Furry-Within was a developing adult furry community, featuring forums, a chat system, user galleries, competitions, and a page of links to other furry websites and artists. It was closed for good on October 30, 2009.

History
Furry-Within.com was created in late 2007 by Azhtek Je-Nckos with the original intention of being a simple place for him to "screw around with code," and "see how long it takes for me (Azhtek) to break it." It soon evolved from that stage in a matter of weeks, as users soon began to trickle in, and Furry Within became something more of a community.

After its initial stage as a testing ground, it soon became a place where user input had a quite significant impact upon the direction which the site was to be taken. It was a community where users didn't have to be of furry nature, and could relax in the freedom that some sites restricted.

Sometimes jokingly described as a "dynamic website" by its creator, modifications, changes and updates are made nearly on a daily basis. These range from minor tweaks in the forum's settings to new sections of the website. Below is a list of Furry-Within.com's significant updates.

Furry-Within.com's Timeline of Changes
* Website Created
* x7 Chat added (No longer in use)
* Flash Chat added (No longer in use)
* Gallery added
* Arcade added (No longer in use)
* Oekaki added <s>(No longer in use</s>)
* Movies & TV Links section (No longer in use)
* Radio added <s>(Temporarily inactive)</s>
* Links section added (No longer in use)
* AJAX Chat added
* Oekaki reinstated
* Radio restarted
* Blogging System added
* Profile Mod Added

Furry-Within.com currently runs on Simple Machines Forum software, with most of it's current add-ons being fully integrated into the forum.

The Present
On May 6th 2009, Azhtek, the site's founder, owner and head administrator, announced that he would be stepping down from charge and offered the site's ownership up to anyone who felt up to the challenge of running what had become a fairly bustling and busy place. After the usual panicking and predictions of doom that occur in these situations, Thalassa, Azhtek's co-administrator, stepped forward and announced that she would take the reins.

During the switch, Thalassa recruited two experienced former admins - LadyDarkSphynx (AKA - Aidan or Ikari) and Talija - both of whom were longtime friends and had worked for some time on Yiffy.net prior to its death. The idea was that both Talija and Ikari would act as assistants rather than full-admins, and would share some of the workload and provide experience and advice whilst Thalassa got to grips with becoming head admin and taking on the full running of the site. The two new admin assistants would also only be there temporarily, lasting only until permanent replacements could be found to maintain the triumvirate style of admnistration.

Users
Furry-Within.com currently has over 800 members, more than 65 of whom joined when another furry community, Furgasmic, closed down. As the site is adult in nature, there is a strict "No Minors" rule in place, which the admin and moderators enforce with age checks where deemed necessary.

Competitions
Furry-Within.com began the running of competitions in February of 2008, with the intention of drawing more users to the website and giving people something to do with the effect of potentially winning something for their efforts. Competitions so far have mostly been based around users submitting creative works revolving around a particular topic, or simple games.

So far, users have had the chance to win $80 worth of artist's commissions, a Zeta Creations toy, and a 4GB MP4 player. All prizes are paid for by Azhtek out of his own pocket.

Due to a lack of interest/participation, competitions have since ceased.

Morphicon is run by Morphicon Corporation, a non-profit organization founded 12 February 2004 by A. Wolf (Trickster), E. Dyer (Pelzig), and M. Pinnegar (Jewel). M. Woods (Ostrich) was also a founder of the initial corporation, though he does not appear on the original signing document. A. Wolf resigned from the Board in January 2008 due to personal time commitments. C. Smith (Max Goof) formally resigned from the board, and as convention chair, in 2008.

The Morphicon Board of Directors currently includes the three remaining founders, plus one member added in 2005: G. Angel (WhiteShepherd).

Morphicon has planned since inception to apply for federal 501(c)(3) charity status, but has not yet submitted.

Thalyn Chatnoir

2009-11-25T20:05:16Z

75.180.20.49: /* External links */

cleanup
Thalyn Chatnoir (born August 28th, 1978) is a furry who currently resides in Pennsylvania. The self-styled "Resident GothKat of the Furryverse", Thalyn began his life as a fur in the mind of one Mark Moore on January 20, 1997. He began on Furcadia due to a random series of events, beginning with asking a friend on AOL what she was doing one night, out of boredom, and downloading Furcadia.

Through there, he found out about the old YiffNet IRC network, and later FurryMUCK and Tapestries MUCK. Since then, he has dedicated himself to helping others find the fandom, and discover all it has to offer. Currently, he spends his time helping others on Tapestries as part of its helpstaff, as well as a former staff member of Morphicon, in Columbus, Ohio, and Rocket City Furmeet, in Huntsville, Alabama.

A GothKat is a specific breed of furry feline, created in 2003 by Thalyn Chatnoir as a more adult and mature form of GothiKitty, his former species name. It is representative of a white feline, in his case a leucistic Snow Leopard, with blue eyes and no natural markings aside from a black steak under each eye. GothKats have a tendency toward the goth subculture.

So far, Thalyn Chatnoir is the only known GothKat, and is therefore, his own stereotype.

Siege a Ferios

75.180.20.49: /* External links */

cleanup
Siege á Ferios (previously known as Siege Voxus, typically known as just Siege) has been a member of furrydom since 1994. He describes finding 'the fandom' as having been a "homecoming experience", seeing as he'd been making up various furry characters and playable role-playing game monsters throughout much of his life to that point.

Siege's phenotype has changed often, but when in character he's primarily canid, draconic, or musculine, with an occasional shift to other species. Out of character, he considers himself to have had an "Otherkin experience" some years ago.

Siege lived in or close to Ohio from 1995 to 2008; at the end of January 2008, he moved to central Indiana. He can be found as Siege on FurryMUCK and LiveJournal. He has also been a member of the Furry Writers of Ohio, though his current location precludes attendance at their meetings.

Notable facts
* Siege has been a helpstaffer on FurryMUCK since the late '90s.
* He moderates the LiveJournal community ohiofurs, which functions parallel to the OhioFur Mailing List.
* He served on Morphicon's staff in 2005 as Director of Gaming.
* He authors the story Cioe B, hosted on LiveJournal, which is currently on permanent hiatus.
* In February 2006, Siege was added to the list of WikiFur's administrators.
* In May 2008, he finally began work on a website for his podcasting ambitions, which came to fruition in June.

Cioe B details
Cioe B is a story in progress, hosted on LiveJournal and written by Siege a Ferios. It features the history of several groups of genetically altered animals (called savant animals), and one young coyote in particular.

Its last update was Dec 31, 2005, and the story may be considered on permanent hiatus as of 2008.

Because the story has not advanced very far, spoilers don't exist for it. This is subject to change as plot and backstory develops. Note that older entries in the journal are subject to occasional revision, mostly for word choice or consistency issues.

Characters and organizations
Cioe B Canis Latrans: The main character. Her name is pronounced "ch(y)o'ee" (using the ci from ciao and the oe from Zoe). She is a Beta savant, one of the second-generation savant animal types. She works mostly as a secretarial type.

Azume Biotech: (Pronounced "AH-zoo-may".) This company is the original source of savant animals. It has shady backers who have been unclear as to the actual goals of project "Alpha Savant". None of its personnel or directors has yet appeared as part of the main story, though a commentary was begun in one of the posts.

Zero Alpha: This is the first progenitor of the Alpha savants. He originates primarily from Golden retrievers. Due to his swift mental development and capacity for interbreeding with the various subjects, he escapes euthanization for many years.

Siege's Snippets details
Siege's Snippets is a podcast, produced and hosted by Siege, intended to be a source of ponderings and philosophy, as well as a showcase of others' written works (as read by Siege). As noted on its website, Siege also offers advertising and his voice talents for compensation.

The podcast's inaugural show in June 2008 covered what one might expect from the show; due to the lack of updates as of February 2009, renewed production may bring changes in format or guidelines.

Max Goof

2009-11-25T20:04:23Z

75.180.20.49: /* Stand-up Comedy */

Max Goof, mundanely known as Craig E. Smith, is an electronics dealer and part-time tax preparer who resides in Dublin, Ohio. He constructs fursuits, performs as a puppeteer, and has recently made his debut at Morphicon as a stand-up comic. Max has also operated under the name Stargazer. He has recently stepped down as chairman of Morphicon.

Puppeteering
Of all his puppet characters, Max is best known for Ozark, a gruff-talking redneck sheepdog with a straw hat inseperably glued or sewn onto his head. Some rumors say that the hat is there to hide male-pattern baldness, extremely rare among sheepdogs. Ozark often performs with Hayseed, (performed by Cirrus Kitfox), an equally unsophisticated raccoon who sports a John Deere ball cap.

Fursuiting
Max has constructed, in whole or in part, the following fursuits:
*Stargazer, his first costume, a blue-furred bear with hiking boots, a fishing vest, and a strong love of astronomy.
*Angel Bear, all parts of this costume except the head, halo, and wings.
*Kevin J. Dog, made in the likeness of the well-known character of the recently concluded webcomic Newshounds.

Stand-up Comedy
The 2007 edition of Morphicon saw a reprise of Max's performance as a stand-up comic. His material for this year was about call center technical support as practiced by angels, and Dr. Foster, a therapist who works with nursery rhyme characters.
