MINI UPDATE! The info after this paragraph is no longer true.
Vic and Cal finally saw Teris’ true colors and left him. Tetris is banned from ALL NM furry chats except those that he runs. There are concerns on where the money for the “con” is as Tetris wouldn’t say where the donations he questionably gathered are going. He bans anyone from his chat who asks.

Anthro New Mexico can trace its origins to an "impromptu fursuit photoshoot" hosted by three Albuquerque locals: Tetris, Victor Mutt, and Calamity Fox. This photoshoot spawned the ABQ Fursuit Group, and a series of bi-weekly furmeets in the Albuquerque area. Within one month, the Telegram group for the ABQ Fursuit Group grew to 80 members, which inspired Tetris, Victor Mutt, and Calamity fox to begin organizing Anthro New Mexico, both Albuquerque's and the state of New Mexico's first ever furry convention. All three would go on to become the convention's president, vice president, and secretary, respectively. The convention has been delayed with no update when the first year will officially happen.

The conventions’ LLC organization was dissolved and 501(c)7 non-profit Anthro Southwest was created. Tetris and Victor Mutt as Co-Chairs, Clamaity Fox as Secretary.
In May 2025, Victor Mutt and Calamity Fox leave due to behaviors and actions of the other Co-Chair.
