Rattuskid, also known as AngryPuritan, Dunlop, RattusAureus, or simply Rattus, lives in Delaware, U.S.A. and has been active in the furry fandom since around the beginning of 2004. On the side, he's done volunteer work for the Red Cross and at an animal shelter. He is unmarried and has no children.

Furry works
Rattus, as a hobby, has drawn a few images for friends, but his abilities as a visual artist are a bit limited and underused. He also fancies himself somewhat of a writer, although examples available online are few and far between (and usually very old).

This hobby has gotten him into a bit of trouble, after a commission for a story from Alvero resulted in a fair amount of drama. It's safe to assume that Rattuskid consumes more in terms of furry art and literature than he produces.

Conventions
Rattus has attended a few conventions, averaging about one a year. To date, he's attended:
*Anthrocon 2004
*Anthrocon 2005
*Further Confusion 2006
*Anthrocon 2007
*Anthrocon 2008

Crush Yiff Destroy
In 2005, Rattus joined the Crush Yiff Destroy forums. He did not let on who he was in the fandom (although it didn't matter either) or that he was even furry at all. So instead, in an effort to pick a name which would be the greatest affront to a casual reader of furry persuasion, he chose 'AngryPuritan', which narrowly won out over 'RepublicanJesus'.

Eventually, his true identify came to be known, and it all became a moot point anyway. He came to be relatively well received, and became a moderator of one of the sub-forums, then a forum wide moderator. These were lost after Mitch acquired an IRC chat log where Rattus openly contemplated deleting all threads on the site to make a statement about quality of the forum, the banning of Kindrift, and a censoring of certain topics (which was believed to be a part of appeasement or long-term manipulation of other furries). fact

LiveJournal groups
Rattuskid is a member of several furry communities on LiveJournal. These include the New Jersey Furs, Soviet Furs, and the Crush Yiff Destroy LiveJournal groups.

Rush Limbaugh (full name Rush Hudson Limbaugh III; born January 12th, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri) is a conservative American radio talk show host and political commentator who discusses politics and current events on his radio program, The Rush Limbaugh Show.

Rush Limbaugh and furry
Rush Limbaugh made furries the topic of one of his recorded weekend updates. In context, prior to President Bush's inauguration in 2005, the New York Times and the broadcast media repeatedly criticized the Republican party for planning an opulent event to commemorate the Presidents' win.

The criticism stemmed from the fact that the US was at war with Iraq, and from assertions that any festivities were inappropriate on the heels of the tsunami that had hit Indonesia. Rush responded by describing a furry convention and then quoting a talk show host's criticism of the inauguration in the new context.

Rush's Weekend Update (transcribed)
Guess what folks... This weekend, 1,700 people - all of them animal lovers - are expected to gather at the furry convention in San Jose, California. The furries, for those of you who don't know - and I sincerely hope that that's most of you - are, er, people who love animals so much that they take on their identities and sometimes dress up like their animals.

You heard me right, folks. These humans take on the identities of the animals they love and sometimes dress up like them. It allows adults - grown-up human beings - and this is a quote, "a place to act out their interspecies fantasies." (1,700 of these people in one place...)

Lee Strom is one of the furry convention's founding fathers. He says just because it's weird, it's still perfectly normal to the people involved in it. He's 36, he wants to be a raccoon! The convention... (laughter) convention will have workshops for the furries: puppetry, costume making, writing about mythical creatures, and here's one I think ought to be videotaped: a workshop on furry anatomy. (Can you find it? Can you find it?)

Apparently some furries aren't waiting until the convention starts this weekend to act out their inter-species fantasies. A reporter caught up with Katie Matthew, 20, prancing through the lobby of a hotel dressed as a fox... she was prancing with other adults dressed as goats, tigers, other creatures. Katie likes the fun of dressing up and escaping into her made up animal character, which she calls "Shadow".

Alright folks, I only have one question. We've got a war going on and the tragedy of the tsunami. Isn't this furry convention a little bit too festive and too costly?

There's a real furball for you liberals, eh? Ha ha, "Shut 'em down! Shut 'em down, it's perverted!"

Response to the aired segment
Furry fan Xydexx made an interesting point about the broadcast:
