Images that are removed are also blacklisted to prevent posting.

Uploading of photographic child pornography or bestiality media are not permitted, and uploading of images from paysites is discouraged, with the exception of a few images (usually for publicity purposes). Additionally, any post can be deleted without notice if they failed to meet a standard of quality as determined by the moderators (poorly drawn or badly compressed art).

Site status
The site was closed down on September 17th, 2007, citing on its front-page that claims had been made against the site for hosting child pornographyfact and only the Oekaki board and the IRC channel remained active. e621 became active again on November 26th, 2007, under the banner e621 2.0. It was forced offline for a few days over Christmas 2007 during the same DDoS attack that struck Fur Affinity and Fchan.

References
<references />

Image boards

71.230.37.173: updated information

Unreferenced
Arcturus Kirwin (also known as Fiscal and Nicolyrezk) primarily plays a skunk. She is the system administrator and lead developer for e621. She currently splits her time between Pennsylvania, United States and an Undisclosed Location.

Real Life
In the land outside of the vast, bizarre Internet, Arcturus is a rather diminutive person of mostly Irish descent. She spends her days working on new and exciting projects for Angry Draken Media as well as a number of projects such as e621 in her free time. Whilst many online find her to be a rather exuberant and outspoken person, in real life she is quite introverted and shy.

Technical responsibilities
Arcturus helps host a number of websites for individuals, groups and small organizations, both furry and not. In the past she has helped to stream FBC content and, after having helped to rebroadcast and archive 2 Sense, does occasionally broadcast shows herself. She was the founder of ArtPlz after the breakup of Fur Affinity, at which time she withdrew her hosting following a managerial disagreement with Fur Affinity's founder and administrator Jheryn Lightfoot.

ArtPlz itself also saw some drama after he developed ChanPlz, an Fchan clone for posting furry art. Several volunteers withdrew their support for ArtPlz, such as Arshes Nei stating ethical reasons for doing so. ChanPlz was taken down a few days later by Arcturus and others involved in its creation.

Arcturus was an administrator for and systems administrator of WTFur, a mature furry image board much like Fchan, but these days runs, owns and maintains the furry community e621.

Fact and Fiction
Arcturus is becoming synonymous with Sibe thanks to her work in pointing out and exploiting security vulnerabilities in Fur Affinity. Her work on WTFur, also, facilitated posting copyrighted furry art under the auspices of "fair use" due to the, in her words, "eponymous dictatorial attitudes of many furry artists."

Conferences attended/attending
* Eurofurence 8
* AnthroCon 2003, 2004
* Further Confusion 2006

See also
* Verix's story about Arcturus

External links
Arcturus
* Angry Draken Media
* BasementCoder[dotCom]
* Nicolyrezk Kirwin, Outlaw LiveJournalist Arcturus' LiveJournal

Supporter
