== How to nominate a comic ==

Please nominate up to three comics below (preface with *). Comics must have an existing article - if you want to feature a comic without an article, write the article first, then nominate it. Note that both general audience and [[:Category:Mature comics|mature]] nominations are welcome.

Others may support a nomination with indented comments (preface with :, and sign your name with <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>. Support is not the only (or even primary factor) for featuring - the justification given for featuring in the nomination will weigh heavily, as will availability of a high quality panel or title image representing the comic in the article, and of course the article itself.

'''Cobalt''' is the alter-ego of [[furry artist]] [[Chris Sutor]]. He is a four-foot, grey furred [[Teddy bear|teddy bear]] whose trademark is a silver hoop "tiara" with a five-pointed star on the front. He habitually wears blue-colored clothing.

Cobalt's Species is given as '''Delos''', as this is the name of his race, but to all intents and purposes he is a teddy bear.

==Character history==

Much of Cobalt's history is shrouded in secrecy. The most that is known, is that Cobalt is supposed to be "The Last of the Delos" - a title which has turned out to be in question since the appearance of his evil twin '''Talboc'''.

Much more isn't known, and Cobalt either doesn't know what happened, or simply isn't talking.

[[Image:Cobalt-SL.jpg|right|thumb|200px|Cobalt on Second Life]]
Cobalt was originally created as an alter-ego for Chris Sutor, on [[FurryMUCK]]. More recently, Cobalt has popped up on [[Second Life]].

On Second Life, he goes by the name of '''Cobalt Neutra''', as Second Life requires you to select a last name from a list of choices, and does not allow single-name characters. Neutra was the name chosen from the list as it was also the name of a character in the mythos of 80's pop band DEVO.

Cobalt almost became '''Cobalt McCoy''', in reference to [[Doctor Who]] #7, [[Wikipedia:Sylvester_McCoy|Sylvester McCoy]], but Chris Sutor's first attempt to sign up to Second Life was unsuccessful, and upon his second attempt, the list of provided names had changed.

The Neutra surname is unofficial, and outside of Second Life, the character is known only as Cobalt.

On Second Life, Cobalt's activities include:

* Acting as an admin and estate manager, for the Furnation Sims
* Maintaining/Operating the Furnation municipal nude beach
* Maintaining/Operating Club Fur
* Maintaining/Operating The Radio Theatre
* Creating and selling vintage-style hod rods, at his garage, Cobalt Motors.

Cobalt appears in the [[Cobalt (comic book)|COBALT]] comic book series, published by [[FurNation|Furnation Multimedia]]. He also appears on CD-ROM artwork sets, which feature the artwork of Chris Sutor:

* COBALT - Live from a basement, near you
* COBALT - The Wild Blue Yonder
* COBALT - Club Fur

Although originally conceived as a 2-D cartoon, Cobalt has been translated into 3D through the wonder of computer modeling.

The 3D Cobalt has appeared in a number of images, a few short animations, and is currently being used as pose/anatomy/perspective reference, for drawing the 2D version.

Cobalt has used his 3-D skills to update his avatar to more closely resemble the 3-D rendering using mesh.

Cobalt also appears as a secondary character in the webcomic [[Evil twin]].

Evil Twin

2015-05-19T18:02:33Z

71.185.55.248: added comics category

Evil Twin is a four-panel webcomic starring Talboc, the evil twin of [[Cobalt (Delos)|Cobalt]].

The art and format for the comic follow the style of a traditional newspaper comic strip, with black and white art, zip-tone dot tint, and crosshatching. In line with this, the content attempts to remain at a PG rating level.

The storyline revolves around day-in-the-life adventures of Talboc, as he deals with the hassles of being a self-proclaimed supervillain who has to operate with little to no budget, including evil schemes which don't work out quite right, diabolical inventions which end up being more trouble than they're worth, and constant trouble with various government agencies, including Health & Safety.

==Characters==

*Talboc, the evil twin of [[Cobalt (Delos)|Cobalt]]
*Pleasure The Foozle, Talboc's loyal minion
*[[Cobalt (Delos)|Cobalt]], who is described by Talboc as his "Goody-Goody Nemesis"
*Twinkle The Foozle, [[Cobalt (Delos)|Cobalt]]'s sidekick

==History==

After [[Chris Sutor]] ended [[Cobalt (comic book)]], he decided he wanted to try and do something different with the characters.

For many years before the creation of the character [[Cobalt (Delos)|Cobalt]], Chris had been drawing a series of four-panel comic strips for a student magazine known as The Eye, under the title of STUFF. And as the four-panel format was something he was both familiar with and comfortable working in, he decided to use it as the basis for this new project.

Evil Twin developed slowly; a series of three prototype strips were created. These three are notable in that they lack the zip-tone dot tint, and use a freebie comic lettering font which is different from the one used in the series proper.

After these three strips were posted to Fur Affinity and Inkbunny, where they met with public acceptance, development continued further with dot-tone sized off of real-world newspaper comics, and the discovery of an original Bloom County comic, which showed that a stock, pre-printed blue-line layout grid had been used for the lettering.

With the addition of a unique hand-made lettering font based on the lettering styles in Bloom County and Doonesbury, the Comic was ready to begin.

At a suggestion from [[Albert Temple]], Evil Twin was set up on Comic Genesis, and introductory comics were created to explain to newcomers who the characters were.

==Hiatus==

After doing the comic for half a year, [[Chris Sutor]]'s financial situation had degraded to a point where he was forced to put all non-paying projects on hold, to concentrate on work which would pay the bills. A placeholder comic in Evil Twin's Comic Genesis archive notes that "Everything goes completely silent for a year and a half" with the dates January 26, 2013 and July 17, 2014 marking the beginning and end of the hiatus.

The comic began again, after a Patreon account had been set up to turn the project into a paying one. Additionally, when the comic returned it returned with a sequence where Talboc and Pleasure The Foozle ran a PBS-style pledge drive to drum up some Patreon support, and then were forced to renovate the abandoned comic before they could start "filming new episodes."

Cobalt (comic book)

2015-05-19T16:53:12Z

71.185.55.248: Added info about length of comic run, removed dead link to VCL

[[Image:Cobalt_iss1.jpg|right|thumb|150px|Cover art for issue one of Cobalt, the comic book.]]

'''COBALT''' was a comic book series published by Furnation Multimedia, featuring [[Chris Sutor]]'s furry alter-ego, [[Cobalt (Delos)|Cobalt]].

While primarily an adults-only erotic title, the writing is comedic, and the overall effect is more humorous than anything.

The artwork inside is a mixture of 2D and line-rendered 3D, and although the artwork for the books was produced in full color, the first three issues were originally printed in greyscale. Beginning with issue four, the book switched to full color.

Six Issues total were created, with the sixth being dedicated specifically to Cobalt's evil Twin Talboc, and consequently numbered as Issue 666.

==Characters==

The characters which have appeared so far include:

*[[Cobalt (Delos)|Cobalt]]
*Twinkle the Foozle
*Talboc, Cobalt's Evil Twin
*Pleasure Foozle, Twinkle's not-quite-evil not-quite-twin.
*Cinamon Bun, a cross-dressing rabbit television salesman
*Licorice, a cross-dressing wolf television repairman

==History==
[[Image:Cobalt_iss2.jpg|right|thumb|150px|Cover art for issue two of Cobalt, the comic book.]]

The Cobalt comic is somewhat of a spin-off, from a series of 2-page comics known as the Evil Twin Strips, wherein Cobalt meets, and seduces his evil twin, rather than get into a fist-swinging battle with him. The first of these introduced Talboc, and the second was written as a "sequel" parody.

A third installment was requested by the publishers of Furnation Magazine, but Real-Life interruptions kept this third comic from being completed, and only a single page of it was ever done.

When Furnation approached Chris Sutor about possibly doing a comic book for them, The script for this "lost" third episode was resurrected, and expanded into the 40-page tale of erotic vengeance, which fills the first two issues.

The four Evil Twin pages which started the whole thing, appear as flashback sequences in Issue Two.
