86.145.73.107:

Greetings! Can you provide a reason for removing the information about ThrashWolf from the article ScotiaCon? After searching, it appears ThrashWolf did found this convention, was the chairman, did resign, and this was a contributing cause to the delay in the convention's first iteration. If you have information to the contrary, can you provide references and a summary when editing the article? As it appears this edit is not correct, I have rolled it back. I welcome any factual edit you can make to the article in the future that does not remove context which is in fact correct. --BlueOtter 15:35, 2 August 2012 (EDT)

Certainly, Thrashwolf was not the sole founder of Scotiacon and as such should be noted as such. It was not the main factor for delaying the convention and was due to hotel issues and events not being set up for the convention. Perhaps it would be better to have each of the founders names in the first paragraph, I shall look to doing this after the weekend.

ScotiaCon (pronounced "Sko-sha-con") is a furry convention, the first to be held in Scotland. It was originally planned to be held in 2010. The date was pushed back, and ScotiaCon was first held in Inverness from the 15th-17th July, 2011. The official website was opened in 2009, approximately one year before the original date of the convention. It was relaunched in 2010, when it was decided to change the convention date.

The mascot of the convention is Wallace, a Scottish terrier named after national hero William Wallace.

ScotiaCon 2011
ScotiaCon 2011 took place in the Ramada Jarvis Hotel in Inverness.

The first convention had a Scottish theme, with events focused around Scottish culture. Attendees included two guests of honour; fursuit maker Fatkraken and Scottish composer Fox Amoore., and a full-length trailer was released on November 11th, 2010. The official trailer was released early 2011, with outtakes from that trailer released in April 2011.

An unofficial pre-con Friday afternoon/evening event extended the weekend for attendees coming from further afield who wanted to make more use of their trip.

Tickets
Ticket prices were announced along with the unveiling of the new ScotiaCon website, and were set at two levels:

*Basic, including a conbook, at £65
*Sponsor, including conbook, t-shirt and a print, at £95

Prices did not include accommodation, allowing attendees to choose whichever hotels in the area they wanted, although a special discount rate was arranged with the Ramada Jarvis hotel for those wishing to avail themselves of the facilities.

The first official ticket was auctioned at RBW 2009's charity auction for a final sum of £90.

Events
The first events were officially announced in the February 2011 news post, and eventually included a science talk, charades, a Highland Fur Games (won by Awkore), the "Furry-vision Song Contest" (a Eurovision Song Contest style event) hosted by Smirnoff and Pinky, and "Eat Scotland" (a chance to sample Scottish delicacies such as Cullen Skink (a type of fish soup), haggis, and deep fried Mars bars), as well as the usual fursuit walk, dances and auctions.<ref name=Eq3>ScotiaCon Episode III: The Whiskey And The Rain Equium's journal on Fur Affinity, dated July 17, 2011. ===Auction===
Saturday evening saw the auction take place, with a staff and Guests of Honor-signed limited edition bottle of 30-year old whiskey, donated by The Famous Grouse, as the most expensive item being sold at an astonishing £450.
