VancouFur's Community Spotlight, first appearing in 2013, highlights local talent from the British Columbia, Alberta and Northern Washington furry community.<br />

In 2026, the [[BC Anthropomorphic Events Association]] chose a member of their own board, Mage Mechatronics, to be the CS in an attempt to advertise the upcoming debut of [[Tails of Summer]], which they were chairing. However, Mage would resign their position as chair in the subsequent months.<br />

==Howloween==<br />
VancouFur has very close ties to [[Howloween]]. During the initial concept phase of VancouFur 2012, it was decided that Aphinity — organizer of Howloween since 2008 — should be an integral part of bringing a full-fledged convention to Vancouver, and he was named co-chair. The Executive Suites, home of VancouFur, also became home to Howloween in 2011, acting as a sort of dress rehearsal for the convention. Howloween offers pre-registration at the door for the following year's VancouFur. However, Howloween is not a [[BC Anthropomorphic Events Association]] convention.<br />

VancouFur's Community Spotlight, first appearing in 2013, highlights local talent from the British Columbia, Alberta and Northern Washington furry community.<br />

In 2026, the [[BC Anthropomorphic Events Society]] chose a member of their own board, Mage Mechatronics, to be the CS in an attempt to advertise the upcoming debut of [[Tails of Summer]], which they were chairing. However, Mage would resign their position as chair in the subsequent months.<br />

==Howloween==<br />
VancouFur has very close ties to [[Howloween]]. During the initial concept phase of VancouFur 2012, it was decided that Aphinity — organizer of Howloween since 2008 — should be an integral part of bringing a full-fledged convention to Vancouver, and he was named co-chair. The Executive Suites, home of VancouFur, also became home to Howloween in 2011, acting as a sort of dress rehearsal for the convention. Howloween offers pre-registration at the door for the following year's VancouFur. However, Howloween is not a [[BC Anthropomorphic Events Association]] convention.<br />

At [[VancouFur 2026]], BCAEA board member Mage Mechatronics was announced as the chair for the inaugural ToS and given the role of Community Spotlight to celebrate. However, this would turnout to be a premature celebration as months later Mage would abandon her responsibilities at ToS and resign as chair.<br />
