80.4.224.8: /* Fact and Fiction */

Unreferenced

Arcturus Nova (also known as N, Paddy, Fiscal, and Nicolyrezk) is a female furry, whose fursona is a blue and white, yellow-spotted dragoness who is the system administrator for WeyrSpace, ArtPlz, and WTFur. She currently lives in Wales, United Kingdom, where she intends on attending College.

Furry
Arcturus classes herself as otherkin, though is often seen to joke that she is just "suffering from delusions" instead. Whilst usually being an anthropomorphic dragoness, is known to be a shapeshifter, and has many varying guises.

Real Life
In the land outside of the vast, bizarre Internet, Arcturus is a rather diminutive half-irish brit. She spends her days working on new and exciting projects for Angry Draken Media - as well as working on a number of projects in her free time, such as WTFur. Whilst many online find her to be a rather exuberant, outspoken person, in real life she is quite introverted and shy.

Technical responsibilities
Arcturus, as administrator of WeyrSpace (also known as Weyr Networks), helps host a number of websites for individuals, groups and small organisations, both furry and non-furry in nature. In the past, she has helped to stream FBC content and does occasionally broadcast shows herself, after previously also helping to rebroadcast 2 Sense and provide a show archive. She was the founder of ArtPlz, following the breakup of Fur Affinity when she withdrew her hosting of the community following a managerial disagreement with Jheryn Lightfoot, Fur Affinity's founder and administrator.

ArtPlz itself also saw some drama after Arcturus developed an Fchan clone for posting furry art, which she titled ChanPlz. Several volunteers then withdrew their support for ArtPlz, including Arshes Nei stating ethical reasons for doing so. ChanPlz was taken down a few days later by Arcturus and others involved in its creation and normality was restorted.

Currently, Arcturus is an administrator for and systems administrator of WTFur, a furry imageboard much like FChan, but without many of the restrictions.

Fact and Fiction
To many people online, Arcturus is becoming synonymous with Sibe, thanks in part to her work in pointing out and occasionally exploiting security vulnerabilities in FurAffinity, as well as her work on WTFur, which posts the copyrighted of several furry artists under the guise of "fair use" due to the, in her words, "eponymous dictatorial attitudes of many furry artists."

As well as this, she has earned much derision from her The Pirate Bay inspired legal site, Please Don't Sue, which features some of the many emails received by WTFur, including updated stories of the ongoing conflict between herself, Jeremy Bernal, and several other artists.

Conferences attended/attending
* Eurofurence 8
* AnthroCon 2003, 2004
* Further Confusion 2006, 2007

See also
* Verix's story about Arcturus

External links
Arcturus
* Angry Draken Media
* Please Don't Sue!
* Nicolyrezk Kirwin, Outlaw LiveJournalist Arcturus' LiveJournal
