Trinton Supernatrual System Reference Guide
This system is the basic magic, psionic, and supernatural set up system for Trinton Chronicles Online Forum RPG and was orginally devoloped in the short stories The 10 Pack.
The idea behind the system is a conglomeration of various Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror generics that influced the orginal creator and was later re-adapted by various players of the game
and even a few fans who wrote their own stories using the system. Although it is a copywriten matieral, permisson was granted by the owner to post it here as an Open Source Deveolpment tool for
others.[1] Although it isn't really a system in terms of mechanics it is more here as refrence matieral on types of powers, elements and character classes that make up the wonderful world of Tan'arn.

::The Concept And Explanation::

The ::TSS:: is based on the concenpt that all living beings have three things that can be control in their own existnace..they are mind, body, and soul; the psychic, supernatural, magical abilties
fit into that order respectivly.

::Mind:: - the power of mind over matter and existance is often used in stories and comics under the basic concept that the mind is a powerful tool either trained in or manifested by creatures under
stress. It effects everything not just the minds of others but it is an ability which stems from the
mind and can thusly be effected by mental states of the user. Examples include kenetics that stem from the mind, mind affliction, domination/control, and perception alteration.

::Body:: - the power of physical strength can be taken to new extremes sometimes and is often used to represent powers or abilites which extend from mutations or adaptions in the way a being lives.
This power or ability can stem from the body and is affected by the body's condition be it sick, poisoned, or in perfect health. Examples include super speed, super strength, invulnarablity,
unique energy or kentetics that stem from physical or biological means.

::Soul:: - the power of spirtual awareness and intangible things that can not be explained in science, this power covers magic of all types or abilites which do not come from the mind or body.
From wizards to demons most magical powers are extensions of the soul and thus anything that touches or effects the soul can effect these powers but even things that effect the mind and body
can cause the soul to waiver and lose control of it's own abilties. Examples include magic spells, soul affecting powers, powers that effect reality, and abilites that have no logical explanation.

::Basic Elements::

(This is mostly based around the Trinton D20 system and Forum game but is to be taken along with normal Trinton lore)

There are many different elements in Trinton, starting with the classic earth, wind, water, and fire elemental types there
are also several more types that are fundimental basics of reality. Reguardless of how they are accessed (see above) they
represent reality in Trinton and the universe it resides in.

:Tempest/Chaos: (represents chaos, weather, randomness, and all things that deal with the chaos of reality, newness, and change)

:Energy/Order: (represents order, raw energy, law, and all things dealing with judgment, order of the universe, and static existences)

:Light: (represents all things good and pure, also represents creation)

:Dark: (represents all things bad and corrupt, also represents destruction)

:Nature/Wood: (represents the natural world, appreciation for such things, and all plants/animals)*

:Science/Steel: (represents the artificial world, appreciation for such things, and all machines/computers)*

::Classes/Proffesions for the everyday mortal with abilities/powers::

A minor list of RPG classes based around the concept of mind, body, and soul based powers. This is more refrence matieral for the masses, but it
was used extensivly in both the D20 & Forum RPG as building blocks.
Body
Trinton Supernatrual System Reference Guide
This system is the basic magic, psionic, and supernatural set up system for Trinton Chronicles Online Forum RPG and was orginally devoloped in the short stories The Ten Pack.

::The Concept And Explanation::

::Basic Elements::

:Wind: (represents air, the wind, gases, and things that deal with flying, knowledge, and beauty)
:Earth: (represents earthy substances, rocks, minerals, and the like and all things that deal with digging, acceptance, and discovery)
:Water: (represents the oceans, water, ice and all things dealing with swimming, mystic, and fairness)
:Fire: (represents the volcanoes, magma, deserts, and all things that deal with anger, rage, and courage)
:Time: (represents the passage of time, the future, the past, pre/post cognition, and all things that deal with ruins, history, and enlightenment)
:Space: (represents the very spaces between things, other dimensions, teleporation, and things that deal with travel, guidance, and reality)

Trinton Chronicles is a collection of stories written between 1999 and 2007 by a group of gamers (Role Playing Games) who write under the pen name of “Furry INC.” All of its characters are anthropomorphic completely lacking any existence of human beings placing the main focus of the story, the city of Trinton, in a completely separate world full of magic, spirits, and high technology.

Trinton Chronicles started out as an online role playing game on EZboards in July, 1999. The game was a free-form RPG with a small set of rules (to maintain game-play) that would change forums three times before its first major hiatus that also ended up continuing an earlier creation of the game owner (Dan Hopkins) called The 10 Pack.

The original author and recognized creator of the basic plot of the original series is Dan Hopkins of Ohio. As the game progressed several others joined each adding additional characters and plot lines to the story. The co-authors of the story are: Aliqua Jones, Jay Potter, Robin Hetzel, Claudia Kratochwill, Hannah Grey, Micheal Florian, Jason Anderson, Steven P., Debbie Gurbacki, and Nicole Gilbert. Several people would drop in and out of play throughout the series which would lead so heavy editing of the stories, sometimes altering scenes to remove dropped characters.

Because it was at its heart, a game, the style of play often caused confusion and great conflict within the stories. Critics note that the frequent scene changing can be a bit confusing but otherwise is praised. Not only that, but many people were unsure about playing anthropomorphic characters due to the controversy surrounding the furry genera created at conventions and on TV Shows like CSI and MTV's Real World. However those who did participate became fans of the genera and created a rich and deep set of characters who are mature, and have deep story-lines behind them ignoring anything bluntly sexual or immature.

As a game it has a variety of unique character types and a vast array of options to play it. The Trinton Supernatual System that exisits was used both on the forums and later adapted to a D20 Role Playing style as well.

Trinton Chronicles produced 3 books (New Genesis, White Death, and Xanith's Reign)and two off shoots (Forgotten World of Eternity and Sealed Fate) which were later published at http://angelfire.com/ct/furryrpghome/TC.html for public view. Eventually in late 2005 to early 2006 the game had slowly wound down and appeared to die for a temporary amount of time. But recently (Feb 2007) previous members of the game elected to play again and start a new chapter for Trinton, the possible opening of a new homepage and a brand new forum to play on with a rewritten set of rules by the owner in order to allow deeper story telling. Several members have joined the game over the course of 2007 and began churning out a new story line and possibly a new book; the current new web page can be found here - http://tc.rangernet.net .

Cover Synopsis & Plot Details
These are the original proposed book-cover Synopses and story lines for the books:

Orginal Triology
New Genesis
"When a boy from 84 years ago, a messiah on a mission, an enemy from beyond time, and a group of ill fated and ill prepared people get together... Tan'arn is in for a sheer shock...based on the original short stories of Dan Hopkins... this new novel adds a new chapter to the plights of Tan'arn.. the anthropomorphic world... where furries rule and humans are nonexistent."

Plot
Dan the messiah of magic is awakened from a state of suspended animation in the year 2088. Along with coping with the changes associated with life in the future it is revealed that the company that originally captured and studied him is behind a plot for world domination.

White Death
"A big power hungry necromancer wannabe finds the fabled Book of the Dead (Necronomicon) and throws Death off her throne to take over the city then the world, only the recently discovered 'heroes' of Trinton are up to the challenge of stopping the dead from rising in this exciting sequel to Trinton Chronicles: New Genesis!"

Plot
Nathaniel Black steals the Necronomicon and unseals the dead realm, raising zombies to do his bidding. Most of the original characters from New Genesis return along side a few new ones when a sudden snow storm blankets the city. A shock wave ripples through the city brining it to its knees and raising an army of walking corpses. In contrast to the first book Nathaniel did not just want to take over the world he had his sights set upon two realms and in order to do this had to overthrow death herself. The original head of this arch left half way through and it was completed by another member resulting in a noticeable change in tone. As a result of this the story has been heavily edited and some parts of the story barley resemble the original.

Xanith's Reign
"An angel who was banished thousands of years ago wants to come back and take over the city then the world...and he hopes to become a god in the process by finding his lost prodigy... meanwhile his three cohorts run lose in the city attempting to cause enough of a commotion to weed out their true victim. This is the third installment of the Trinton Chornicles series!"

Plot
Xanith escapes from the Abyss and starts causing trouble to lure out his heir in order to absorb his power and become a god. Only the heroes of Trinton, once they work together, can over come this newest threat.

Spin Offs
Forgotten World of Eternity
"When an alien visitor from a far away galaxy comes to find his long lost bride, he meets with little resistance with the planet. Sadly he didn't count on his long lost bride being an high powered goddess..."

Plot
Silverstone, an alien wolf from another world, comes to Tan'arn to locate his missing bride from 5000 years ago, he discovers the small planet Tan'arn radiates the same aura as his bride did
and decides to take it over. After a year of his take over and no action from anyone, the previous heroes to finally stand up and fight. They band together against the strange
invaders and stop the tyranny!

Sealed Fate
"Following the end of the odd dream, everything in Trinton is at peace....aside from the mysterious null magic/psionic zones in the city and sudden uncontrollable bursts of energy from different spots
in the city....a mysterious count down to disaster has begun and the end of all might be near. Especially thanks to a wish made by Darwin to a Djinn...."

Plot
Narien, an angry non-magic user, unleashes the curse of a clock that steals and seals all the magic, psionic, and super natural powers in Trinton. But just when she
is about to get her way...a random wish unsurps her as main villan and puts Lady Una on top in order to destroy all who oppose her vision of utopia!

Trinton Mythos
Every story has a mythos, or things that make up a common law of the way things work in the fantasy world like Star Wars and Transformers which both have recognizable or well remembered places, people, and things..Trinton is no different:

Places

Onyx Obelisk - A black obelisk in the upper-north east side of the city, it is made of something similar to onyx but more metallic in nature. The mysterious building houses both an extremely large complex inside versus it's smaller appearing outside, which may have once been a temple, and a ton of secrets. The building is in a pit and stands 90 feet from bottom of the pit to the tip of it's structure and is 45 feet on all four sides; A park was built around the obelisk and many people visit it daily. The Obelisk has been in nearly every story and has played a major role on more then one occasion.

Great Cathedral - A large universal church built on the end of Grail Street, it has over 200 stained glass windows all depicting various gods, goddess, and religious symbols. It stands almost as large as Notre Dame but on a much less grand scale. This Gothic style church appeared only twice, once in New Genesis and again in White Death.

Freedom Park - A huge natural reserve which also features a huge inland lake which is half the size of the park. It has camp grounds, private land for cabins, and hunting & fishing store near the camp ground. This park has seldom been seen but mentioned often, its appeared in nearly all stories.

Grail Street - The third longest street in Trinton, it has been the scene of at least two major battles. The street is lined from head to with apartments, condos, and high rise housing.Although mentioned often, it doesn't play an specificate role in any of the stories.

Mystical Diner - A magically enhanced diner that is covered in enchantments including ones that predict orders before the customer makes them, levitating on demand food running, and self-cleaning tables and dishes. The diner's magic was infused in it back in the early days of the city and has yet to need renewal. The diner plays two roles, in the old story it is where Micheal and Dawn first have dinner together. In the new story the place is where Jay and Sabella have their first breakfast together.

Items/Artifacts
Heaven's Key - A magical key with the ability to open any lock, Lady Dawn cherished and hid this item.

Fallen Angel Ocarina - a strange wind instrument with unknown powers, it appears to actually be Xanith's wings and power in disguise however.

Hell's Fury Guitar - a powerful and dark instrument which can open up dimensional gates and create balls of flame and seal off different places. It is actually one Xanith's wings in disguise.

Black Onyx Wolf-head necklace - a mystical seal which prevented Solan's powers from being unleashed. Towards the end of the original series the necklace is cracked and turns a little bit whiter by each day thus unsealing Solan's powers day by day.

Inspiration
The stories presented in the Trinton Chronicles series are all originals but the plot lines, characters, and plot devices were all heavily influenced off of the varied interests of the authors. These interests include anime, manga, TV shows, classic movies, and novels. Some examples are;

*Barbi & Darci (First appearance, New Genesis. First major role in plot, White Death.) were modeled after Team Rocket (Japanese version Pocket Monsters) but are named after Matel’s Barbe and Darcy dolls because they are blond, over sexed and unintelligent.

*The Tengu Bandits (New Genesis) were named Genrou, Kurawasi, and Toriyama. Toriyama after Akira Toriyama, known for Dragon Ball Z, Kurosawa after Akira Kurosawa, the famous Japanese director, and Genrou after Fushigi Yuugi's Suzaku Taski who's real name is Genrou and uses a pair of haisen, or metal fans.

*Near the middle of New Genesis is the one involving the Solan clones in Tutus dancing the French Mistake. The French Mistake is a dance seen near the end of Blazing Saddles

*The inspiration for Xanith's Reign came in part from Xena: Warrior Princess and in part from Charmed for figures of immense power who hide their powers in various objects to reclaim later on.

Because it was at its heart, a game. The style of play often caused confusion and great conflict within the stories. Critics note that the frequent scene changing can be a bit confusing but otherwise is praised. Not only that, but many people were unsure about playing anthropomorphic characters due to the controversy surrounding the furry genera created at conventions and on TV Shows like CSI and MTV’s Real World. However those who did participate became fans of the genera and created a rich and deep set of characters who are mature, and have deep story-lines behind them ignoring anything bluntly sexual or immature.

These are the original proposed book-cover Synopses and story lines for the books:

Orginal Triology

Inspiration
The stories presented in the Trinton Chronicles series are all originals but the plot lines, characters, and plot devices were all heavily influenced off of the varied interests of the authors. These interests include anime, manga, TV shows, classic movies, and novels. Some examples are;

*White Death was influenced heavily by Resident Evil.

*Nathaniel Black is named after Nathaniel Hawthorn, the author of the Scarlet Letter.

*The magical winter in White Death is influenced by the Winter in “The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe,” the lead of that arc's favorite childhood book.

*Mirror Rorrim (whose name is just the same word said twice in two different ways) is actually a reference to 3 different Anime, Sailor Moon Supers, Fushigi Yuugi, and Inu Yasha.

*Frost's real name is Robert Frostovic, Robin's reference to a well known poet.

*Trisha, the angel of war, was named after a dear friend of Triton Chronicle's creator who was not only a manager but reminded him of what an angel of war would be like.

She was killed by the three sisters for interfering with their plans and this is the reason Xanith later fell, because Trisha had changed fate’s course. Trisha’s body was buried by the sea towards the end of Xanith’s Reign.

Twilight - another enigma to add to the platter of such, she is from a place between the worlds. Known as the guardian angel of children she is the antique shop owner and her heir was killed by the Twisted Sisters in order to stop her from becoming free of the limbo curse.

Twisted Sisters - the three sisters are both strange and very creepy at times. They sing and rhyme together as if not three people but one being. They are thought to be Obron’s daughters and the ones who attempt to change fate.

Una - strange cosmic goddess…

Vincent - the other form Destiny used to help take over and run the Luxen Corporation. In the form of Vincent she was stronger and more evil hearted. This is the form Luxian’s dormant soul used to free himself of the new life and be reborn as his old demonic self.

Vissa - computer expert who got caught up in the plot to over throw Luxen Corp by mistake. She helped Kimera fool with the computer systems a bit but was later taken in and hidden by the Relic Link just in case anyone tried to kill her. Current status unknown.

Wesley - yet another of the children in the Shrine’s care. His father is the mayor of Trinton and he seems a bit ‘creepy’ at times. He was the leader of the other children and he got along well with everyone.

X - cyborg who killed Tonya’s girlfriend and almost killed Dan. She seems to be a puppet with no feelings and no real personality. She seems to look like Tonya when her disguise is removed.

Xanith - main villain of Xanith’s Reign. He is also the ‘father’ to Dan and his ambition was to become a god. He was defeated by everyone working together after Rychyld and he fought sword to sword. Xanith is currently stuck in the Abyss again but some say he was killed during the battle.

Zed - mechanic who works for the military base outside of Trinton. He made a brief appearance during White Death.

Zex - Una’s personal assistant who is also a cyborg.

Plot=

Inspiration
The stories presented in the Trinton Chronicles series are all originals but the plot lines, characters, and plot devices were all heavily influenced off of the varied interests of the authors. These interests include anime, manga, TV shows, classic movies, and novels. Some examples are;

Jay - The living element of fire, a persona he lives up to. He can be both a jerk and a sweetheart. He is a thief by trade and a cool guy by nature. He was nearly killed by Nate and later enchanted by Midnight. Jay hasn’t been seen since White Death.

Kimera - sister to Destiny and Jade, she is the one who kept attempting to spoil the company’s plans of world domination. She helped to relocate the Relic Link HQ and was keeping track of Tonya’s killing spree in Europe. He and Jade fought two times before in the past but this time he was reborn as Destiny and something new changed in him.
Mark Parker - his brother is Matt Parker, he was one of the children who were left in the care of the Shinto Shrine. He and Matt are pro pranksters and military brats so at first they didn’t get along to well with the other children.

Parody - a small prankster elf/gnome from the Crowned Realm who was under the control of the Twisted Sisters. He caused a distraction for a while to unwontedly help Xanith escape. When he died he told Rychyld to seek vengeance for him.
She appears like a man to most people, in fact the only people who know are Sasha, her father, Sakura, Dan, Dawn, Sabella, Jonathan, Derick, and her mentor. Rychyld’s personality is very outgoing, cheerful, and bawdy but when Sasha takes over, it's a whole different story.

Sabella - the castaway in the start of White Death. She is a swordswoman of great skill and even greater prowess. Her only weakness is the feeling of being alone at times.
Sakura - empress of Japan and great summoner, she lacks one thing and that’s being calm in strange situations.

Solan - eternal evil, or so we thought, who roamed Trinton under a curse of the gods. He isn’t a nice person par say but defiantly has a romantic air about him. He was supposedly killed while protecting Dawn from Nate Black’s attacks but during Sealed Fate he was brought back and it was learned that he was merely trapped before he died inside the stone that Laura had created.

Sonya - mother to Jessica and aunt to Jade and Destiny. She was a powerful person in her time but after switching bodies with her daughter and then being forced to swap again she was killed by Jade in Russia.

Thea - a master puzzle expert and clairvoyant who was separated from her family during White Death and taken in by the Shinto Shrine. She was the youngest of the children and liked to laugh at everything even remotely funny.

Tolbert - In Forgotten World of Eternity, he was Bors’ older brother and had the better half of the Tarot deck they shared. In reality he was a young boy named Terrie who liked to earn easy money by giving card readings to passers-by.

Tonya - assassin for the Luxen Corp till she was taken over by Jade’s influence. During New Genesis she and her girlfriend attempted to track Dan and re-capture him but during a holiday she revealed to him that she didn’t much care for her job and wanted to have nothing to do with Vincent any longer. She accidentally got caught up in the fight with Luxian and Jade and was later mind warped into being Jade’s puppet. She was sent on a killing spree in Europe where she killed off all the men she could find. After Jade was destroyed it is assumed her mind was set free.
Trisha - angel of war and all around bitch, she wasted her whole life in the Abyss she feels and wants Xanith to free her in a hurry during the start of Xanith’s Reign.

Zoe - a little girl with the power of Ultimate Materialization. She summoned Dawn to herself when her father was attacked and killed. She was given the Mystica Mera to help guide her powers to be more easy to control.

Inspiration
The stories presented in the Trinton Chronicles series are all originals but the plot lines, characters, and plot devices were all heavily influenced off of the varied interests of the authors. These interests include anime, manga, TV shows, classic movies, and novels. Some examples are;

- The Whole Story -

The 10 Pack (sometimes called Trinton Chronicles - Ten Heroes) Is a small collection of short stories [both finished and unfinished works] by Daniel Hopkins, orginally
web-publishing under the penname Derick Wren on his personal website www.angelfire.com/ct/furryrpghome/personal.html and featured
some of his more interesting and entertaining ideas at the time.

It all started as imaginary tales in 1992 inspired by Tale Spin that were later re-invinted by inspiration brought about by SWAT Kats. The imginary tales later became hand written
stories in 1994 when Dan was only 12 years old. These stories later made their offical debute in 1997 in Daniel's high school, a small rural high school in Ohio called Eastern Brown Local,
writers-club paper as a bi-weekly publication that was distributed amongst the school districit. Dan made these publications under his pen name, Derick Wren, and wrote the stories till
their climatic completion in April of 1999. During that same year Dan re-published his works on his personal web page from Geo Cities but the page was censored by Geo Cities due to
unwanted mention of the word 'furry' in the page's description, this caused him to move his page to angelfire where it has stayed online since even tho going through many
changes. While Dan was working with fellow online writers and friends on Trinton Chronicles his orginial stories stayed up on his web page until
he decided to take down his older works and replace it with Trinton Chronicles: New Gensies, the collaberted work of himself and seven others which resaulted from the online game he
had created. The 10 Pack was renamed to Ten Heroes after the completion of TC: White Death in 2001 but was never put back up online.

However Dan suffered a great loss in early 2004 when his harddrive crashed, breaking the disks inside, and thus losing his entire 500+ page novel of the Ten Heroes. This loss
caused him to work on Trinton Chronicles even more, completing 3 more stories and publishing each on on his web space. Since that time he has not writen any new stories concerning
his orginal work and currently the story line remains offically closed.

- The Set Up -

Ten Heroes features ten different people who came together by fate alone and takes place in the city of Trinton during the years of 1994 - 2010, and spans several places
and several adventures of the characters. The orginal novel consisted of 6 different shorter stories that came together in almost anime fashion, each one explaining a different
event or adventure the characters endured.
