'''Motor City Furry Con''' ('''MCFC''') is an annual American [[furry convention]]. That takes place in Detroit, Michigan.

== History ==

With the discontinuation of [[Furry Connection North]] in 2013, MCFC was envisaged as stepping in with the "Same time and hotel as FCN".<ref>[https://twitter.com/almightytora/status/377934775761113088 Tweet] via @almightytora. Retrieved September 11, 2013.</ref> As such, the convention was scheduled to first take place over April 11-13, 2014,<ref>[https://twitter.com/MotorCityFurCon/status/378012105925861376 Tweet] on the Motor City Furry Con account on Twitter. Retrieved September 13, 2013.</ref> at the Sheraton Detroit Novi. The Motor City Furry Con FAQ stated
{{q|MCFC and FCN are two separate corporate entities, and while most of MCFC’s staff have attended FCN and a few FCN staff will also be working as staff for MCFC, there is no official affiliation between the two entities. FCN as an event and as a corporate is retired. MCFC does not intend to establish "FCN 2.0". However, many of our staff have attended or volunteered at FCN and do plan to continue the tradition of a relaxed social environment for furry fans.<ref name="FAQ">[http://motorcityfurrycon.org/faq/ FAQ] on motorcityfurrycon.org. Motor City Furry Con's original mascot was a Boat, bunny goat hybrid, and was based off of a fursuit owned by one of the founders, Bashley. There have been several promo videos and merchandise featuring the Boat. After creative differences, and the Boat copyright not belonging to MCFC, the mascot was changed to a bear/deer hybrid named Steven Stout, who is often depicted in con store merchandise.
