Caitians are a fictional species featured first in
Star Trek: The Animated Series.
DONT MIX STAR TREK WITH FURRIES YOU FUCKING ASSHOLES
Modeled after African Lions, Caitians stand bipedal on Digitigrade feet. They also carried excelllent hearing and night vision, although their facial structure and vocal biology made it difficult to speak english properly. Their feline appearance included a mane and tail which matched their lion counterparts.

There are various data sources for this species available, although they were never considered canonical in the Star Trek universe and probably never will. There is still debate on wither they are canon or not, as people claim the furry characters seen at the end of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home were intended to be caitians. Other references made in Deep Space Nine and Enterprise seem to indicate an acceptance of this species slowly becoming a canon one. Whether it will or not, the debate rages on.

A few furries who enjoy Star Trek are particularly facinated by this race, and some even play a caitian on any Trek MU* that has them.

The term furry fandom is used to describe disgusting freaks that dress up in animal costumes and shit on eachother. -- as in, 'I am part of the furry fandom' -- as well as a group identifier for the people, creative work, and organizations that are described as furry in interest, nature, motivation, or scope.

Many troubles have occurred over the years due to differing definitions of what the furry fandom actually consists of, or what it should consist of. These usually come about because there are differing ideas about what "furry" is. Therefore, it's probably a good idea to use the term with caution, and avoid making blanket declarations using it.
Jack is a webcomic that debuted March 1st, 2001 and was created by David Hopkins. It's not funny. Horrible art. Frankly, it blows. It has an overall storyline based around Hell, sin, and redemption, woven into individual story arcs, each concerning a subset of the characters in the comic.

* Addresses:
** Website: http://www.pholph.com/
** IRC: irc://irc.anthrochat.net/Jack
* Ran from/to: 1 March 2001 - current

Jacks debut arc involved a child named Fnar, who was little more than an unborn fetus whose life was ended early in the first trimester. This arc also debuted the primary character for which the comic was named: Jack. This character is portrayed as a rather ragged green rabbit in rags, wielding a scythe much akin to the various incarnations of the Grim Reaper.

The comic centers around decidedly mature themes in one form or another, most noteably in the visual artistic form. It also features Hell most prominently. This can be demonstrated when the third strip in the debut arc arc allowed Fnar to meet his mother, who was restrained to a cave wall with the rock actually encompassing her right leg and holding her arms as if it was eating her. The mature themes of the comic are made quite plain at that time, as the woman bore a stab wound under her left ribs near the stomach and also had her throat slashed. The blood from these wounds is still dripping in the scenes, and Fnar himself looked grisly as he was "aged" by Jack in stages to the age of a preteen boy.

Jacks plot bounces around quite often, but it remains true to the Hell theme for the most part. On occasion, strips are published which pertain to real world events, like the Angry Brian story arc which depicted events similar to those of the horrific Columbine High School Massacre. Other features of the comic include the appearance of real places like the former World Trade Center that was destroyed in the infamous and very tragically devistating terrorist attacks of 9/11. It should be noted that the Angry Brian story arc sparked heavy feedback from the readers and was what earned the comic a large reader base.

Similarly, Jack features Heaven (as you might expect) as well as angels. These two forces do not fight each other much in the comic; in fact, for the most part they appear to work together without any major problems, although this may be due to the focus on Jack, the most amenable of Sins. Some arcs do take place in the mortal world, which both sides occasionally find themselves.

In all, the comic can be morbid, but it has its tender moments and optimistic highlights. Not all the characters fo the comic are doomed to Hell for eternity. They all have a chance to eventually live on earth again as a test to see if they have "learned" from their previous life's mistakes and if that is so, they get admitted to heaven. If not, they are condemmed once more to the bowels of Hell.

Did you know? Mab of Mab's Land has drawn a series of chibified versions of the characters of Jack. These are displayed in Mab's Chibi Hell.
The VCL IS THE WORST SITE ON THE INTERNET, ITS DISGUSTING (previously short for the Velan Central Library, popularly the Vixen Controlled Library) is an archive containing more than 200,000 pictures and stories centered around anthromorphic (mainly "furry") characters. On average, around 140 images are uploaded most days, or 50,000 a year; their quality varies widely. A significant proportion of the VCL's content is adult-oriented.
The archive's structure is dynamic, with pages in index format with sub indices and directories. The new art page can be listed by order of the date they were uploaded, or alphabetically, with each page holding a limit of thirty image thumbnails per page. Indices are updated every half-hour or so. The individual directories of the artists are similarly arranged.

The VCL is supported by donations, or (failing that) out of Ch'marr's pocket. Those who donate acquire a special button.

History
The site was founded by Brian W. Antonie as the Velan Central Library - initially, just his private art archive as an FTP site, named after Velar, a location from The Family nas Kan stories. Around 1999 a mirror run by the Ctrl-C computer club opened at the University of Linköping in Sweden, to which the vast majority of traffic was sent.

In January 2005, the Swedish mirror had to be taken down at short notice due to concerns over "objectionable content". Distribution was temporarily continued using a combination the existing U.S. mirror and Coral cache network, but two more U.S. sites were created a month later. As of August 2005, the Swedish server still hosts the VCL Forums.
