'''The Shaggy Dog''' is a movie first produced in 1959 by Walt Disney starring Fred MacMurray as Wilby Daniels, a mail carrier that gets turned into a shaggy Bratislavian [[dog|sheepdog]] after a small accident at a museum involving a table covered in ancient rings. The film is loosely based on the 1923 novel ''The Hound of Florence'' by Felix Salten.
In 2006, [[Disney]] produced an updated remake of this 1959 classic starring Tim Allen as District Attorney Dave Douglass. When Dave comes home one day to a shaggy dog in his home, he agitates it when ordering it out and gets bitten on the hand. Unknown to him, this dog carried a rare genetic mutation that a pharmaceutical company was exploiting to increase the lifespan of humans and worse, this mutation is transmittable by contact with the body fluids of the "infected". Soon afterward, Dave finds himself turning into a dog.
While neither movie is furry-oriented, they are both comedies and classic family films.
