Calba: Updated Telegram link + removed former committee member

SotonFurs is a regularly held furmeet located in Southampton, United Kingdom. As of March 2026, the Telegram channel reports over 530 members.

Meets
SotonFurs commenced regular meetings on August 1, 2015, establishing Heartbreakers Bar / Venue (formerly The Strand Pub) in Southampton as its venue. The bar requires attendees to be 16 years of age or older for entry. However, many attendees choose to gather on the adjacent public road, which is not subject to this restriction.

Meetings are typically scheduled for one Saturday each month, a pattern consistently maintained with rare exceptions, such as relocating meet dates due to conlicting local events including Southampton Pride.

From 11:30 to 17:00, SotonFurs has exclusive access to the upstairs floor of Heartbreakers. This space functions as both a fursuit changing lounge and general social area.

The venue enforces a zero tolerance policy on outside food and drinks. Violations of this policy may result in disciplinary action, including potential suspension or ban from future meets.

The fursuit walk follows a route through the Southampton Central Parks, with frequent stops at various statues and landmarks for rests and photography.

Meet Timetable
* 11:30: Access to the venue opens
* 14:00 - 15:00: Fursuit walk
* 17:00: Access to the upstairs area of the venue ends

Parties
Twice per year, SotonFurs organises special parties. These events are hosted at The Papillion. Entry is typically free of charge, subject to an age requirement of 16 years or older. These parties are the Summer Party and Winter Party.

Party Timetable
The Summer and Winter Parties operate on an extended timetable compared to the regular monthly meets. A typical party includes:
* 13:00: Access to the venue opens
* 15:00 - 16:00: Fursuit walk
* 20:00 - 23:30: Live DJ performances
* 00:00: Event ends
Other events may also be run, such as charity auctions and talent contests, but these vary between parties and are not guaranteed.

Attendance
Attendance numbers for SotonFurs vary between meets, but typical attendance regularly exceeds 60 individuals. Intermittent overlaps with other significant meets, such as LondonFurs, tend to result in lower numbers. The occurrence of special events like the Summer and Winter Parties typically attract a larger number of participants.

Committee
As of September 2026, the SotonFurs committee members are:
* Rhona Whitefeather (Chairbird)
* Stone Mane
* Jago
* Rain Blossom

Trivia & History
An unofficial pre-meet gathering regularly occurs at Stakks, a local pancake restaurant, starting around 10:00 on the day of the meet. This serves as an informal breakfast and social opportunity for many attendees before the meet commences.

The unexpected passing of committee member Zee Blade was announced via the SotonFurs Telegram on December 1, 2024. A minute of silence was observed at the 2025 Winter Party.

SotonFurs' official Bluesky account is currently their most actively updated social media platform. Older accounts (such as YouTube and X) are presently inactive.

Furry camping

2025-08-28T19:41:25Z

Calba: Added Core Element

cleanup
Furry camping is a type of furry get-together in which most of the events takes place outdoors. As in normal camping outings, the participants are likely to either take temporary shelter in a tent, cabin, or lodge, particularly in a wooded or climatologically partially-inhospitable area.

While not technically regarded as camping, ski events also mostly take place outside of manmade buildings (while the participants are likely to take shelter in a hotel). Waterborne cruises such as Furry Cruise, however, mostly fall outside of the outdoor event genre, since most of the subevents within the cruise take place in or on a boat, where hotel-style accommodations and amenities are readily available.

Until its demise, Oklacon was the largest single furry camping convention in the world, and also the first and longest-running outdoor furry convention in the United States. However, Camp Feral! is the longest running furry camping convention in the world. As of 2019, the biggest U.S. camping events are Wild Nights and Campfire Tails.

Outdoor events overview
Furry camping, in comparison to indoor furmeets and conventions, tend to have less constant worries about attendee capacity, as the main incentive for campers is to bring their own temporary shelter and gear. However, as most furry camping events as of 2009 take place in the summer in continental climate zones, the main worry for organizers is the safety and self-regulation of furry campers in a less-constrained, less-tamed atmosphere.

Calba: Convention attendance (Core Element)

Calba, known occasionally as Calba Saturday (Born August 8, 2000 in Poole, United Kingdom), is a male furry fan who lives in Southampton.

Fandom involvement
Calba first discovered the furry fandom in 2013 through the webcomic Twokinds. However, he did not become actively involved until 2023, when his friend Knedit invited him to attend the British furry convention, ConFuzzled, in 2024. Around this time, he also created his fursona and launched related social media accounts on X and Telegram.

Calba regularly attends UK furmeets, including SotonFurs and LondonFurs.

Fursona
Calba's fursona is a male white-tailed deer named Calba Saturday. His fur features a blend of light brown, dark brown, and off-white tones.

Convention attendance
* ConFuzzled - 2024, 2025
* Core Element - 2025
* Furcation - 2024¹
* NordicFuzzCon - 2025

1 - Attended for one day only

Trivia
The name "Calba" is a portmanteau of the Latin phrase "cauda alba", meaning "white tail".

The surname "Saturday" originated at the British furcon, Furcation 2024, where he attended as a one-day guest on Saturday. Thus, his badge displayed his name as "Calba Saturday", which led to some confusion. This handle was later adopted as his fursona’s official surname.

* ConFuzzled - 2024, 2025
* Furcation - 2024¹
* NordicFuzzCon - 2025

SotonFurs

Calba: Added categories

SotonFurs is a regularly held furmeet located in Southampton, United Kingdom. As of May 2025, the Telegram channel reports over 480 members.

* 14:00 - 15:00: Fursuit walk

* 15:00 - 16:00: Fursuit walk
* 20:00 - 23:30: Live DJ performances
* 00:00: Event ends

Committee
As of May 2025, the SotonFurs committee members are:
* Rhona Whitefeather (Chairbird)
* Root
* Stone Mane
* Jago
* Rain Blossom
