:::I can see the sense in removing the page and waiting for more definite information on the event going ahead, though of course the main convention was only postponed to 2015 rather than being cancelled, I am not sure what the rules are on how far in advance something like that can be discussed here.

I have removed the edit that added "Kitual (Supposed Con Owner) left a young child '''''alone''''' on the IoW where the venue had no idea what furisle was.", as it doesn't appear supported by the Facebook discussion (a screencap of which was linked to). Saying that Kitual '''left''' someone somewhere suggests they actually met up at some point and Kitual then abandoned them, but the FB discussion reads more like "someone went to the advertised venue and couldn't find anyone there who knew anything about the event".

An attempt was made to sell early interest tickets through Indiegogo alongside various merchandise and other offers, though this proved largely unsuccessful, and no actual tickets were sold so far in advance and with the limited information available.

This was followed by more setbacks, when the first choice hotel requested confirmation six months in advance of the details of at least 200 guests, when the convention organising committee had been planning for 120 or so. The result of this was a desperate search for an alternative venue, which proved of limited success. The idea of the event has been criticised by a small group within the fandom, though staff running it are pushing ahead regardless, responding instead to those that have expressed an interest in attending. Due to these various issues, the main convention has had to be pushed back a year.

The original convention was replaced instead by the Fur Isle Events, running at various times through the year, many of them two days worth of planned activities. These were intended to bridge the gap between small local meets and full scale conventions, offering organised activities, entertainment, on-site food and more. The choice to locate on an island in particular raised concerns, due to the increased travel cost of the ferry crossing, prompting the committee to investigate coach hire as a cheaper alternative.

As well, the website has attracted much negative attention, in its initial incarnation, a simple template, only half finished, this disappeared for some months, for 'maintenance' only to reappear just the same. When the Summer Party was announced, the site was replaced with a single page featuring some generic images and blocks of text.
