'''Furry Weekend Atlanta 2024''' was a furry convention hosted at the The Marriott Marquis Atlanta and The Hilton Atlanta hotels from Thursday, May 9 to Sunday, May 13, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia. With just over 15,000 attendees, FWA 2024 was the second largest con by number of participants of 2024 and the third largest con of all time as of July 10, 2024. The theme of FWA 2024 was "Furry University 2", a repeat of a prior theme they had done in the past, "Furry University". Attendees of this convention could do a variety of things such as attend panels, go to raves, visit the game room, fursuit or socialize with fursuiters in the main lobby of the Marriott Marquis, play board games, swim in the Marriott's outdoor pool, peruse and purchase goods from the Dealer's Den, hang out with friends, attend meet and greets, visit local attractions unaffiliated with the con such as the Aquarium, and stand in line waiting for elevators. In addition to the above mentioned activities, many attendees also went to the Moonlight Festival, an adult-oriented special event in the Marquis Ballroom held from 8 PM to 2 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 and Sunday, May 12, 2024.

To access certain areas of the convention premises, an attendee would need to scan a wristband that they would get after officially registering for the event. This wristband is in place of the usual badge that usually hangs around an attendee's neck via a lanyard that most other conventions opt for. Wristbands from 2023 were not able to grant access to these areas as the podium used for scanning would flash red when an attendee with a year-old wristband tried to gain entrance. The wristbands have not come without controversy as some attendees have reported staff making them too tight in the past. Still others have expressed annoyance with having to remove their paws from their fursuit to be able to scan their wristbands. Despite this, there have been no indications of the convention moving away from wristbands in the future.
