...I thought I was on Encyclopedia Dramatica for a moment. This is one of the most non-neutral articles i've ever seen on Wikifur, even more so than any vanity page. Though I suppose that the language makes it quite clear who wrote it and also makes it clear that they don't know how to write a wiki article. At all.

:I concur. Even if some of the content (such as the DNP list) is cut-and-pasted from the official site, it still makes this article read more like a rant than an encyclopedia entry. The language and tone are sufficiently brazen to warrant <nowiki>{{NPOV}}</nowiki> until it can be significantly edited for content. In particular, I don't think it's necessary or wise to crosspost the DNP policy from the site to WF. It would be sufficient to summarize that the site has a liberal DNP policy (with certain exceptions); an itemized list of those artists and the reasons for their inclusion does nothing to enhance the quality or readability of the article. I'm not casting any stones here, but certainly I'd encourage editors to remember that first and foremost our goal is to be "the furry encyclopedia" and that some care should thus be taken to write articles that are original, relevant, informative, and well-referenced. --[[User:CodyDenton|CodyDenton]] 06:51, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

Additionally, there are no written rules concerning what furry content one can and can't post, although there is a rule (''Post furry art, as long as it doesn't suck shit.'') that keeps a form of quality control in check on the site.

The site also offers advertising space to those willing to provide something in exchange (usually artwork made exclusively for the site and/or at the behest of Sage or Sechs).

==History==
When Meow was a junior high school student, she founded Chita for [[cheetah|cheetahs]] on July 23, 2004. Based on [[wikipedia:PhpBB#phpBB2|phpBB2]], there are only few features in Chita.

In February 2006, Chita became a CSS-based website. However, it suddenly closed because of private problems in late February 2006. Chita restarted on March 19, 2006, and its system was also switched to [[wikipedia:PunBB|PunBB]]. Since that, Chita started to include something furry.

The system of Chita switched to [[wikipedia:PhpBB#phpBB3|phpBB3]] with new fresh theme since June 5, 2007. Chita also started to include lots of furry images from the Net. On October 11, 2008, Chita became a main furry website.

In mid January 2009, many images on Chita were missed due to deletion from [[wikipedia:ImageShack|ImageShack]]. Fortunately, all missed images have been released by Meow as packages after the disaster. On January 22, 2009, the blog mode on Chita began.
