'''40oz [[Hyena]]''', born August 19th 1984, in Littleton, New Hampshire, is the [[fursona]] of '''Mishka Zakhaev Muramcaev''', the son of Chechen Jewish and Portuguese parents and raised of the Orthodox Jewish faith.

40oz discovered the [[furry fandom]] at the age of thirteen via the Internet and has been a very active member of the furry fandom since then. 40oz Hyena at one point went by the name of '''Kropotka Hyena''' and produced a bit of artwork under this name, although for some time, denied he was Kropotka, and then admitted that he was after numerous people claimed that he was, claiming he had denied it because he had just got kind of burnt out on the [[furry art]] scene.

After a while he took on the namesake 40oz, or Forty Ounce, due to his fondness for 40 ounce bottles of malt liquor. His favorite being King Cobra. His obviously alcohol related name, and the fact that he appears at functions often inebriated, has earned him a bit of a reputation as an alcoholic. 40oz does not deny this allegation at all, and in fact, seems to be quite proud of it. Despite the social and health risks associated with alcoholism.

At age 17, 40oz ran away from home and has been traveling since then. He has lived in many places such as Ohio, Michigan, Missouri and every state on the Eastern seaboard. He is currently residing in Florida. He attends [[convention]]s and furry gatherings regularly and is usually seen wearing either a black suit and tie or a black teeshirt with a smiley face on it. He is best known for a tan and black shemagh that he is nearly always wearing.

Aside from that, he has quite a few tattoos. Although he is best known for having his namesake, ' 40oz ' tattooed on the knuckles of his left hand. Aside from that, he has Banzai, one of the hyenas from the lion king, on his stomach and has hyena spots tattooed down the back of his neck and back, as well as quite a few other tattoos and piercings.

===Controversies===
40oz Hyena is the alleged leader of the group [[LOLFurries]], although he, as well as others, occasionally deny this. There have also been some who claim that 40oz is also a member and/or the leader of an LOLfurries splinter group known as [[The Infurgency]], although 40oz denies these allegations. He has received a large amount of criticism due do his appearance in a mock PSA directed towards [[babyfurs]], with the video getting OVER 9000 views in a few days.

Due to the forum's content and attitude, LOLfurries was sometimes considered an [[Anti-Furries|anti-fur]] site. Members had consistently denied this "anti-fur" stance publicly.

== History ==

The board was founded by [[Furtopia]] emigrants whose posts often caused friction with what they perceive as Furtopia's restrictive forum rules. They left in January of 2006, forming a temporary BBS while pursuing webspace and purchasing a domain name. The website transferred over to a new location in March of 2006.

Many posters to LOLfurries where in good standing at Furtopia, and some Furtopia posters joined LOLfurries. Conflicts with Furtopia where an occasional topic on the board, however.

In June of 2007 Koogs handed control of LOLFurries over to 40oz Hyena (Mik Genocide) and Icono, and proceeded to disappear from the furry scene (to [[Wikipedia:GAFIA|gafiate]].)

In March 2008, the [[Furtopia]] forum site was hacked and went down. Administrator [[WhiteShepherd]] blamed LOLfurries for the attack, claiming that passwords had been posted on LOLfurries' own forum. However, regulars of LOLfurries disclaimed direct responsibility for the hacker's actions. On 2 March the website was replaced by a suspension notice from server administrator [[RabidRick]] criticizing those users and administrators who condoned vandalism. By the end of 3 March, the website was completely removed.

On February 2010, Icono close the site for unknown reasons, while all activity moved to the [[LiveJournal]] community, [[LMAO FURRIES]].

== Tumbles The Stair Dragon ==

LOLFurries is best known for their direct involvement with the Tumbles the Stair Dragon incident at FWA 07. LOLFurries having been the group that ejected him from one of their room parties. They were shortly thereafter credited as the ones who coined the name Tumbles the Stair Dragon. It is also known that a few LOLFurs were present at the smoking area when Tumbles made his leap into stardom. 40oz Hyena and Icono were the main two who were present. 40oz leaned over after the fall and said to Chyra:

== Post Furtopia Attacks ==

On March 12th, it was brought back online, but with Rabid Rick no longer the owner of the domain, but now "Under the control of 'The True LOLFurs' ", with Rabid Rick no longer involved with the site due to the the friction over the February attacks on Furtopia. 40oz Hyena reports that everything is "Quite swell." and "Not to worry, our LULZ Generators are back up to full running capacity."

== Babyfur Public Service Announcements ==

On April 25 LOLFurries.org released two Public Service Announcements that were intended for Babyfurs. The videos mocked Drug, Alcohol and similar PSA's claiming that LOLFurries.org was sending "A message of hope." To Babyfurs and wanted to offer help to 'Heal' them of being Babyfurs. The videos being obvious works of satire meant to Mock Television PSA's.

The Infurgency is a small splinter group from LOLFurries comprised mostly of furries who are also [[Anonymous]]. Getting their name from the former /i/nsurgent board on 420chan, which was a section dedicated to raids and trolling. Their main activity is trolling and raiding of other furries for their own amusement or as they say "For the lulz."

The Admistrators have denied any involvement with The Infurgency although they and the LOLFurries as a website has been accused of "Providing a safe haven." for members of the group. After these allegations were made in the form of an email to 40oz Hyena, one of the Administrators. He responded by saying:

As long as they don't break of the rules on LOLFurries, ( which includes a request not to post hacking or raid threads) I have no reason to ban them. When asked right after if any of the administrators were members of The Infurgency, 40oz Hyena responded in a very short email: "That really is none of your business. lol."
