Cherushi (in full Cherushi Kinukaze) is an artist who lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She has been known by other character names including Kumori, Shishta, and Ja'Ren. These characters have since become supporting characters in a comic project she is working on entitled "Better Than This".

Cherushi's fursona is an Ervajac: a serval crossed with an Egyptian jackal.

She is a very light-hearted personality, and is very flirtatious, but highly devoted to her mate, AmonOmega. She does, however, have a very short temper, and generally prefers her solitude. She is also fairly shy and needs to have others engage her in a conversation before she feels comfortable conversing.

In the Japanese Anime based comic, "Better Than This", Cherushi plays the part of an eccentric bohemian girl living in a Vancouver, British Columbia apartment complex heavily populated by women. She works in a book store down the street, and constantly changes her style and looks. She is infatuated with the main character, AmonOmega, when he moves into the building, and they meet in the pornographic section of her book store.

Unlike many of the other girls in the story, Cherushi would rather stay friendly with Amon, instead of throwing herself at his feet. She is often left feeling very low when the other girls continuously rub their successes with Amon in her face. She spends much of the story trying to pinpoint her personality and who she really is.
Cherunephre
Cherunephre, is Cherushi's almost-identical ancestor from the time of Ancient Egypt, and is a servant to Anubis the Egyptian god of the dead. She learns that because she is half-jackal, he can control half of her soul, and tells her that she is now to act as a reaper on Earth for him. However, he cannot control the other half of her soul, as he has no domain over the serval species.

She becomes a "Necro Reaper", meaning that while she is in service, she is quite literally dead. She searches the land for escaped evil souls and captures them to be judged at the weighing of the heart ceremony. If they are guilty (which they usually are) their soul is consumed by Ammut and they cease to exist.

Cherunephre ends up losing a battle with a spirit who turns out to be demonic. When she returns to her normal form, the spirit follows her home, and a fight ensues. Cherunephre loses her right eye during the battle, and Anubis replaces it with the "Eye of Anubis". With this, she can see once more, and he can communicate with her and see what she sees.

In this time line, Cherunephre is single, where as Cherushi in modern times is with AmonOmega. Cherunephre does not have time or patience for a solid relationship, she merely has physical connections with some. Cherushi on the other hand, is completely loyal to Amon.

When Cherunephre is in her normal form, the eye appears to be nothing more than glass, and she cannot see through it. It is only when she serves Anubis that she can use it's power.

Cherunephre is different then Cherushi most strongly in personality. She is bitter and sullen, and focused on her work. The main physical difference between Cherushi and Cherunephre is visible when they are alive. Cherushi has brown hair, and Cherunephre has black hair. Of course, Cherunephre has the most obvious difference when it comes to her missing eye.
Cherunephre

Recently, Cherushi has created a separate storyline involving a distant past scenario. In it, Cherushi's identical ancestor, Cherunephre, is summoned by the god of the dead, Anubis (god). She learns that because she is half jackal, he can control half of her soul, and tells her that she is now to act as a reaper on Earth for him.

Cherushi (in full Cherushi Kinukaze) is a furry artist who lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Recently, Cherushi has created a separate storyline involving a distant past scenario. In it, Cherushi travels to her home in Egypt only to be summoned by the god of the dead, Anubis (god). She learns that because she is half jackal, he can control half of her soul, and tells her that she is now to act as a reaper on Earth for him. However, he cannot control the other half of her soul, as he has no domain over the serval species.

Cherushi becomes a "Necro Reaper", meaning that while she is in service, she is quite literally dead. She searches the land for escaped evil souls and captures them to be judged at the weighing of the heart ceremony. If they are guilty (Which they usually are) their soul is consumed by Ammut and they cease to exist.

Cherushi ends up losing a battle with a spirit who turns out to be demonic. When she returns to her normal form, the spirit follows her home, and a fight ensues. Cherushi loses her right eye during the battle, and Anubis replaces is with the "Eye of Anubis". With this, she can see once more, and he can communicate with her and see what she sees.

When Cherushi is in her normal form, the eye appears to be nothing more than glass, and she cannot see through it. It is only when she serves Anubis that she can use it's power.

In the Japanese Anime based comic, "Better Than This", Cherushi plays the part of an eccentric bohemian girl living in a Vancouver, British Columbia apartment complex heavily populated by women. She works in a book store down the street, and constantly changes her style and looks. She is infatuated with the main character, AmonOmega when he moves into the building, and they meet in the pornographic section of her book store...

Unlike many of the other girls in the story, Cherushi would rather stay friendly with Amon, instead of throwing herself at his feet. She is often left feeling very low when the other girls continuously rub their successes with Amon in her face. She spends much of the story trying to pinpoint her personality and who she really is.

The Serval is a species of wild cat native to Africa. Around a meter in length, they are slender, with long legs and a fairly short tail. Their large oval ears are tall are set close together. Most Servals have a bold pattern of black or very dark brown spots on a tawny background, with the usual countershading of white on throat and underside.

Variant coloration
The Servaline variation, once thought to be a separate species, has a duller, "freckled" pattern of spots.

Melanistic (near-black) Servals are fairly common. They are usually found in mountains or forested areas, rather than the grasslands where most Servals make their home.

A very few white or "white-footed" Servals have been born in captivity. These are white with some golden patches and silvery-grey spots, with blue or green eyes; they are not albinos.

Characters
There have been quadruped Serval characters on MUCKs and other multiplayer worlds themed around The Lion King and African wildlife. Among these are The Lion King MUCK, African Tails MUCK, Sunrise MUCK, and Maisha MUCK.

There are a number of anthropomorphic Serval characters associated with the furry fandom, some of them fursonas.

Anubis is the Greek name for the ancient jackal-headed god of the dead in Egyptian mythology. His name is more accurately spelled Anpu, but he is also known as Sekhem Em Pet. He serves as both a guide of the recently departed and a guardian of the dead.

The Jackal was associated with the domain of the dead, due to the fact that the jackal oriented in the Western Desert. The cult of Anubis eventually became associated with that of Osiris, which led to the belief that he was the son of Osiris and Nephthys, the wife of Set, who seduced Osiris in order to have a son when she discovered Set was infertile.

He supervises the embalming and mummification processes, and presides over the Opening of the Mouth ceremony. He also performs the Weighing of the Heart ceremony, in which the deceased person's heart is weighed against Ma'at's Feather of Truth. If the heart is heavier then the feather, the heart is fed to Ammut, the devourer of souls.

Anubis is also linked to the Imuit fetish, which is a headless stuffed animal skin hanging from a pole standing in a pot, often illustrated on stelae or papyri. A model was found in the tomb of Tutankhamun, but it is unknown what it was used for.

Anubis and furry
Anubis is very popular among furry fans because of his anthropomorphic jackal form. As a result, he is a very popular subject of furry artwork. Many furries pattern themselves after Anubis, making jackals one of the more popular species of furry in the fandom.
AmonOmega (Commonly, Amon) is a furry artist who currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Known in the past by other names, including Ookami and Blazerwolf. He graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta with a Degree in Media Arts and Animation.

Amon's fursona is a wolf. Predominantly red in colour, he has a white winter coat as well.

Amon is an artist at heart, and dabbles in all forms. He particularly loves to travel, and wishes to one day visit Europe and study the architecture. He idolizes Michelangelo, and his every waking moment is devoted to art.

He is very loyal to his mate, Cherushi, and is rarely seen without her at his side, as she is very protective and fairly violent if provoked. He loves her regardless, and is a wonderful husband. He is a fun-loving person, but has a very serious and sensual nature. He does not take to drama and will quickly put an end to unnecessary childish behaviour.

Amon is the main character in the comic "Better Than This". In the story, he travels to Vancouver, British Columbia to become an animator. While there, he shacks up in a bizarre apartment complex heavily populated with mischievous women, all of whom are immediately infatuated with him (in jest toward stereotypical love triangle scenarios in Japanese Anime such as Love Hina) and he must eventually choose between them.

The comic is adult in nature, and tends to delve into darker situations and personalities than typical cartoons, including a situation where Amon is classified as a player when he dates several of the women in his building at the same time. Of course, there are always repercussions for our actions, and he must learn this on his own.

The story is heavily influenced by real life experiences he had whilst studying at the Art Institute of Vancouver.

Cherushi (in full Cherushi Kinukaze) is a furry artist who lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

However, he cannot control the other half of her soul, as he has no domain over servals.

He also performs the Weighing of the Heart ceremony, in which the deceased person's heart is weighed against Maat's Feather of Truth.

Cherushi (in full Cherushi Kinukaze) is a furry artist who lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She has been known by other character names including Kumori, Shishta, and Ja'Ren. These characters have since become supporting characters in a comic project she is working on entitled "Better Than This".

Cherushi's fursona is an Ervajac: a serval crossed with an Egyptian jackal.

She is a very light-hearted personality, and is very flirtatious, but highly devoted to her mate, Amon. She does, however, have a very short temper, and generally prefers her solitude. She is also fairly shy and needs to have others engage her in a conversation before she feels comfortable conversing.

Recently, Cherushi has created a separate storyline involving a distant past scenario. In it, Cherushi travels to her home in Egypt only to be summoned by the god of the dead, Anubis. She learns that because she is half jackal, he can control half of her soul, and tells her that she is now to act as a reaper on Earth for him. However, he cannot control the other half of her soul, as he has no domain over servals.
