History
The group was initially started as weekly diner runs by the Umgotts Studios crew, including The Kemeeleon, Mitsu, Amadeus, Lunamor, and their friends, Joe Meyer, Thilus, and PyroPhin, and the Fur Keep crew (Gushi, Michelle Latta, and others). Other than that, the only furry activity on the island were occasional Eric Kern's furmeets and the annual furry track at I-CON until Nekonaru Letao initiated the Long Island Furs LiveJournal Community, officially organizing the group and having their first meetup at Nekonaru's OMGWTFBBQ in August of 2006. A multitude of meets have followed since, in addition to a companion website (li-furs.org) by Cubbi.

Lunamor (Lynne) is an artist formerly of Long Island, New York, currently residing in Rochester, New York. Her character is a winged arctic wolf, which is one of several personal totems.

Lunamor was introduced to the furry community in 2002 by Pyrophin. She attended Anthrocon from 2002 to 2008, and worked as an artist in 2006 and 2007, during which time she partnered with Mitsu under the name "Doubletail Designs." She has also attended Furfright and Further Confusion. In 2005 she highlighted in the amateur video OMGWTF! Furries as Victoria, the "Christian Mother," alongside several friends.

While the wolf is her primary totem, Lunamor's other totems include a horse, an owl, and an anglerfish. Lunamor also uses the nicknames "Bloodymare" (An undead mare character) and "Moll" (a non-anthropomorphic anglerfish).
