'''Neopets''' is an online virtual pet simulation game. The site was opened to the public November 15, 1999 by Adam Powell and Donna Williams, but the company was bought by Doug Dohring soon after being created. Currently it is owned by Viacom and valued at USD 160 million.

As of January 2006, there are 53 Neopet species available. Most species resemble real animals — for example, the Nimmo is a stylized [[frog]], both the Zafara and the Blumaroo are [[kangaroo]]-like, the Kougra is [[tiger]]-like, and the Pteri is a [[bird]]. '''Kaput Otter''' is an artist living in the Boston area. She was known for a few years as [[CalicoPaisley]], under which alias she uploaded to such galleries as [[Elfwood]] and [[Yerf]]. She then changed her name to Kaput in 2003 in the guise of selling porn semi-anonymously. When this venture turned out to be more fun than she expected, she relaxed her formalities and came out of the closet.

Kaput is currently a student, slated to graduate in May of 2006 from the Art Institute of Boston. Reconciling her love of furry art with a professional career has always been one of her major focuses -- carrying with it both hopes and fears in the face of stigmata against the furry fandom. Kaput takes her position as professional illustrator very seriously and does her best to work with clients and their visions.

She also works with [[Rabbit Valley]] whenever she can, selling prints and comics; this includes the title "Service with a Smile" which was published in June 2005 [[Spooo! Presents]] #3.
