Regarding article exclusion (removal) from Wikifur
* Please consult the Wikifur's page about "article exclusion" first.
* The request must be made by the article's user, with some exceptions (next of kin, lawyer/barrister, etc...).
* The exclusion will delete the ability for others to edit it any further, plus a protection layer is added by Wikifur's curators so is no longer searchable on such sites such as Google.
* NOTE: Removal of personal information is normally not the same as exclusion, and it can be done without needing curator assistance.
* The request can be made in a myriad of ways (Email, Zoom/Skype, Twitter, Facebook, IRC, Fur Affinity's DM/Discord, etc...).

If you are trying to contact me specifically about an exclusion, please send me a DM via Twitter at "Spirou on Wikifur".

Nyinxie
The WikiFur page Nyinxie has been deleted on 22 September 2021 by Spirou, see https://en.wikifur.com/wiki/Nyinxie.

Editor's summary: Not ready for prime time article. What does this mean? i don't understand - Nyinxie

:Hallo. As it was (a couple of links and request to expand the stub), the article was not ready for inclusion yet (see a full article like Splash Fusky as an example). If you still working on it, is best to build it on your user page, then copy/paste as an article when is ready to be published.

:I moved the available data to Nyinxie's talk page. Direct users there to help you out fleshing it out. Hope it is clear, Cheers - Spirou (talk) 19:23, 22 September 2021 (EDT)

Hi;

I've already posted this request in GreenReaper's talk page and emailed him but I haven't received any feedback, yet. I apologize if I'm acting impatient.

Could you create a Turkish subdomain in WikiFur so we can contribute it by our native tongue ?

Thanks. - DarkBloodKing

Request: Source citations
Heyo Spirou, thanks for all your patience and help with my page so far.

I have some sources you can use for my WikiFur page, which I've put in the Talk page of my article.

I don't know how to add citations but if you can add an example I can just copy and paste stuff myself, which is entirely how I wrote the original article.

Here's a link to my blog where I reference my immigration, which you can add as a citation for my immigration under "early life" and change "at the age of 16" to "under the age of 18".

Thanks for everything,

Etrius WhiteTigerOfTheWest

Issues with citation templates
Hey Spirou, I'm curious as to your comment on this revision where you mention that the reference templates I've been working on lately were "bombing" Safari. I also use Safari as my main browser and haven't encountered issues. Are you able to provide more info on what's causing problems, or what affect it seems to be having? Thanks! 12:31, 23 February 2022 (EST)
:Saving on preview causes the page to lock, and eventually crash. Does not happen on (Apple-approved) Chrome or Edge (could be a Safari extension issue, maybe Grammarly). first page with this type of reference edit use instead of the ones we have been using since day one, is there a reason for using this type now?. If this is GreenReaper approved, no prob, but syntax that may cause a possible crash could be an issue (if extension related, could be a pain if I have to switch them off to just edit an article) - Spirou (talk) 14:51, 23 February 2022 (EST)
::My assumption would be that it would be extension related if it's not happening in other browsers. Nothing too weird in the syntax either, it's pretty much the same as what Wikipedia were using before they transitioned all their major templates over to Lua (which WikiFur doesn't support).
::I started updating and using citation templates (most already existed, just hadn't been used or updated for several years) to try and bring some consistency to citations. I personally find it easier to assemble them if there's a template with specific parameters and formats to use, and it of course removes some human error from the equation. Most other wiki projects I contribute to also use such templates, so WikiFur either lacking equivalents, or those equivalents being so massively out of step, was pretty jarring for me. They're not something I'm pushing to be a standard on WikiFur, but they're a tool I personally find useful. 15:15, 23 February 2022 (EST)

Block
Good evening,

I created the account GrantGraywolf about 7 hours ago. I can see why you blocked me, since I didn’t contribute anything and made no edits to my user page. My email address and IP are both blocked as well, so I’m sending this from my phone.

My intent was to edit the page for Longhorn Furs and create an article for its successor org, Longhorn Furries. I’m smack in the middle of finals season so I didn’t get to this right away. I’ve also read through WikiFur:About and understand wiki policy.

I would like to kindly request my block be lifted. If you need any sort of verification, I can happily send it. If the ban is permanent, I’ll also understand.

I apologize if I’ve made any mistakes, and I wish you well.

Thank you,
Grant

Edits
Hello!

I recently added some characters from SpongeBob to the Fish page as anthro characters. I was wondering why my edits were gone, then I saw the comment to go with it. This is my first time editing mind you but here are some links to the wikis where I found what their names are:
https://spongebob.fandom.com/wiki/Incidental_40
https://spongebob-new-fanon.fandom.com/wiki/Nat_Peterson
https://spongebob.fandom.com/wiki/Sandals

If they aren't major enough characters to add, I understand that though.
Cheers!

Feesh

:Except for Mrs. Puff on Sponge Bob Squarepants, we don't include incidental characters as it would quickly overtake the article. If we did so, the article would be just Shark Tale and the Nemo franchises' incidentals. - Spirou (talk) 21:17, 22 May 2022 (EDT)

Clarify policy about infoboxes
Hello Spirou, recently you reverted an edit of mine where I added Template:Infobox person to an article, with the following reason given: -Peson infobox. Imfoboxes are used on special article only (notability, death, others), sry. I am confused about this, since the person whom the article is about is deceased and should therefore qualify. I am also confused about where this policy is found as I have not encountered it before. I have reviewed WikiFur:Policies and guidelines and I do not see any restrictions on where person infoboxes (which in my opinion, are simply a formatting tool) can be used. Can you please clarify where this policy is listed? I also request that you edit the Usage section of Template:Infobox person to include the policy there so that future editors can be aware of it. Thank you

Stop blocking T-Mobile IP addresses.
I don't expect you to understand the technical intricacies here, but the large majority of people who are blocked/banned are using mobile devices to make edits. This makes it difficult for anyone using T-Mobile Home Internet, such as myself, to actually use the website. Mobile IP addresses are random. Due to the nature of how cellular access (?) works, it is technologically impossible to assign a static IP address to anyone using a mobile device like a phone or tablet. Even some mobile workstations (laptops) have WWAN cards that also include cellular data connections. I had to *manually* change my IP address 10+ times to get one that wasn't blocked, which involves waiting 5 minutes for my router to restart. Mobile phones make ban evasion incredibly easy. Stop blocking IPs and just force some pages (like mine) so that only registered users can edit them. I am a fearless, loud, vocal, offensive asshole with fearless, loud, vocal, offensive opinions and that upsets a lot of people, hence the repeated vandalisms on my page. Many imageboard websites running booru forks do this as well, making it impossible to upload or comment. I understand that this is technically frustrating for everyone involved, but websites like this need better (aka modern) ways to identify and quickly deal with abuse. Gone are the days of static IPs being assigned to home internet. Even normal ISPs like Comcast and Verizon are starting to randomize IP addresses for user privacy. If you want to discuss an actual solution to the problem, you or someone who works on site backend can contact me at my registered email address.- WhiteTigerOfTheWest

Page Removal Request
Hello,

I am CEO of PhoxWorx Ltd. Co. the Intellectual Property owner of WereScape.
I have noticed a couple of inaccuracies posted by other users as well as a false claim to ownership by Vtwolf82.
We are now policing the article monitoring it's edit but would prefer for the entire article to be removed from WikiFur.

https://werescape.online/wikifur.html I have prepared a statement to that degree on the projects website to help with the verification process.
You can click the link at the bottom page of the website to get back to PhoxWorx main website to further establish ownership.

If you or someone else could remove WereScape that would be greatly appreciated.
If it weren't for the fact that ANYONE including anonymous website visitors to WikiFur can edit the page then we would have considered not making such a request, but this along with the fact anyone can view history of the article seeing the incorrect information is the reasoning behind this request since the only way to make sure the accuracy of the information is to just remove it entirely. - Phoxman1982

:Actually not dismissing your post, but I am on work sabbatical until pro work is finished, only responding to software alerts for spamming or vandalism incidents (blanking/deletion of articles being one). Custodian/curator GreenReaper would be the person most qualified to resolve this issue at this current time. Unbelievably busy yours, Spirou (talk) 18:50, 11 September 2023 (EDT)

I have made the request to GreenReaper and will refrain from reverting your edit until I hear back from them.
If the result is not to our liking we will continue to police changes and will continue to refrain from removing the entire article, I think
at this point our message has been received.

We decided ultimately to rebrand the service, it also no longer has a furry first approach and the website has also been removed.
The article WereScape now only exists to take up resources, so you can ignore the above request at this point.

In Greek mythology, the Minotaur was a creature that was half man and half bull. It dwelt in the Labyrinth, an elaborate maze constructed by King Minos of Crete and designed by the architect Daedalus to hold the Minotaur. The Minotaur was eventually killed by Theseus. It is one of the earliest examples of an anthropomorphic character in history.

The Legend of the Minotaur
Before Minos of Knossos became king of Crete he asked the Greek god Poseidon for a sign to assure him that he, and not his brother, was to receive the throne. Poseidon agreed to send a white bull on condition Minos would sacrifice the bull back to the god. Indeed, a bull of unmatched beauty came out of the sea. King Minos, after seeing it, found it so beautiful that he instead sacrificed another bull, hoping that Poseidon would not notice.

Poseidon was very angry when he realized what had been done, so he caused Minos's wife, Pasiphae, to be overcome with a fit of madness in which she fell in love with the bull. Pasiphae went to Daedalus for assistance, and Daedalus devised a way for her to satisfy her passions. He constructed a hollow wooden cow covered with cowhide for Pasiphae to hide in and allow the bull to mount her. The result of this union was the Minotaur. In some accounts, the white bull went on to become the Cretan Bull captured by Hercules for one of his labors.

The Minotaur had the body of a man and the head and tail of a bull. It was a fierce creature, and Minos, after getting advice from the Oracle at Delphi, had Daedalus construct a gigantic labyrinth to hold the Minotaur. It was located under Minos' palace in Knossos.

Minos had just won a great victory over the Athenians, so he demanded that seven Athenian youths and seven maidens be sent every ninth year to be devoured by the Minotaur. When the third sacrifice came around, the Greek hero Theseus volunteered to go to slay the monster. Ariadne, Minos' daughter, fell in love with Theseus and helped him get out of the maze by giving him a ball of thread, allowing him to retrace his path. Theseus killed the Minotaur (with a magical sword Ariadne had given him) and led the other Athenians back out of the labyrinth.

Minos, angry that Theseus could escape, imprisoned Daedalus and his son Icarus in the labyrinth. They were able to escape by building wings for themselves, but Icarus famously died during the escape.

Sometimes the Minotaur is represented as a bull with a human torso instead of a head, like a bull version of the Centaur.

Minotaurs in mainstream culture/religion
* In Dungeons & Dragons minotaurs worship the demon lord Baphomet, and whilst they mainly function as mere monsters, in the Dragonlance campaign setting, they are a reasonably civilized and cultured race.
* The card game Magic: the Gathering features minotaurs as being both savage (the Hurloon minotaurs) and tribal yet somewhat cultured (the Talruum).
* In the online game Shadowbane, players are able to assume the role of a minotaur, and minotaurs in general form a key role in the backstory and lore and are depicted as a full range, from the savage to the civilized.
* The multiplayer role-playing game World of Warcraft features a species of anthropomorphic bovines, called Tauren, which are essentially based on the Minotaur.
* In the online game Dark Age of Camelot, the minotaur was introduced as a playable race as well as a monster in an expansion.
* In the Warhammer setting, minotaurs are a breed of beastmen chosen by the Chaos Gods to guard their temples. Minotaur champions, known as Doom Bulls also lead armies of beastmen, mortals, and daemons.
* A SciFi Channel original movie depicted the minotaur as a large undead bull monster, a departure from the usual image of the minotaur.
* Ox, the on-stage persona of one of the members of the Finnish band Lordi, is described as being an undead 'man-bull', a reference to the mythical minotaur.
* Thomas Burnett Swann's Minotaur Trilogy of fantasy novels features Silver Bells and Eunostos, the last two of their race; possessing more humanoid heads and faces than classical depictions of minotaurs, they are more like bovine versions of satyrs.

Minotaur and furry
The concept though of a half-man, half-bull, is one of the earliest examples of anthropomorphic characters, but minotaurs as a whole are quite uncommon in the furry fandom.

In furry visual novels, minotaur and bovine characters have appeared in a few instances:

* In Minotaur Hotel the story revolves around Asterion, the minotaur from the Greek legend, in current-day Earth.
* Killigan's Treasure features a bovine race called bovos. The protagonist, Killigan, belongs to this race.
