Room 366

Room 366 (R366) is a group of furs involved in professional fursuiter photography and cinematography. The name Room 366 is derived from the first R366 photo-shoot that took place during ConFuzzled 2011 in room 366 which was organized by Tillikum and Reeve.

Characteristic of R366 visual material is the usually light sensual and suggestive tone. The dubious reputation that furries have in general concerning this sensual and suggestive tone is something R366 really likes to parody. Actual sexual acts have never and will never occur! The reactions from within the fandom have been diverse: A lot of furries can appreciate the pictures and videos while others see a danger in that fursuiting could be associated with sex, something that could send a wrong signal to the non-furry public.

Initially R366 visual imagery was only shared between the attending furs.

During Eurofurence 17 in 2011, EZwolf recorded a R366 video during a private room party. This video, meant as a parody to the sexually suggestive R&B video-clips as seen on TV, was supposed to be shared only amongst the people present, on the condition that it would not be made public. Completely against the mutual agreement, one of the participants posted a link to Fur Affinity anyway. Even though the post was deleted only 15 minutes after it was posted, it couldn't prevent others from copying the video and reposting it on places such as Youtube in the meantime.
With social networks and publications on websites such as Furry News Network and Flayrah spreading the news, the video spread like wildfire and went viral within a few hours. This lead to big upheaval and some heated discussions within the furry fandom.

By making use of copyright infringement claims, EZwolf tried to stem the spreading of the video on Youtube. During the first few days he managed to have Youtube delete most of the re-uploaded videos. After a few weeks of this though, he stopped doing so because the number of times the video was re-uploaded was simply too much. The relevant video has been watched more than 200.000 times and more re-uploads of the original but also parodies, re-makes and trolling variants still appear on Youtube every day.

After a brief period of reflection, Tillikum, Reeve and EZwolf created a short video to answer the question they were now asked on numerous occasions: 'How do I get to appear in a R366 video?' This resulted in the 'Room 366 – The Prequel' which starred BigBlueFox as Snirf.

With the movie 'Lost' Ezwolf managed to push the R366 movement into a more positive spotlight. The movie was shown during the Eurofurence 18 Enter the Arena dance contest and was met with a loud applause. 'Lost' tells the story of a young fox searching for stability in his chaotic life, has a high production value and was praised for its cinematographic quality. The ending of the story can, completely in R366 style, be interpreted in various ways.

In September 2012, EZwolf recorded a Furry Gangnam Style video with Noodles, Fox and Shivon. This too was a R366 production which managed to get over 50.000 views in less than a month.

In December 2012, the R366 movement released a R366 XXX-Mas Special, produced by Reeve and EZwolf and directed by Shay.

Boing Boing published a short piece by Xeni Jardin about the controversy.<ref>Furry “sex romp” music video created by a furry angers furries (Boing Boing article).
