I restored some of the changes made in [http://furry.wikia.com/index.php?title=ChloeRed&diff=72598&oldid=72578 this edit] as it seemed odd to not have links to ChloeRed's website or contributor information, or not to include the picture that was uploaded specifically for this article (if this picture should be deleted, please comment here or on the picture's talk page and it can be). I left the other edits, as I could see why they could be viewed as private information. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 23:48, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

:Yes, I just couldn't be bothered anymore.

:The majority of the stuff about me became "fluff", the information that to myself, seems to go together (where to find me, irc or IM) was seen to be better split between two different pages (user page and the article itself), and the feeling "well, the person who edited down all I wrote about me didn't really care what they were doing", afterall, what else can you say when someone edits an entry about someone else, who's name is all over the article, yet they spell the name wrong in the only bit added?

::I agree about the IM information - it's often best to put that on a user page. Things that you feel are worth preserving but which others consider "fluff" might also be better-placed there (I put [[User:GreenReaper|a lot of mine there]]). As for the editing . . . well, people just don't always type things right. I've spelt my own name incorrectly enough times to know that! When it's someone else whose name you are unfamiliar with, it's even easier to make a mistake. Fortunately this is a wiki, so it's easy enough to correct. :-) --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 00:10, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

See, to me, contact info is contact info.. You wouldn't expect to pick up the phonebook and find someone's phone number, but have to get a different one to find their fax line...
So I just decided I couldn't be bothered to have that there, and as the editor took out the majority of the information about me, I felt the article had become totally sterile feeling, and so I took out the rest.
As it is, with me it seems pointless to have 2 pages that are trying to give the same information out. The user of the wiki and the person are the same thing, having 2 pages about them, having to have slightly different information on them seems dumb.

If the "main" article about me is meant to be so sterile, and devoid of actual information about me, I might as well just ask to be excluced and not bother.

:It's meant to consist of factual information about yourself, just as a Wikipedia article would - and stuff like "Say "Hi" to her online." just doesn't seem to follow that. I don't follow the logic that if it shouldn't have such things, the article shouldn't be there at all. To us, factual information '''is''' the actual information - the sort of stuff that someone who's looking up this ChloeRed person that they've heard about somewhere might want to know. Anything else is just a personal opinion. In particular, that's why there's a link to your website and user page - so they know where they ''should'' go to find out more information about you, from your own perspective. --[[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]]([[User talk:GreenReaper|talk]]) 00:55, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Ok, can I request the removal and locking of the ChloeRed entry then.

'''ChloeRed''' (or '''Chloe''', a.k.a. '''Chloe Cresswell''') is a lazy [[raccoon]] from the [[wikipedia:United Kingdom|United Kingdom]]. Orginally a [[Northern Furs (UK)]] member, she's drifted away from the main group due to life pressures and a belief in friends over [[furmeets]].

An [[albino]] raccoon, she feels there's a lack of mono-chromatic furs, but although she has an interest in [[transformation]], she feels no need to go around increasing their numbers.

She also feels she's rare in using her real name online.

Counting herself an old person in internet terms, she's a long time member of the [[Transformation Story Archive]]. Going though her own real life transformation of being a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transsexual transsexual], she feels she doesn't contribute a lot to stories due to the pressure of seeing it all first paw.

She does feel there need to be more raccoons around, but is more than happy to watch others like Nikon Raccoon increase the numbers by transformation rather than doing it herself.

Say "Hi" to her online. She's always happy to try to talk to new people, but isn't a [[MUCK]] person. Find her on [[IRC]] on [[FurNet (IRC)|FurNet]] in channels #techfurs and #softpaws, and on the [[Transformation Story Archive]] IRC server [[TFNet]] in #TSA_List, plus on her own IRC server. She also maintains her own [[Pong]] file built from IRC and real life.

ChloeRed can also be found on Jabber, Yahoo!, ICQ and AIM chat.. also MSN via jabber, although that isn't too reliable. If you want to contact her this way though, it's best to email her first, as she ignores messages from people not on her contact list.

She loves [[Nikon Raccoon]], and is working on plans to kidnap (Coonnap?) the little raccoon as soon as she can.

Phil Geusz

2005-11-11T07:56:53Z

Chloered: Little update

'''Phil Geusz''' is a [[furry]] author, working primarily in the [[transformation]]-story sub-genre. He is best known for his work in the ''[[The Blind Pig|Blind Pig]]'' storyverse, as well as for his novels ''Transmutation Now!'', ''Freedom City'', ''Manifest Destiny'', ''Resisting Arrest'', ''Spur'', and ''Corpus Lupus'', some of which have been made available in book form. His TBP story ''Graduation Day'' appeared in the anthology ''[[Best in Show]]'', edited by [[Fred Patten]]; he also wrote the introduction to the transformation story section of this collection. He also has numerous other minor publication credits, and has appeared many times on the [[Ursa Major Awards|Ursa Major]] Recommended Reading List.

Phil's fiction is posted almost exclusively through the [[Transformation Story Archive]] Mailing List and its spinoffs, where he has been active since approximately 1996. ''[[TSAT]]'' has featured Phil's work many times; he also has been writing a column there for many years on the art of writing. Most recently, he has undertaken a new column at ''[[Anthro (magazine)|Anthro]]'', this one more generally targeted on things furry.

Phil also founded the annual ''[[TSA-Bash]]'', a sort of minicon for TSA-ers that has been held annually at various locations across the nation since 1998.

Although Phil does not [[MUCK]], he is known simply as Rabbit on the [[TFNet]] IRC channel #transformations. However, he attends and enjoys many [[convention|furry-cons]] in the American midwest and south, as time and budget allow. He can most often be found at [[Mephit Furmeet]], in his home state of [[wikipedia:Tennessee|Tennessee]], which he considers his "home con". Phil is divorced, and works for a major automobile manufacturer.

TFnet

2005-10-02T16:08:43Z

Chloered: Fixed channel name and added a little more

'''TFNet''' is a small [[IRC]] network which serves the members and others relating to the [[Transformation Story Archive]]. The network was founded in January of 2001 after the Undernet IRC network was disabled by a major denial-of-service attack.

There are two primary channels on the network:

* '''#TSA_Talk''' was the original channel on the network, and originally started as a gathering point for members of the [[TSA-Talk]] mailing list. It has expanded into more general transformation talk, but with less emphases on role playing.

* '''#Transformations''' is a secondary channel created with a lesser restrictions on role playing content. Otherwise it serves the same purpose of the original channel.

Many of the users on the network are members of both channels, and over time the distinction between the two have faded until they are nearly identical.

Other channels do exist on the network and not ever channel Transformation related. There is no restriction to Transformation related content on the network. For example, '''#TSA_Tech''' was created to try to remove the technical talk from the main channels, although this has not proved to be very effective.

The service is provided by Menagerie Internet Services.

The Winds of Change

2005-09-27T07:18:49Z

Chloered:

The '''Winds of Change''' is a story universe created by [[Jon Sleeper]].

Multiple universes combined in an accident to leave a mix of human, furry and strange powers that affect people as they hit puberty, in a rite of passage called "the change".

A time to look forward too, or fear.

Jon wrote a lot of stories around his charactor "David", which explained the cause and affect of the merging of the universe, and life afterwards.

A later set of stories came into being when Jon, and two friends, [[Brian Eirik Coe]], and [[Bryan Derksen]] started a round robin story. They each used their own names for the charactors and The Great Round Robin, as it was called, is the tale of the 3 friends and their new friends, as they adapt to their new world, bodies, and what they can do.

A while later, a new expriment started, this time called the Teen Round Robin.
This time the 3 orginal authors, and 2 new friends, Trey McElveen, and Doug Linger took on new charactors, and the story starts before their changes, and tells the story of the 5 friends, and the changes that pass though the huge shift in their lives as they pass though "the change".

Chloered: Basic outline of the story

'''Metamor Keep''' is a longish running story universe that started on the [[TSA-Talk]] mailing list.

It is a world of magic and war, with the background of a powerful wizard trying to take control of the fortress that is the keep.

3 spells cast on the fortress gates in an attack caused people there to transform, the first gate's spell was age regression, the second gate was transgender, and the third gate was transformation into an animal.

Counter spells helped lessen the effects, but anyone spending more then a week in the keep or area around it will find one of the spells will effect them, with random effects.

Transformation Story Archive

2005-08-20T22:40:14Z

Chloered:

The '''Transformation Story Archive''' (TSA) is a website that [[Wikipedia:archive|archive]]s stories that feature a personal physical [[Shapeshifting|transformation]], or feature its aftermath. It is the nucleus of a small community of [[Wikipedia:amateur|amateur]] writers and [[Wikipedia:Fan (aficionado)|fans]] of transformation stories.

Due to the prevalent [[Wikipedia:plot device|plot device]], most of the stories are [[science fiction]] or [[fantasy]]. The stories are categorized by the type of transformation, sometimes by the method of transformation:

* Animals
* [[Mythical]] Beasts ([[unicorn]]s, [[mermaid]]s, etc.)
* [[Furry]] Creatures ([[werewolves]], [[Anthropomorphism#Common_usage|anthropomorphic]] animals)
* The Other Sex ([[transgender]])
* Strange Changes ([[plushie]]s, cars, misc.)
* Worlds ([[Wikipedia:shared universe|shared universe]]s)

Though there aren't enough for their own category, some age regression or progression stories are also archived. Sometimes they are lumped with other categories, such as the transformation of a middle-aged man into an equine [[Horse#Words relating to horses|foal]].

One may distinguish two broad patterns in the role transformation or shapeshifting plays in the stories in the archive. In some, an unexpected but welcome transformation (especially various forms of [[lycanthropy]]) plays a thematic role similar to the plot device of the [[Wikipedia:protagonist|protagonist]] being a commoner who finds out they are actually royal, or have unsuspected magical talent, or have some other wonderful secret destiny. In others, a transformation imposed from without by a hostile entity is a challenge to be overcome; the protagonist seeks a way to reverse the transformation and regain their original form. In many such stories, the final resolution involves the unwillingly transformed protagonist coming to terms with his or her new shape and turning it to their advantage rather than finding a way to return to "normal".

Most of the stories are written in either [[Wikipedia:first person|first person]] or [[Wikipedia:third person limited omniscient|third person limited omniscient]].

The website was started by Thomas Hassan of [[Wikipedia:Austria|Austria]], who has since passed on the duties of maintenance to others. The archive has a high proportion of [[transgender]] and [[furry]] wish-fulfillment stories because they were the most numerous at the time of its creation. Its stated goal is to become the premier Internet archive of transformation-themed fiction, and a showcase for amateur authors. It does not accept [[fanfiction]].

At one point, the TSA accounted for a significant portion of the Internet traffic of Austria. The main server has been moved to the [[Wikipedia:United States|United States]], and there are now [[Wikipedia:mirror (computing)|mirror servers]] in [[Wikipedia:Australia|Australia]], and [[Wikipedia:Europe|Europe]].

'''ChloeRed''' (or '''Chloe''', a.k.a. '''Chloe Cresswell''') is a lazy raccoon from the [[United Kingdom]]. Orginally a [[Northern Furs (UK)]] member, she's drifted away from the main group due to life pressures and a belief in friends over [[furmeets]].

An [[Albino]] [[Raccoon]], she feels there's a lack of mono-chromatic furs, but although she has an interest in [[Transformation]], she feels no need to go around increasing their numbers.

She also feels she's rare in using her real name online.

Counting herself an old person in internet terms, she's a long time member of the [[Transformation Story Archive]]. Going though her own real life Transformation of being a [[Transexual]], she feels doesn't contribute a lot to stories due to the pressure of seeing it all first paw.

She does feel there need to be more [[Raccoons]] around, but is more then happy to watch others like [[Nikon Raccoon]] increase the numbers by Transformation then doing it herself.

Say "Hi" to her online, she's always happy to try to talk to new people, but isn't a [[Muck]] person. Find her on [[IRC]] on [[Furnet]] in channels #techfurs and #softpaws, and on the [[Transformation Story Archive]] IRC server [[TFNet]] in #TSA_List.

'''Scroll down for the list of people, and for categories of people.'''

Know about someone? Write a page and add it to this category! In general, it is best to use the name by which people go in the community - either a nickname or their real name. Be as specific as possible, to avoid nickname collisions.

If both are publicly used, write the nickname and use a redirect (<nowiki>#REDIRECT [[NickName]]</nowiki> on its own) to point the real name to it.

It's probably not a good idea to link a real name to a person that only goes by their nickname, even if you know it. Some people prefer to be anonymous - please respect that! :-)

If people fit in a subcategory like [[:Category:Artists|Artists]], please put them in the People category ''and'' the subcategory, so we can have a complete list of people. This probably shouldn't apply to lower-down layers, so if someone is well known as a [[:Category:Comic artists|comic artist]], don't put them in Artists as well.

== People to add ==

If you can think of someone that deserves writing about, add them in here, and maybe someone will. Don't let that stop '''you''' writing about someone, including yourself!
