Mississippi Anthropomorphics

2022-02-17T15:29:00Z

Burlington: As the group is basically dead/replaced, removed the statement about furries relying on the group

Mississippi Anthropomorphics, shortened to MS Anthro, is a regional furry group for the state of Mississippi, USA.

History
MS Anthro, which is not related to the now defunct MAP!, was created due to the lack of an active place for furries in Mississippi to socialize by Gale Smilax and Fenix Archer in 2014. Originally, the group was mainly for furries attending Mississippi State University. Meets were posted on their website as well as on the group's Facebook, both of which were created in 2014.

General
The group was originally headed by Gale Smilax, who ran it until July 2016 when she moved out of the state. The group's leadership was transferred to MEDS,

Burlington's activities in the fandom include fursuiting and hosting meets in their home state. Outside of the fandom, they are a fan of |Mechanical Keyboards and riding on their Onewheel.

In June 2020, Burlington founded Mississippi Furs, which was initially an offshoot of Mississippi Anthropomorphics, due to a schism between the members of Mississippi Anthropomorphics. Over time, many of the people migrated from Mississippi Anthropomorphics to Mississippi Furs, which is now considered the de facto furry group for the state of Mississippi.
