75.131.173.3: /* Creation */

CarolinaFurs is a group for furs from the Carolinas and surrounding states.

Creation
The CarolinaFurs were started as the CarolinaFurs Yahoo Group. It was founded Feb 25, 2000. The group is currently moderated and membership requires approval. CarolinaFurs was branched out onto LiveJournal in the community NC Furs in March of 2004. At the time of this writing the community has roughly 100 members. In February of 2007 a CarolinaFurs Google Group was created due to several members having issues with Yahoo. There is also a now mostly-defunct website located at CarolinaFurs.org.

The largest contingent of members appear to be centered in the Raleigh area of North Carolina, with a second focus in Western NC. However, there are members from areas throughout both North and South Carolina, as well as other states.

External Links
*CarolinaFurs.org
*NC Furs on LiveJournal
*CarolinaFurs Google Group
*CarolinaFurs Yahoo Group

]
