'''Pikachu''' ([[wikipedia:Japanese language|Japanese]]: '''ピカチュウ''') is a fictional species from the ''[[Pokémon]]'' [[animé]], [[manga]], and [[video game]]s. It is one of the more popular [[species]], and serves as the franchise [[mascot]], in addition to being one of [[wikipedia:Japan|Japan's]] mascots for the [[wikipedia:2014 FIFA World Cup|2014 FIFA World Cup]].<ref>[http://www.gamespot.com/articles/pikachu-is-japan-s-awesome-mascot-for-fifa-world-cup-2014/1100-6418347/ "Pikachu is Japan's awesome mascot for FIFA World Cup 2014"], GameSpot article by Martin Gaston, dated March 17, 2014. Retrieved January 13, 2015.</ref> Pikachu has also had a balloon in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade since 2001.<ref>[http://macysthanksgiving.wikia.com/wiki/Pikachu "Pikachu"], Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade Wiki entry.</ref>

It evolves from Pichu and then into Raichu when exposed to a Thunder Stone.

The appearance of a Pikachu is that of a cartoon yellow mouse, with long pointed ears, black markings, red cheeks, and a lightning-bolt shaped tail. Their round bodies and bright eyes give off a general idea of "cuteness." However, their cheeks aren't just for show; they contain powerful electric sacs, capable of administering 1,000 amps of electricity.<ref>[https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pikachu_(Pok%C3%A9mon)#Trivia "Pikachu Trivia"], from the entry for Pikachu at [https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Main_Page "Bulbapedia"].</ref>

Contrary to popular belief, the "pika" in Pikachu does not derive from the [[Wikipedia:Pika|pika]]. It is actually derived from the Japanese onomatopoeia "pikapika", the sound and electric spark makes.<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20100501090040/http://www.time.com/time/asia/magazine/99/1122/pokemon6.fullinterview2.html</ref>

==Abilities==
Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokémon. It is able to release electric discharges of varying intensity. It has been known to build up energy in its glands, which it will need to discharge to avoid complications. It is also able to release energy through its tail, which acts as a grounding rod, as well as recharge fellow Pikachu with electric shocks.
Pikachu and its evolutionary relatives are the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Volt Tackle. Pikachu is also the only known Pokémon capable of using the Z-Move Catastropika, and the only known Pokémon capable of using the Light Ball item.

'''Lucario''' is a species of [[Pokémon]], resembling a bipedal blue and yellow [[jackal]]. It has small white [[spikes]] on the backs of its hands and in the middle of its chest. The pre-evolved form of Lucario is called '''Riolu''' and looks like a younger version of Lucario.

Lucario has generated considerable popularity within and outside of the furry fandom. It became one of ''Pokémon''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s [[mascot]]s, along with [[Pikachu]], [[Charizard]], Lugia, and other popular Pokémon. Lucario full-body [[fursuit|suit]]s are often used in promo events<ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJkrpKIxcRQ Lucario handshake event, on Pokemon Center Tokyo]</ref><ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9TX868-3CM Pokemon Sunday] promo</ref>. Lucario is also featured in the ''[[W:Super Smash Bros.|Super Smash Bros.]]'' series beginning from ''[[W:Super Smash Bros. Brawl|Brawl]]'' with other prime Nintendo characters.

Lucario was one of the first Pokémon to be revealed from the fourth generation of [[video game|games]] in 2006. The key character of the eighth movie, ''Lucario and the Mystery of Mew'', it was thought to be a unique legendary creature, but subsequent video games disproved it.

== Appearance ==

Lucario's appearance is based on [[Egyptian mythology|Egyptian god]] [[Anubis (god)|Anubis]]. It resembles either a type of dog (Dobermann) or a jackal with a few marsupial characteristics, such as its shorter height, broader hips, and jagged tail resembling that of a kangaroo. It also hints at Egyptian boxing tradition, supported by its Fighting primary type. What looks like a [[muzzle (anatomy)|muzzle]] is actually a long [[nose]]; the mouth is located under it, like that of humans. Lucario doesn't bite in combat. Both Lucario's and Riolu's hands lack opposable thumbs and are basically [[Paw (anatomy)|paws]]. The black appendages on Lucario's head aren't a second set of [[ears]]. They are mobile and used for sensing auras: to see auras, Lucario closes his eyes and the appendages flare outwards, giving him the appearance of being blindfolded.

Although Lucario is a solely bipedal Pokémon, it is often drawn running on all four limbs<ref>[https://www.awkwardzombie.com/comic/sacrifice-play Running Lucario] in ''Awkward Zombie'' web-comic</ref> or sitting down [[dog]]-like<ref>[http://brawlinthefamily.keenspot.com/comic/80-ownersguide/ Owner's Guide] in ''Brawl in the Family'' web-comic</ref>. In this case, his muzzle may also be drawn more animal-like.

== Abilities ==

Lucario is an Aura-themed Pokémon. By studying other auras, it can sense emotions and intentions, or even predict combat moves. It can manipulate energy waves to form Aura Spheres, its signature attack. Lucario is a great martial artist, with moves like Counter, Force Palm, and Close Combat. In ''Super Smash Bros. Brawl'', it has a "high risk - high return" fighting style.

Lucario understands human speech. In the [[anime]], most Pokémon understand humans, but in video games, it's an outstanding ability. The Lucario from ''Lucario and the Mystery of Mew'' can also speak telepathically, and in the ''Super Smash Bros.'' games, Lucario speaks verbally.

== Movie biography ==

Lucario appears in the movie ''Lucario and the Mystery of Mew''. He tried to stop a battle centuries ago that threatened the kingdom, and when he was unsuccessful he contacted his master, the legendary hero Sir Aaron. Aaron sealed Lucario inside his staff. In the present, when Ash held up the staff, Lucario was released because Ash had the same Aura as Aaron. He told everyone that Aaron was no hero and that he deserted the queen.

When a Mew took Pikachu and Meowth to the Tree of Beginning, Lucario led Ash, Brock, May, Max, and Kidd Summers to the Tree of Beginning. Along the way, Lucario said he didn't trust humans because he believed in Aaron until Aaron abandoned him. Ash didn't believe that Aaron deserted the kingdom, and Lucario said that maybe Pikachu left Ash. This resulted in a fight between Ash and Lucario. However, later time flower showed everyone Aaron sealing Lucario inside the staff during the battle, seemingly proving that Aaron was indeed no hero. Ash apologized to Lucario for what he said and Lucario told him to not desert Pikachu.

They reached the Tree of Beginning, fighting off Regirock, Regice, and Registeel who attacked them. However, they were powerless against the tree's "white blood cells" of its immune system. They didn't eat Lucario because they didn't perceive Pokemon as a threat, but Ash, May, Max, Brock, Kidd, Jessie, and James were all eaten. Mew brought them all back to life, but unfortunately, this put the tree's immune system in shock, which would eventually cause the tree to die. When they reached the heart of the tree, a time flower revealed that Aaron really was the hero as spoken of in the legends, as he transferred his Aura power to Mew to save the kingdom and make it peaceful, sacrificing himself to do so. In order to restore the tree to full health, Ash and Lucario transferred their Aura power to Mew so it could heal the tree. Knowing that it would destroy the one who did this, Lucario knocked Ash aside at the end so he would survive.

With this power Mew restored the Tree of Beginning. Lucario, who was slowly beginning to disintegrate, activated a time flower to see a final message from Aaron, saying that he trapped Lucario in the staff only so he wouldn't follow him and suffer the same fate, and that he knew Lucario would eventually be released sometime in a more peaceful future, and someday they would see each other again. Having been the one to finish the process of transferring his power to Mew, Lucario was completely disintegrated from the process of restoring the tree. He was reunited with Aaron in the next world, eating chocolate.

* Please consult the [[Wikifur]]'s page about "''[[WikiFur:Personal exclusion|article exclusion]]''" first.
* The request must be made by the article's user, with some exceptions (next of kin, lawyer/barrister, etc...).

* NOTE: [[WikiFur:Personal information|Removal of personal information]] is normally not the same as exclusion, and it can be done without needing curator assistance.

==Request: Source citations==

Heyo Spirou, thanks for all your patience and help with my page so far.

I have some sources you can use for my WikiFur page, which I've put in the Talk page of my article.

I don't know how to add citations but if you can add an example I can just copy and paste stuff myself, which is entirely how I wrote the original article.

[https://whitetigerofthenorth.blogspot.com/2021/10/worldbuilding-for-my-fursona.html Here's a link to my blog where I reference my immigration], which you can add as a citation for my immigration under "early life" and change "at the age of 16" to "under the age of 18".

Thanks for everything,

Etrius [[User:WhiteTigerOfTheWest|WhiteTigerOfTheWest]]

== Issues with citation templates ==

Hey Spirou, I'm curious as to your comment on [https://en.wikifur.com/w/index.php?title=Polybun&diff=548278&oldid=548277 this revision] where you mention that the reference templates I've been working on lately were "bombing" Safari. I also use Safari as my main browser and haven't encountered issues. Are you able to provide more info on what's causing problems, or what affect it seems to be having? Thanks! {{:User:AlexanderGrey/sig}} 12:31, 23 February 2022 (EST)
:Saving on preview causes the page to lock, and eventually crash. Does not happen on (Apple-approved) Chrome or Edge (could be a Safari extension issue, maybe Grammarly). first page with this type of reference edit use instead of the ones we have been using since day one, is there a reason for using this type now?. If this is GreenReaper approved, no prob, but syntax that may cause a possible crash could be an issue (if extension related, could be a pain if I have to switch them off to just edit an article) - [[User:Spirou|Spirou]] ([[User talk:Spirou|talk]]) 14:51, 23 February 2022 (EST)
::My assumption would be that it would be extension related if it's not happening in other browsers. Nothing too weird in the syntax either, it's pretty much the same as what Wikipedia were using before they transitioned all their major templates over to Lua (which WikiFur doesn't support).
::I started updating and using citation templates (most already existed, just hadn't been used or updated for several years) to try and bring some consistency to citations. I personally find it easier to assemble them if there's a template with specific parameters and formats to use, and it of course removes some human error from the equation. Most other wiki projects I contribute to also use such templates, so WikiFur either lacking equivalents, or those equivalents being so massively out of step, was pretty jarring for me. They're not something I'm pushing to be a standard on WikiFur, but they're a tool I personally find useful. {{:User:AlexanderGrey/sig}} 15:15, 23 February 2022 (EST)

Good evening,

I created the account GrantGraywolf about 7 hours ago. I can see why you blocked me, since I didn’t contribute anything and made no edits to my user page. My email address and IP are both blocked as well, so I’m sending this from my phone.

My intent was to edit the page for [[Longhorn Furs]] and create an article for its successor org, Longhorn Furries. I’m smack in the middle of finals season so I didn’t get to this right away. I’ve also read through WikiFur:About and understand wiki policy.

I would like to kindly request my block be lifted. If you need any sort of verification, I can happily send it. If the ban is permanent, I’ll also understand.

I apologize if I’ve made any mistakes, and I wish you well.

Thank you,

I recently added some characters from SpongeBob to the Fish page as anthro characters. I was wondering why my edits were gone, then I saw the comment to go with it. This is my first time editing mind you but here are some links to the wikis where I found what their names are:

== Clarify policy about infoboxes ==

Hello Spirou, recently you reverted an edit of mine where I added [[Template:Infobox person]] to an article, with the following reason given: ''-Peson infobox. Imfoboxes are used on special article only (notability, death, others), sry''. I am confused about this, since the person whom the article is about is deceased and should therefore qualify. I am also confused about where this policy is found as I have not encountered it before. I have reviewed [[WikiFur:Policies and guidelines]] and I do not see any restrictions on where person infoboxes (which in my opinion, are simply a formatting tool) can be used. Can you please clarify where this policy is listed? I also request that you edit the Usage section of [[Template:Infobox person]] to include the policy there so that future editors can be aware of it. Thank you

== Stop blocking T-Mobile IP addresses. ==

I don't expect you to understand the technical intricacies here, but the large majority of people who are blocked/banned are using mobile devices to make edits. This makes it difficult for anyone using T-Mobile Home Internet, such as myself, to actually use the website. Mobile IP addresses are random. Due to the nature of how cellular access (?) works, it is technologically impossible to assign a static IP address to anyone using a mobile device like a phone or tablet. Even some mobile workstations (laptops) have WWAN cards that also include cellular data connections. I had to *manually* change my IP address 10+ times to get one that wasn't blocked, which involves waiting 5 minutes for my router to restart. Mobile phones make ban evasion incredibly easy. Stop blocking IPs and just force some pages (like mine) so that only registered users can edit them. I am a fearless, loud, vocal, offensive asshole with fearless, loud, vocal, offensive opinions and that upsets a lot of people, hence the repeated vandalisms on my page. Many imageboard websites running booru forks do this as well, making it impossible to upload or comment. I understand that this is technically frustrating for everyone involved, but websites like this need better (aka modern) ways to identify and quickly deal with abuse. Gone are the days of static IPs being assigned to home internet. Even normal ISPs like Comcast and Verizon are starting to randomize IP addresses for user privacy. If you want to discuss an actual solution to the problem, you or someone who works on site backend can contact me at my registered email address.- [[user:WhiteTigerOfTheWest|WhiteTigerOfTheWest]]

:The article is not being bombarded with vandalism, and it's being taken care of by one/two people, so is really under control. You are being brought into it as a way to ensure the fake edit stays by this or many users, The reddit comment or post references two separate instances, a tweet towards Dril, and a comment that was showed on TV both were added on the page but this is a separate section being added to try to link both into a fake narrative. This person is trying to link them into a narrative so they can profit from reddit coins and defame me on my page. I have reverted the first edit they or those involved made regarding the slur after an admin had done so I believe yourself as it was pro abuse. The reddit post contains unfounded accusations and fake stories to cause offence and outrage.

::Subject doesn't understand that a wiki is not a self-promotion page. He can not get info removed from other sites or Twitter or TV, so is doing a revert war to make it his self-promotion page.

== Tyla Cooke ==

I noticed that the page I added is Tyla Cookie instead of Cooke, so can you fix it?

== WORK SABBATICAL ==

Currently on a really busy professional work sabbatical, will respond to the posts here later, and apart of spam or vandalism reverts/bans, I will be out of commision regarding Wikifur editing for a while. There are other curators that can help in th emean time - [[User:Spirou|Spirou]] ([[User talk:Spirou|talk]]) 20:00, 7 September 2023 (EDT)

== Page Removal Request ==

Hello,

I am CEO of PhoxWorx Ltd. Co. the Intellectual Property owner of WereScape.
I have noticed a couple of inaccuracies posted by other users as well as a false claim to ownership by Vtwolf82.
We are now policing the article monitoring it's edit but would prefer for the entire article to be removed from WikiFur.

https://werescape.online/wikifur.html I have prepared a statement to that degree on the projects website to help with the verification process.
You can click the link at the bottom page of the website to get back to PhoxWorx main website to further establish ownership.

If you or someone else could remove [[WereScape]] that would be greatly appreciated.
If it weren't for the fact that ANYONE including anonymous website visitors to WikiFur can edit the page then we would have considered not making such a request, but this along with the fact anyone can view history of the article seeing the incorrect information is the reasoning behind this request since the only way to make sure the accuracy of the information is to just remove it entirely. - {{unsigned|Phoxman1982}}

:Actually not dismissing your post, but I am on work sabbatical until pro work is finished, only responding to software alerts for spamming or vandalism incidents (blanking/deletion of articles being one). Custodian/curator [[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]] would be the person most qualified to resolve this issue at this current time. Unbelievably busy yours, [[User:Spirou|Spirou]] ([[User talk:Spirou|talk]]) 18:50, 11 September 2023 (EDT)

I have made the request to [[User:GreenReaper|GreenReaper]] and will refrain from reverting your edit until I hear back from them.
If the result is not to our liking we will continue to police changes and will continue to refrain from removing the entire article, I think
at this point our message has been received.

We decided ultimately to rebrand the service, it also no longer has a furry first approach and the website has also been removed.
The article [[WereScape]] now only exists to take up resources, so you can ignore the above request at this point.

Taken what you've said into consideration, once new evidence is provided in repatriable sources. I shall attempt to inform you of any such changes.

For example if one of the accused was cleared of all charges or if new evidence appears regarding the individuals involved in said article I shall let you know.

Due to being in a stormy state, power-cuts and internet issues are quite frequent and I sadly have almost zero time online due to such issues.

== Nyx Pandora Makaria page ==

I fixed the page by adding a redirect. Can you also fix this error that I made yesterday?

== Minotaur Tauren ==

The Tauren are based on Minotaurs, so can this be back on this page like it was previously? - {{unsigned|2601:18d:4700:72a0:809f:7e5:c653:c25e}}
:The [[Minotaur]]s is a [[bovine]]/[[human]] [[hybrid]] of Greek mythology, from planet Earth. [[Tauren]]s are evolved bovines from the planet [[W:Azeroth|Azeroth]], originally descended from the '''Yaungol''', an [[anthropomorphic]] [[yak]]-like [[species]], from which [[taunka]]s also derive, and '''Blizzard''' has already stated that taurens are '''not''' minotaurs (there was to be a playable Minotaur class on WoW, but it was dropped in place o the evolved anthro bovine species, the tauren). Hope this clears things up. - [[User:Spirou|Spirou]] ([[User talk:Spirou|talk]]) 07:22, 11 October 2023 (EDT)

== Light Lux Collie ==

When I added this page, I fixed the error by changing it from Night to Light.

Worgen

2023-10-11T20:55:51Z

2601:18D:4700:72A0:F874:21E5:E865:CC43: /* Overview */

[[File:WorgenGen.jpg|thumb|350px|Worgen character generation screen]]
The '''Worgen''' are a race of [[werewolves]] from the [[W:MMORPG|MMORPG]] ''[[World of Warcraft]]''.

== Overview ==

Worgen became playable [[character]]s inworld on December 7, 2010, with the release of the ''[[Cataclysm]]'' expansion. Playable Worgen are natives of the until-recently isolated nation of '''Gilneas''' who were infected by a form of [[lycanthropy]] caused by an ancient [[druid]]ic curse (called '''the worgen curse''', '''the curse of the worgen''', or simply, '''the Curse''')<ref>[https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Worgen_curse ''Worgen curse''] on [[W:Wowpedia|Wowpedia]] Retrieved July 5, 2023.</ref> that can be passed to humans and Night Elves through the Scythe of Elune, the bite of another Worgen, or drinking the blood of another Worgen.

They are now members of the [[Alliance]]. When out of combat, Worgen can switch between [[human]] and [[anthropomorphic]] [[wolf]] forms. As with the werewolf, they do not have tails. Worgens not only have yellow eyes, but can also come in other colors such as blue. The [[male]]s are more muscular than the [[female]]s and have larger canine teeth, with four fingers and three toes with [[dewclaw]]s.

== History ==

Pre-Cataclysm, Worgen were [[monster]]s hostile to both the Alliance and the [[Horde]]. They were believed to come from a horrible parallel dimension. Worgens were summoned on several occasions to fight invaders, but in all instances, they managed to break free of control. By transmitting the "Worgen's curse" via bite they were able to greatly expand their numbers.

The human nation of Gilneas was self-isolated from the world by a giant wall, but they had no protection from the Worgen plague. By the time of the Cataclysm, most citizens of Gilneas were infected by the curse. A special treatment allowed them to retain their human personality and to [[shapeshifting|shapechange]] into human form.

When the Cataclysm struck, Gilneas became vulnerable to the [[Forsaken]]'s attack. The undead were relentless in their search for the [[Scythe of Elune]], the artifact that Gilneas swore to protect. Soon the nation had to evacuate from their ancient homelands to [[Night Elve]]s' hospitality. Elves revealed that the Worgen descended from ancient Elven druids who followed [[the way of the Wolf]]. The wolf-druids became too close to the bestial side and had to be contained in the [[Emerald Dream]], a mystical parallel dimension.

'''[[Template:Did you know|Did you know?]]''': Worgen directly reference the [[furry fandom]] in one of their in-game jokes (played after entering the ''/silly'' command): ''"Are you into... [[furries]]??"''.
