interest in transformation, particularly artwork and stories involving aquatic species.

After a period of self-exploration (and indecision), he arrived at the revised species of dolphin in early 2002. This decision reflected a long-standing, somewhat uneasy relationship between himself and the ocean, stemming from his early childhood. It was at this time that he first attempted to depict his characters and write stories relating to his principal furry interests. This period also coincided with Cyrin's entry into the local furry community, attending a small handful of furmeets in Perth.

Between 2003 and 2004, Cyrin continued to explore the fandom, exploring other furry interest groups including balloonies (drawing upon a pre-existing fascination with inflatable toys) and rubberfurs, steering his creative output in these directions. He also became more actively involved with the Perth Furs.

As the Perth furry community saw an explosion in growth in late 2004-2005, Cyrin met Fallimar, his mate for 4 years. In the years that followed, he began to explore two new species, fish and cow, coinciding with events in his life such as moving out of home, finishing a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering and transitioning to full-time work. Ultimately, Cyrin chose to retain these aspects of his furry self as alter-egos, re-embracing the common dolphin species as his life stabilised.

In mid-2008, gaining a renewed sense of independence, Cyrin resumed the path of self-exploration to the point where his primary fursona changed to that of an inflatable toy. This transition was nurtured by rediscovering members of the toykin community (which he was involved with pre-2005).

Characters
Cyrin
Cyrin's main character (and fursona) is an anthropomorphic inflatable toy, based on his common dolphin character.

The toy's design is based on two main air chambers (tail and body, each with a separate valve) supported by a number of smaller, interconnected inflatable regions. It is constructed from medium gauge, semi-translucent glossy vinyl in four colours; grey, white, yellow and blue. Its features are simplified and of cartoon proportions, including crudely fused two-toed flippers, fin-like mittens and large, cute, green printed-on eyes. Two soft, solid plastic handles adorn its back, situated on either side of its huge, puffy dorsal fin.

Sahyris
Representing the darker, more sinister aspects of Cyrin's personality, Sahyris is a anthropomorphic fish creature (loosely described as a hybrid of fish, mermaid and sea dragon). Sahyris (pronounced like s-argh-riss) is a cold, calculating water-bound creature who enjoys his own company and his own predicament; being fully aware of the restrictiveness of his physical form and relishing this somewhat. The character is often used as a target form for transformation scenes, and roleplays.

Clover
Cyrin's third character is a female anthropomorphic Fresian dairy cow named Clover. She represents his female side, as well as some of his more elaborate and bizarre fetishes. Clover is, therefore, often found in combination with latex, milking and weight gain topics.

Furry Fandom
Cyrin collects inflatable toys and, to a lesser extent, plushies. Arguably, he is best known within the furry fandom for constructing a double-layered inflatable orca toy/suit by modifying pool toys. At the time of the suit's initial construction, he was known to be one of the few people who had built such a suit that was non-pressurised and featured a zip-entry. Since the initial incarnation, Cyrin has created a second revision of the design. In recent times, he has commissioned an inflatable cow toy from PuffyPaws.

Cyrin creates furry-themed digital artwork and photomorphs at what he considers to be a hobbyist level. He also takes an interest in creative writing.

He has previously volunteered the Perthfur Gathering, and is a current member of the committee organising FurWAG.

Conventions
Cyrin has attended the following furry conventions:
* MiDFur - 2009, 2010
* Further Confusion - 2012

He also volunteers as an organiser for the Perthfur Gathering.

Cyrin

Cyrin: /* Conventions */ Updated with current information.

Perthfur Gathering

The Perthfur Gathering (or PFG) is a large, bi-annual furmeet that takes place in Perth, Western Australia.

Format
The PFG is a free-form event, providing a large open space for attendees with only a few scheduled activities. Furs are encouraged to create their own fun, spawning a range of memorable happenings, from a race with giant inflatable toys to an impromptu dealers den). The event is open to all furries (and furry-friendly non-furs), and has previously attracted attendees from country towns and other Australian states. Fursuits and other furry attire are welcome, as are sketchbooks, electronic devices and cameras.

One meal is typically provided (usually lunch), while attendees are encouraged to make their own arrangements for the other. BYO alcohol is permitted however, due to the venue, this does not exclude under-18s from attending.

Traditionally, smaller warm-up and follow-up events are held on either side of the gathering.

PFG 6 was scheduled for October, 2012, and was to be themed around Halloween.. However, on September 29, 2012, Flair announced on Perthfurs that the 2012 iteration is cancelled due to an understaffed organizing committee.

A replacement yearly event for furries from Perth and surrounding areas was announced as being in the planning stages. This new event will continue many of the traditions established by the original Perthfur Gatherings, and is tentatively scheduled for October 2013.

Past PFGs
The first Perthfur Gathering was held on the 28 March 2009. To date, it has attracted the second largest number of attendees, somewhere in the region of 75. Notable guests included CynWolfe and Paul Kidd.

PFG2 followed on 22 August 2009. This event saw the introduction of an art contest and group photo.

PFG3 took place on 6 March 2010. The organisers were Cyrin, Foxronyo, Jack Wolf and Sirukie. Prizes were awarded to Flamey (art contest), Kruzer (inflatable toy race) and Foxen Alopex (door prize), among others.

PFG 4 took place on 9 October 2010. The organisers were Cyrin, Foxronyo, Muchi, Jack Wolf and Sirukie.

PFG 5 followed, after a short delay on 13 August 2011. The organisers were Jack Wolf, Muchi, Foxronyo, Sirukie, Drackir and Flair. This gathering saw 78-80 furries attend and broke all records for attendance to date.

Perthfur Gathering

2010-09-04T13:07:45Z

Cyrin: Next event date.

The Perthfur Gathering (or PFG) is a large, bi-annual furmeet that takes place in Perth, Western Australia.

The next PFG is scheduled for 9 October 2010.

Past PFGs
The first Perthfur Gathering was held on the 28 March 2009. To date, it has attracted the largest number of attendees, somewhere in the region of 75.

Cyrin

Cyrin: New/updated information from the Wayback Machine and Google Groups

He also volunteers as an organiser for the Perthfur Gathering.

Cyrin

2009-05-09T15:11:04Z

Cyrin: /* History */

Cyrin (born August 5th, 1985) is a furry from Perth, Western Australia. His character is an anthropomorphic inflatable common dolphin pool toy.

Cyrin's name is pronounced like sigh-rinn.

History
Cyrin first joined the furry fandom in or around 1998, not long after first gaining access to the Internet, side-stepping into it via the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom. He was quick to become involved in the alt.fan.furry and alt.lifestyle.furry newsgroups, at the time going by the alias Vulpie Fox.

Arguably, Cyrin is best known within the furry fandom for constructing a double-layered inflatable orca toy/suit by modifying pool toys. At the time of the suit's initial construction, he was known to be one of the few people who had built such a suit that was non-pressurised and featured a zip-entry. Since the initial incarnation, Cyrin has created a second revision of the design. Further to this, he collects inflatable toys and, to a lesser extent, plushies.

Cyrin creates furry-themed digital artwork and photomorphs at what he considers to be a hobbyist level. He also takes an interest in creative writing.

By association with his mate, Cyrin owns a nameless plump fox fursuit and a number of tails, including a cow tail.

Cyrin, aka Sahyris or Dεltafish, (born 1985) is a furry from Perth, Western Australia. He discovered the furry fandom and lifestyle in 1997. He is mated to Fallimar.

Character
Cyrin's fursona started out as an anthropomorphic common dolphin. He had a yellow streak around his eyes. Other distinguishing features included enormous flippery feet, webbed hands and elbow-fins. Occasionally, he took the balloonie form of a dolphin-shaped vinyl pool toy.

In 2006, his character became an amalgamation of species: fish, mer-creature, and dragon. The character shapeshifts among these species rather than remaining in a single form.

In 2007, he experimented with a female cow character.

He performed something of an about-face in 2008, re-adopting a dolphin character as his fursona. He now identifies to some extent with all three species.

Furry Fandom
Cyrin's principal furry 'scene' interests are transformation, rubberfurs and inflation.

He constructed a double-layered inflatable orca suit or sleep-sack from a pair of vinyl pool toys. He also collects inflatable toys.

He has created furry and animal-themed photomorphs. He has also dabbled with artwork and stories, but does not consider himself an artist or writer.

Cyrin's favourite species are dolphins, fish, mermaids, cows, deer and foxes. He owns a nameless plump fox fursuit and several tails, including a cow tail.

Photomorph

2007-08-13T12:09:11Z

Cyrin: described alternative techniques

A photomorph is a manipulated composite image, combining, replacing, or otherwise adjusting the body parts or other physical features of a particular feature of the main image, most often individual subject(s) of the image. It is sometimes used, outside of the furry art genre, in satirical, and often political settings.

Photomorphs in furry art
Photomorphing, as a subgenre of furry art, is usually intended for the presentation of human subjects as "furry" individuals, most often replacing the human head with a photorealistic head of another species (fantastical or otherwise); it can extend to the replacement of other body parts with photorealistic limbs and the addition of new ones as well. In addition, computer morphing can be employed to produce interpolations between source and destination images, creating hypothetical (and often unusual) body shapes and textures.

It is less common in production than fully hand-drawn or manually-created art. However, it is often pursued by furry artists who, at most other times, would specialize in the creation of hand-drawn art. Adobe Photoshop is the most common desktop application used for photomanipulation of raster images. Specialised computer morphing tools such as MorphMan may also be employed, either alone or in conjunction with other raster image manipulation software.

Cyrin:

Cyrin (aka Sahyris, Dεltafish) is a furry from Perth, Western Australia (see Ozfurs). He is probably best known as a dolphin, but now identifies with a nondescript piscene species.

Born in 1985, he first discovered the furry fandom/lifestyle in 1997. He is mated to Fallimar, a fursuiting/arty dragon girl.

Character
Cyrin's fursona started out as an anthropomorphic dolphin, with an identifiable yellow streak around his eyes. Other distinguishing features included enormous flippered feet, webbed hands and elbow-fins. Occasionally, he took the form of a dolphin-shaped vinyl pool toy.

Recently however, his character has become a strange amalgamation of species; fish, 'mermaid' (mer-creature) and dragon. Not really content with (or decisive about) a single form, his character shapeshifts amongst this pool of species.

Furry Fandom
Cyrin's principal furry 'scene' interests are transformation, rubberfurs and inflation.

He is perhaps most well-known within the aforementioned groups for constructing a double-layered inflatable orca suit/sleep-sack (from a pair of vinyl pool toys).

He has also dabbled with artwork and stories, but would not consider himself an artist/writer. He considers furry/animal-themed photomorphs to be his most successful creative endeavour to date.

Cyrin's favourite species are dolphins, fish, mermaids, cows, deer and foxes.
