70.4.220.145:

Shot King (b. February 13, 1986) is a gay blue dragon living in Laredo, Texas, U.S.A. While hes not known in any particalar area in the furry fandom and virtually unknown, he is slowly making a presence by offering advice and comments to any furry or friend in need

Mini Biography
Shot King, real name Blake, was born in Galveston, Texas, the middle of 3 children. His father worked for the gas company Conco Phillips as a maintenance supervisor while his mother was a housewife. His fathers company relocates him around contestly across the site so Shot King didnt live in no location in Texas for no more then 2 or 3 years at a time until recently. He claims to have lived in Houston, Nacogdoches, San Antonio, Midland, and El Paso. Because of this, he has a fairly extensive knowledge about the culture and geography of Texas, something he takes pride in.

Thoughout much of his life, Shot King grew up without parental guidance. This is due to that his mother died while he was growing up while his father worked a lot to support his childeren. While he had small acquaintances with others, he also wasnt liked a lot by his siblings or the kids at the various schools he went to. Combined with Asperger Syndrome that he was diagnosed with, he has difficulty making decisions, forming friendships with others, and coming up with new ideas, and mutli-tasking which ulitimaly caused him to be really shy and reserved. Although he has improved over the years as he learns to combat these, he still acts in this manner today to some extent

Inspiration
Shot Kings association and amusement with furs came from many sources. He was fascinated with Anthromhopic animals from many cartoons he spend watching throughout his childhood, ranging from classics such as Bugs Bunny, to cartoons new at his time such as Rockos Moderen life. Part of this also came from his brother's hobby in fantasy where he learned of not just dragons but other reptilian creatures where he found them to be mystifying creatures. This took him up to read on a few series such as the Dragonlance books. Hes also a fan of the Koopa race and especially Bowser from the Super Mario Bros series. Later, when Pokemon hit the scene, He became further interested after seeing Chiazard and Dragonite which he states are his favorite pokemon.

Discovery
in 2003, not long after his family acquired the internet, Shot King joined the community of Lemmys Land, a site completely dedicated to Lemmy Koopa one of Bowsers children. He choose this site as its one of the few active sites deviated to Koopas which hes a big fan of. He did not submit much content, usually prefer hanging out in the forums chatting with fellow fans. In mid 2005, he quit the site and his mod board position after a dispute with a popular member and the main moderator on the boards, and he complained the site was being overun by underage members.

In order to keep up with not only with the community and other fans outside of the site, but with Nintendo fans as well, he joined Deviantart. While there though, he slowly discovered other artists that had a obsession with anthromopihic animals, something he had too but thought was non-existent. Some of these helped him open himself out and speak out. He also discovered certain fetishes such as fatness and vore which he still enjoys. While he still keeps in contact with his Nintendo fan friends, most of his account is devoted to the "other stuff". He joined Furaffinty not too long ago to keep with other members that has since left Deivnatart. even now he considers himself more of an admirer of the furry fandom than an active member, citing that he doesn't have the "creative touch".

Shot King, the dragon
Shot King created his Dragon character named after nick name, a blue dragon with a gold ring on his tail, after seeing many other members having at least one character. He mainly uses it for RP purposes but plans to develop him more although he has difficulty doing so.

Hobbies, personality, and misc information
Shot King enjoys movies, mainly of action, thriller adventure types and occasionally those of the sci fi and horror genres such as Indiana Jones, Die Hard, Back To The Future, and the James Bond series, and has a extensive DVD collection. He also likes to study nature, geography, and weather patterns. He also reads up on history and knows a good deal about life in the middle ages and plans to read up on other time periods. Shot King also enjoys video games, mainly from the older period as he feels newer games doesn't have addiction and special touch that older games once did. Although not a not huge fan, he enjoys some anime. He does draw from time to time, but mainly requests and commissions others for something he wants.

Although he may not appear to be the type, Shot King does suffer from consent depression and mood swings. He usually hides this as he does not want to appear to be emo. Shot King is described of being "kind, caring, and going out of the way for others, but slow and indecisive at times." His shyness keeps him from seeking companionship which he longs over.

Shot King considers himself gay although has been to known to act at least bi from time to time. He has an off and on love relationship with Joe Wolf, but while attending Anthrocon 2008, Joe Wolf dumped him in favoring over someone else, and ShotKing declared he would never be mate with him again after 3 attempts to be with him. He is currently seeking someone.

Today
Shot King currently lives with his father and is seeking to move out one day. He also plans to re attend college after he dropped out for over a year. He was recently seen at Anthrocon 2008, his first convention. Despite he had a highly positive reaction to it at first, it turned to mixed feelings as the con goes further.

The Sonic God

The Sonic God is the alias of Justin P. Reese, the CEO and President of The Ultimate Gamers Community and messageboard administrator for more than 10 furry-based communities. The name itself dates all the way back to 1991, when a hacking incident with a Sega Genesis and a Game Genie resulted in a shocked response of his sister, "You must be a Sonic God to pull that off!" This resulted in the naming of his furry persona. The Sonic God was one of the few divine characters conceptualized for the Sonic the Hedgehog universe, along with others such as The Sonic Entity.

In 1994, Justin would soon find himself fascinated with one of Disney's animated films, The Lion King. He has been a fan ever since.

In July of 2000, Justin created "The Ultimate Gamers Community." With a love for video games and technology came the idea for this company. In 2001, he created a Lion King-based community, which is now part of The Unofficial Lion King Archives.

As Justin's character evolved, concept art created by Dave Rivet would be the first art to ever show a physical character for this Sonic the Hedgehog world entity. Later, other concept art was created. Justin's love for The Lion King, however, would soon be a huge influence in the design of his character. The first artist to create the new lion version of The Sonic God is SpiritWolf77. Other artists would create The Sonic God's lion character over time, such as KWIK, TaniDaReal, MightyQuirky, and ProtvScar.

Biography
The Sonic God plays the role of a deity character for the furry universe, guiding and helping those who seek him. Despite having unlimited chaotic power, he uses it for the forces of good.

The Sonic God is a moderator and/or administrator for The Lion King: United Nations, The Furry Forum, and UGC.

Over the years, Justin would still find himself very fond of big cats, a huge part of his furry persona. In 1994, he soon realized the potential for his character, creating a secondary surname, "The Divine Entity," which would be an alternative name to The Sonic God, and the character would then thereafter be defined in leonine form.

Justin's lion character, Shisazen Mukanu, conceptualized from a story that he wrote, Leaders of the Pride, will soon become his first-ever fursuit, commissioned by MixedCandy. It is scheduled to be shown for the first time sometime in 2009.

Justin's timber wolf character, Xavakin, conceptualized from a Dungeons and Dragons game, will become his second fursuit, commissioned by Akorn Studios. It is scheduled to be debuted in July of 2008.

Trivia
Justin can also speak a little bit of many languages, mostly German as a secondary language, but has also sampled other European languages including French, Spanish, Finnish, Danish, Dutch, and Portuguese. He has also learned a bit of Swahili, Bhantu, and Zulu from his fascination of The Lion King.

Justin has also traveled to many cities around North America, including Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and Minneapolis, and he flew with his father to Puerto Vallarta for a wedding.

The Sonic God, though a veteran in the furry world since 1981, has attended two furry conventions, one in June of 2006, and the second in July of 2007. The Sonic God was seen at both Anthrocon 2006 and Anthrocon 2007, taking part as a Super Sponsor (with the name badge Justin P. Reese). He volunteered 30 hours in 2006, and was a member of staff for Anthrocon registration in 2007. Since June 25th, 2008, Justin is an Assistant Director of Registration at Anthrocon.

The Sonic God's human player, Justin, works as a full-time sales employee for Micro Center, a computer store in Minnesota, an Apple-Certified Macintosh computer salesperson. Justin is also A+ Certified, and has a degree in information and networking technology.

Justin is also the creator of another lion character, Shisazen Mukanu, based in a story that he wrote, Leaders of the Pride.

Back in 1998, Justin had teamed up with SonicBlu to help maintain a Sonic the Hedgehog-based message board community called The Sonic Oasis. Years later, Justin would finally meet SonicBlu face-to-face at Anthrocon 2006.

70.4.220.145: /* Anthrocon 2008 */ Another edit by User:Markus

The WikiFur Meetup is a great way to get to know your fellow contributors, introduce friends to the project, discuss the future of the project, and just hang out and chat about all things furry. Light refreshments are usually available. Attendance varies, but is typically around 30 over the course of an evening.

::I should probably note that helping with costs or refreshments is not a requirement (or even an expectation) for those coming along to the meetup. If there is not enough food, we will try to arrange for more. If there are any unsettled costs at the end of it then we can divide them up among those who are around and can help. We're not charging $5/head and making you bring your own bottle of 7UP. :-) --GreenReaper(talk) 06:42, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

Discussion
Anything people would like to see or do at our first Meetup? Do we need to have something a little earlier as well, or are these times fine? Any other comments? --GreenReaper(talk) 12:03, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

:I'll be bringing my camera with me (as I do to all cons). In addition to getting some pictures during the party, I'd love to get a group shot of all of us who are there are some point. --Giza 18:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

:I work for Stardock, who are a very nice company. I may be able to obtain some samples of our merchandise to be raffled off to attendees (probably not a raffle you'd have to pay to enter - I'm not sure that would even be legal). I'll add more info about this when I actually know if and what I will be able to give away. --GreenReaper(talk) 07:19, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

::Looks like they're being generous! I will have over $150 of software to give away - one box of Keepsafe, two boxes of Multiplicity (one Pro), two copies of Galactic Civilizations II (one Collector's Edition) and three GalCiv II Drengin t-shirts (XL). One of the shirts and boxes of GalCiv and/or Multiplicity may be going to the Charity Auction. --GreenReaper(talk) 17:33, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Hey Green. I went looking for you and couldn't find you. Dmuth/Giza told me that your fliers arrived just a short time ago. They are down by the Con's message board near the registration lines. They came out rather nicely. :) ----Markus(talk) 01:05, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

Summary
Around 20-30 people attended over the course of the evening, including some regular and not-so-regular contributors. We talked about vairous things (sometimes even WikiFur! :-), watched Family Guy and generally had a good night. One highlight was the KDKA-TV report on the con, which amazingly enough did not suck.

Anthrocon 2008

2008-06-26T15:35:36Z

70.4.220.145: Anthrocon is now live. Current Event tag added by User:Markus via Internet Room

Current

Anthrocon
Anthrocon 2008 will be the 12th annual Anthrocon furry convention. It will be held on the weekend of June 26th to 29th, 2008, at the Westin Hotel and David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The event's theme is "It's a Jungle Out There!".

Convention director Uncle Kage announced at the closing ceremony for Anthrocon 2007 that Floyd Norman, one of The Walt Disney Company's first African-American animators and a major contributor to such movies as Sleeping Beauty, 101 Dalmatians, The Jungle Book and Robin Hood, would be the first "Guest of O.K." (He reasoned that Norman was a very modest man, and was uncomfortable at the prospect of being a "guest of honor".) Considering Anthrocon has had multiple GOH's for the past several years, more announcements are possible in the future.

Also announced at Anthrocon 2007's closing ceremony, Camstone Fox had planned to get in contact with Guinness World Records to report a world record for "Most Mascots in a parade". He was attempting to establish the number of fursuits in 2007's Fursuit Parade, 353, as the world record, but he shelved those plans because the board of directors didn't approve after Further Confusion 2008 broke that record.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will again be in town during the convention, like last year. They will be locked in interleague action, facing the New York Yankees June 24-26, and the Tampa Bay Rays June 27-29.

Product debuts at Anthrocon 2008 include the print version of Dog's Days of Summer, Heat #5, and animation DVD Wild for Passion.
