Anthro New Mexico is a (planned) annual all-ages American furry convention.

Overview
Anthro New Mexico can trace its origins to an "impromptu fursuit photoshoot" hosted by three Albuquerque locals: Tetris, Victor Mutt, and Calamity Fox.

This photoshoot spawned the ABQ Fursuit Group, and a series of bi-weekly furmeets in the Albuquerque area. Within one month, the Telegram group for the ABQ Fursuit Group grew to 80 members, which inspired Tetris, Victor Mutt, and Calamity fox to begin organizing Anthro New Mexico, both Albuquerque's and the state of New Mexico's first ever furry convention.

All three would go on to become the convention's president, vice president, and secretary, respectively.

Anthro Southwest was incorporated as a 501(c)(7), overseeing the organization and logistics of Anthro New Mexico. The current structure is Tetris and Sako as Co-Chairs, with Mika Blueshift as Secretary.

The first iteration of the Anthro New Mexico convention will take place on October 23rd-25th, 2026. As of June 29th 2025, the organizers are still working to finalize hotel details.<ref>Anthro New Mexico Hotel Information.
