SheezyArt, started on November 30, 2003, by Channel Cat, is an online art archive devoted to all types of art, including traditional, digital, photography, writing, pixel art, and Macromedia Flash. No genre of art are excluded, though works containing explicitly sexual subject matter are forbidden.

SheezyArt's visual template is based on the one used at deviantART, allowing user commentary on artwork, journals, and user pages. SheezyArt also has a set of forums in which the community can gather.

Since the summer of 2005, SheezyArt has been down for most of the time because of server problems. This has resulted in the site being $700 short on its server bills, which are usually paid by ad revenue; however, site members' donations have helped to pay the bill. In April 2006 Channel Cat announced that he would be passing the site on to Spencer with technical assistance from Thor.

From deviantART to SheezyArt
In its original incarnation, SheezyArt permitted all content, including pornographic imagery. This made it a popular archive for artists who create "adult" works, particularly those in the furry and yaoi fandoms. Because deviantART forbids pornography, many artists who liked deviantART's system but scorned its content restrictions migrated to SheezyArt.

Some Flash animators also disdained deviantART's restrictions on including copyrighted content in animations. Many of these artists also moved to SheezyArt, which permitted Flash animations with borrowed background music, imagery, and other copyrighted material. A user named "Sqeezy" (Tim Frommeyer) is credited with influencing other Flash animators to move to Sheezy.

The Great Exodus
In January 2005 SheezyArt banned pornographic content and deleted all art and writing tagged as adult, citing a new host's policy restrictions as the reason. However, many adult artists expressed disbelief at the administrators' explanation. They believed the new policies to be unfair and unnecessary at the very least; some even felt that it was a form of intentional persecution.

As a result, most artists specializing in pornographic works left SheezyArt after the ban. A large number migrated to newly-created archives based on SheezyArt's model but specializing in adult artwork. The most popular were FurAffinity and y!Gallery, both of which are furry-friendly and all-inclusive. FurAffinity's slogan, "Where free expression reigns," is intended to be a jab at SheezyArt's allegedly oppressive policies. (It should be noted that the slogan has dissapeared as of some time in 2006, due to changing polocies at work... such as their anti-lolicon standings...)

Trolls on SheezyArt
In general, trolling on SheezyArt is perceived differently than on other online communities. Harmless trolling, often involving groups of people playing outrageous characters, is permitted and, to some degree, encouraged. The original set of SheezyArt trolls--Fungus, Gene Ternruh, Pitbull, The Krampus, Lobsternaut, Reagan, and Tengu--popularized troll behavior on SheezyArt, but now are largely non-participatory.

Argumentative and aggressive behavior is often frequently seen and tolerated, but outright aggression and harassment is usually reprimanded.

IQ Challenge

2006-07-12T12:51:20Z

70.112.108.51: /* The Bunny */ Fixed spelling of "braoder"

The IQ Challenge was a LiveJournal meme created by Triggur which took the form of an IQ style test in which the player has to answer a number of maths, anagram and logic questions before given their score in a fun image to place on their LiveJournal. What players did not know however, was that the entire test was fake and used the testee's IP address combined with the URL they were told to paste on to the LJ to pull a prank on the poster.

The test's true purpose was shortly discovered by its users, and the quiz was pulled from its own site and replaced with a short essay. This personal piece stated that IQ tests only hinder people (high scores subconciously promote arrogance while low scores promote inferiority) and that what you do matters more than how smart you are.

How it worked
The test results were never recorded. When the person who took the test viewed their image, their IP address was identified by the IQ Challenge server and they were shown a high scoring image (from 135 to 165, determined by a random function when starting the test). To anyone else who viewed the same image from a different IP address, it would display a very low score (70 to 92, no correlation to the high score). The result was that many people posted to their LiveJournals, showing off their score and appeared to be cheering for a very low achievement.

The Bunny
The Character displayed on the results images was designed and drawn by Cuprohastes on request. The character has been refered to as:
* DunceBunny
* Prof. Bunnikins
* The IQ Bunny
* The Testbunny
* Quizbunny
* "That freaky eyed psycho".
The official name is, and always has been, "The Dumb Bunny" since the other designs under considerations were Smart Ass for the high scores, or "Prof. Floating Robot Egg-Head".
After the hoax was admitted, good quality images were made available by Cuprohastes, which led to the creation of a set of icons by LiveJournal user Screwball 420.
The bunny originally had dark blue eyes (International Klein Blue) but after negative comments, they were subsequently altered to a lighter colour.
Originally the bunny was supposed to be female, but was drawn to be more androgynous to appeal to a broader range of users.

Goat

2006-07-12T12:47:52Z

70.112.108.51:

A cloven-hooved animal with dense fur of various colors and a set of horns. They are best known for their goatee-like beards and back-bending horns, which occurs on both males and females. They are closely related to sheep but cannot generally produce viable offspring with them in reality.

In cartoons, goats are often shown eating any object they can (much like ostriches). In reality, however, they are very fastitious eaters, even refusing to eat items that fall from their muzzles to the ground below.
They are also frequently shown as using their horns to toss other creatures from behind. A famous case would be the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff in which the largest billy-goat throws a troll off a bridge.
