'''Kobura Shinja Cape''' (aka Kobu) is one of the moderators at [[Furgasmic.com]].

He was introduced to the [[furry fandom]] approximately three years ago, when an idea and a search for a picture led him to an entirely new concept for him: [[furry]].

The [[fursona]] of Kobura was an idea that came from a dream and later took on a life of his own. A [[Wikipedia:Cobra|cobra]]-[[Wikipedia:Naga|naga]] of sorts, he refers to himself as a 'scaleblood' or a 'coldkin'. He is entirely black, with his body entirely scaly from snout to tail-tip.

==Forum Activity and Tenure at Furgasmic==

He initially joined an unnamed website in late 2006, several years after Kobura's creation, but was asked to leave due to his still being underage. Upon the day he turned eighteen, he returned to the same site and saw that it was not as good as what he remembered. A respected friend, [[Vulpes Proeliator]], guided him to Furgasmic. They later were both appointed forum moderators. In addition to the forum, he moderates the [[FurNet (IRC)|Furnet IRC]] chat, both furgasmic and furgasmicyiff. He has since branched out on IRC, to regularly occupy channels as Fur Affinity as well. Recently his presence has been identified on [[Anthrochat]].

www.furgasmic.com has since closed down due to the site's owner's personal decision. Kobura is looking to join into another community, or create one himself.

==Conference Activities==

Kobura's first 'con' was that of [[FA: United]] 2007 in Newark, New Jersey. He had an incredibly good first con, as self-described, and volunteered what turned from "probably not enough to be recorded" to over 24 hours as he kept agreeing to more and more movements and assignments, his final hour of service being the Closing Ceremonies. Kobura is looking forward to attending 2008's FA:United, and with his admission paid for by volunteering, looks to become an actual staff member for the upcoming event.

Kobura also made his way to [[FurFright]] 07 as well, where he met one of his favorite artists [[Dark Natasha]] and successfully commissioned a pencil-artwork from her. He was unable to volunteer at the con, as his attendance was a surprise to him, and his opinion of FurFright was a bit deflated. "I'm happy when I'm working... FA:U kept me busy doing things I wanted to be doing anyway, it was a great experience... I'd like to work (security) at every con I can."

Kobura was recently informed of some changes that allowed him to proceed to [[Megaplex]] 2008 in Jacksonville, Florida, and is 'looking forward to the con itself, hopefully volunteering at it, and seeing the 'Sunshine State' of Florida as well as some of the people there.'

==Real Life data==

Kobura currently living in Spring, Texas. He has become an organizer of scattered furs and fur-friendly individuals, noting a lack of camaraderie and many mutually -percieved squabbles between the members, most of which were illusionary and have since been resolved.[[image:Photo_Kobura_8-8-07.jpg|thumb|250px|Kobura Self-photo]]

Kobura's parents are separated. His father is a New Jersey Department of Corrections officer, and his mother works for a local university, in a senior position of the Arts and Theater department. His brother is severely mentally handicapped and has been won by his father in a somewhat groundbreaking court case, in which a handicapped individual was granted emancipation as to choosing caretaker.

Kobura battled with Ulcerative Colitis from his 9th-grade year until January of 2007, for a short time being the worst documented pediatric case of the disease in the Lehigh Valley. Diagnosed around age 15, he fought the illness until November of 2006, at which time he had his entire large intestine removed in a pair of surgeries. In January of 2007, he underwent an emergency surgery for a rupture of the sutures from the previous operations, which went cery successfully. However as time has gone on, complications have arisen from the disorders and their effects. Permanent dehydration is a constant companion, as is a difficulty in maintaining proper nutritional balance. Recent months have yielded constant minor sicknesses and maladies, not so much a series of diseases, as continual general unhealthiness. Kobura is very active and open about his experience and prides himself on helping others with chronic illnesses, particularly intestinal disorders. His surgeon was Dr. Terry Reilly of Bethlehem St. Luke's hospital. He happily talks about his experience, offers advice or support to others undergoing similar circumstances, and is extremely disease-awareness-oriented.

Kobura will be soon moving to Houston, Texas, and still very visit/meeting-friendly and outsider-oriented, looking to meet friendly furs in his new area.
